Checked out the grand opening of Sizzling Indian Kitchen in Happy Valley and had such a great time! The vibe was super warm and welcoming -- you could tell they put a lot of love into making it special. I ordered the tandoori chicken, naan, and chana masala... all three were amazing. The chicken had that perfect smoky flavor, the naan was soft and fresh, and the chana masala was packed with flavor. What really made the night unique was the live oud music -- it added such a cool and relaxing touch to the evening. Definitely a spot I'll be coming back to. We went to the mall because we saw the billboard for this new place. When we got there there was a private event but we were still welcomed with open arms. In comparison to the other Indian restaurants somewhat near by, it wasn't great. The rice had no flavor and was undercooked, I like spice and the curry was too spicy with no option of more or less but once again no flavor I literally needed to add salt, butter chicken was too sweet, the chicken inside the dish's I tried was good and cooked perfectly, samosas surprisingly disgusting, the naan was good but like the rest of the menu it was closer to store bought than a authentic. The service is amazing too everyone in there is friendly. Our first time coming we met the female owner and she was very kind asking us how we liked the food. We were sitting outside and even had a stranger ask us what we ordered cause the food looked so good. The second time we met the male owner he was also very nice asking me and my friend where we were from and even playing our cultural music over the speakers. This place is legit, they shouldn't change a thing. It has a fast casual style/menu format, however the food is much better than your usual fast casual quality. We stop by yesterday for dinner and ordered from the Sizzling Signature menu. The Lamb Biryani was so good and also the Tandoori platter and Chicken Tikka Masala. We got our food a bit spicy. The food all tasted good though it was only a little warm... not hot. It might be better if they had real dishes to eat on and real silverware instead of tiny plastic forks. We spent over $50 for two people and had to sit and eat out of plastic containers. and my tiny cheap plastic fork broke trying to eat a piece of chicken. Try the desserts- they are unique and satisfying and they come with your meal if you order a plate, as do a couple slices of naan. You'll need the naan- to spoon up these rich and delicious sauces.
