This base is all the same but they have different variations like chicken or stroganoff. What I normally do, is mix everything together and rip the edges off to dip in the middle. So rich, but so delicious! On a recent trip to Seattle we stopped in for breakfast. I came across this place on Yelp, and we have loved the khachapuri at a restaurant near home, so had to give this place a try. I can say definitively - this was so much better! We ordered the original - cheesy buttery goodness, and then also ordered the one with bacon, red beans, and banana peppers. I have to say that the original is perfection, and definitely my favorite. It was nice to try the one with bacon as well though, which was also delicious, and having a bite with the tangy banana peppers cut through some of the richness of the original. Don't ask for a knife - they don't have them. Rip off bits of bread, stir your egg yolk in with the cheesy goodness, and continue to rip, dip, and enjoy. One per person was definitely too much, so I suggest coming with a few people so you can share a couple of them for some variety (or just come super hungry and have your own, lol). The restaurant itself was clean and bright, very cute with minimal decor. You order at a tablet on the counter, and they call you to come and get it when it is ready, so don't expect a lot of service. It was a quick walk from where we were staying near Pike's Place Market. We came here this morning (Thursday) around 9:20am and there for a couple patrons inside but not busy. However around 9:30, there were definitely more people starting to trickle in. We placed our order at the kiosk as instructed by the sign. You know, some people have a problem with kiosks and limited human interaction. I'm not one of those people. I feel like kiosks for ordering food is pretty common now and it actually leaves less room for error or miscommunication. Plus it means that the business can really focus on the food- especially a place like this where the food is made-to-order. The kiosks were easy to use- giving descriptions and pictures of all the menu items. Off to the side there is a station for self-serve water, salt and pepper, condiments, and sugar packets and whatnot for coffee. They also have boxes so you can grab one if you need to pack up leftovers. I've never had Georgian food before so I was pretty excited to try this out. These bread boats not only look beautiful but they taste amazing! I got the Lobiani and my husband got the Chicken. I loved the flavors of both. The bread part was perfection. They nailed it. The bread has a crispy exterior (even the bottom of the boat). But when you pull off a piece of the bread, the interior is so soft and soaks up all the fixings well. They are very filling and we probably could have shared one. But since we are only visiting, it was nice to try a couple different ones. The family and I had breakfast at Skalka on Monday before heading to the cruise ship terminal. I'll be honest ad say I've read some of the reviews from my fellow Yelpers about Skalka and I don't see what the big deal was. To order food, you and your party have to gather in front a small touch screen to place your own order. There is only one for the whole place. This creates a delay because people are indecisive and end up playing the whole who is going to order what game. There are only five food items on the menu. Bottom line is....don't be in a hurry. Customer service is pretty much nonexistent. There were two people that would pop out from behind the counter on occasion to drop food off. One lady was wearing a backpack while making coffee behind the counter. I couldn't tell if she worked there or we had to get our own coffee. My daughter and I ordered the Adjaruli which was basically melted cheese, butter, and an egg yolk baked into a bread boat. Honestly, not an amazing dish. I ordered the chicken boat since it seems to be their most popular flavor based on Yelp, but I found it a bit bland and my friends who also ordered the chicken felt the same way. I also got the chance to try the lobiani, stroganoff, and veggie boats that my friends ordered and the chicken seemed to be the only bland one. Of the boats I tried, the stroganoff and veggie were my favorites and I'd go with one of these if I ever return. The lobiani was flavorful too but it mostly just tasted like regular refried beans to me.
