Great place at most locations but the location on Airport and Pine Ridge is terrible. They cannot figure out how to cook hash browns. We sent them back after they arrived raw and cold. They came back nearly identical just smushed back together. The waiter stated "our kitchen has always had a hard time crisping the hash browns. Leave a bad review. It happens daily." Located in the corner of a strip mall, this particular Skillets restaurant was established in 1995. There are other locations around town. This one is popular and busy, but we came after breakfast and before the lunch crowd on a weekday, so it was quick service for us. The hostess sat us inside at one of the wooden tables that seats four people. The staff were busy cleaning the table as we approached. This didn't make sense to me since there were clean tables setup all around this one. Why give us the one that is wet because it was just wiped down? Our server Jessica brought us drinks right away and gave us a chance to study their breakfast and lunch menu. There are a lot of choices! I honed in on the Benedict category and within this one, there were about five different options. I chose the vegetarian avocado and tomato with poached egg on a muffin. They were smothered with their signature Hollandaise sauce that is made with sun ripped tomatoes. My mom went for the Sunrise Benedict which had bacon and was on a potato pancake. She seemed happy with hers too. On the menu, it is listed as a favorite. Both of our plates included a small cup of fruit and we got to choose a side. I selected the baked hash browns that came with cream cheese and scallions. It was almost like a casserole. I would skip this and go with just hash browns so that you can soak up your runny egg because the casserole was already logged with moisture from the cream cheese. Not a great combo, but both were delicious. My mom opted for the cranberry orange scone. She said it was sweet and tasty. Our meal was well over $40 with tip, but there was plenty of food. We both had drinks too. She got coffee and I got sweet iced tea. When the server brought me a refill, she brought me unsweetened tea. Not a big deal, but I would have preferred the sweet tea both times. At the store entrance is a Blue Zones Project sign. I had noticed this at the hospital we were at earlier. Apparently the City of Naples is trying to encourage businesses and people everywhere to partake in a healthy lifestyle from moving more, eating healthier, and being more connected. Through this campaign, they are hopeful that Naples will become a Blue Zone, a place where there is a high concentration of centurions. Overall we had an enjoyable, quick meal here with decent service. We would both consider returning and even ordering the same thing or something different because there are so many choices. read more

The kids' menu was a really nice value as the chocolate chip pancakes were enormous. They do have a full latte menu as well. This place is delicious! It is a locally owned chain restaurant. We arrived and were seated promptly. A server approached right away and took our orders. The coffee was really flavorful. I opted for the pesto eggs and sausage with grits. It was really good. The sausage was scrumptious! My husband had the Benedict and said it was delicious. He ate every last bite! The oatmeal was perfect. The restaurant is very big which allows for lots if seating. The menu has lots of options to choose from. Will definitely be back when on the west coast. read more

Recalling back to vacation a few months ago... My skillet was everything delicious you want in a breakfast: bacon, avocado, eggs, hash browns, fruit, and toast. Our server, I think it was Andrea, was awesome. We were having a heck of a time finding a beach umbrella to purchase (what is this nonsense???) and she offered to give us hers, but she had left it at home that day. Isn't that nice!? She was great. I have eaten at a few of their locations and have had the same experience. Place is efficient and cleanly. The staff is courteous and helpful. Most important the food is always delicious. Only thing I did different today was actually try one of their house favorite "skillets" . It was a solid dish. Very tasty skillet potatoes. Always some fresh fruit and toast. I am a cheese omelette and grits fan personally. But this was a delicious departure. These places are run well it seems from a few experiences. And never a bad meal. read more

Two reasons alone to come here: their fresh OJ and their bacon. Mmmmm baconnnnnn. I have come here now on two separate occasions while visiting friends who live in Naples. Both times the food has been so freaking delish. I had this beligian waffle combo the first time and then got the crepes suzette combo. These combos come with eggs and bacon. The bacon is this insanely thick cut piggy goodness. The belgian waffle was really good, but holy lord the crepes suzette was AMAZING. The crepes were covered in the tastiest warm homemade orange sauce. I am drooling thinking about it. Now when ordering you definitely want the OJ to drink up with your food. (FYI to skillets: It should be a tuna salad sandwich on rye grilled. What arrived was a scoop of the driest tuna salad (so dry it could have been straight tuna) on an untoasted English muffin half with a piece of cheese melted on it. Just terrible. Terrible terrible terrible. How I could possibly be the first person to order this and notice that when you order a tuna melt you don't get one is beyond me. The restaurant does not offer French fries so I opted for Cole slaw. My wife, sensing my disgust and disappointment with the cole slaw asked if it was any good. I replied that it didn't seem to have any dressing on it and was just shredded cabbage. She told me to quit being a baby and tried it hoping to tell me I was wrong. Begrudgingly she agreed with me. I had the waitress bring me a side of vinaigrette. Finally, the place is very expensive. One omelet with a side of sausage and a half a sandwich with a cup of soup, and one ice tea was $38. WTF. One of my favorite breakfast spots in Naples. Of all their locations, I like this one the best so far. It seems bigger and laid out better than the one in Park Shore that I frequent. The food is equally excellent at both. The pecan waffle is sweet and has a malty, unexplained flavor that is so good. I love the skillets too, I had one with mushrooms, cheese and avacado with potatoes and scrambled eggs. The potatoes are creamy and delicious. A huge portion. It comes with a bread and I had a biscuit which was fantastic and homemade, nothing like a southern biscuit at all. The banana bread is also good. The BEST hash browns I have EVER had! Ate here twice on a recent visit. Compelled to by the perfectly crisp hash browns made creamy and tart with just the right amount of sour cream. And the bread? Also a delicious treat, wholesome and hearty. On my second visit, I dined alone at the counter (seat yourself, which makes it a little easier for a single to squeeze in a quick breakfast despite an understandably long wait for tables). The kind gentleman sitting next to me indulged me with friendly conversation and generously surprised me by picking up my tab on his way out -- he left without me getting a chance to say thank you! I don't understand WHY this places gets so much hype! A bunch of people kept recommending Skillets, and because my family lives right across the street we finally did. Let me first start by saying, we LOVE breakfast. We eat out for breakfast twice a week, and eat have it for dinner at home at least once a week, so we're no strangers to breakfast foods ... The food at Skillets was gross. Not bad, GROSS. Between 3 people and 3 different meals, we each ended up eating mostly bread. The corned beef hash was some funky, shredded recipe that tasted nothing like you'd expect if you've ever ordered the dish from another restaurant. (More like corned beef soup you'd eat for St. Patrick's Day.) None of us ate our hash browns, which the waitress insisted we would love because "Skillets is famous for them" ... and to top it off, the food was WAY overpriced! Our bill came to about $60, before tip!! In addition to the poor food, the restaurant was extremely loud, and the hardwood, cushion-less chairs extremely uncomfortable. The only positive thing about our experience was the service. The woman was very nice and knowledgeable of their extensive menu, which was helpful as first time customers. Unfortunately, we will most definitely never be returning to Skillets. read more

My wife and I have been coming here for years and although I rarely eat "breakfast" food we absolutely love this place! Pros- The bacon is close to perfect. All of their food (that I have tried) has been very, very good with much of it decadent. The prices are very reasonable. Service is good. Really, what more can you ask for? A phenomenal breakfast, every time. I can't remember a time where my meal was subpar, and I've been there several dozen times over the course of the last decade or so. Creative menu that features your standard breakfast and lunch entrees (in full disclosure, I have yet to try the lunch items) as well as items that are "kicked up" a notch, like the South of the Border omelet with melty jack cheese and loads of pickled jalapenos covered in a ranchero sauce. But for me the real star is their huevos rancheros - always delicious, always consistent. The corn tortillas always manage to stay together when covered with the eggs, chorizo, ranchero sauce, and tomatoes. The black beans are great, and a little sour cream and hot sauce makes every bite delicious. The bacon is truly exceptional, if somewhat pricey for a side order of three strips, and the pancakes are normally gigantic, and full of whatever you request inside (blueberries, for instance). Another standout side is the Skillets potatoes - hash browns mixed with sour cream and/or cream cheese and scallions - crunchy on the outside, tender in the middle. Some of my favorites anywhere. They often have unique specials, and their scones, with a different flavor each day, tend to be quite good and not dry! If you order coffee, you are given a carafe so you don't have to scan the room for a refill. Service tends of be friendly and efficient; however, the last few visits over the past couple of months this location seems to be understaffed; there are plenty of empty tables, both inside and out, but there's still a (short) wait where they give you a pager (this is based on my weekend experiences - in the past, there seems to have been a longer wait but a genuinely full restaurant without the tables sitting empty). In any event, it's a delicious breakfast spot where you can get a simple breakfast or a creative one, and know that the portions will be huge and you'll leave satisfied. read more

Came here twice in three days. It was the best breakfast we had during our visit to Naples. I got the French toast, which was very good...but the star of the breakfast was their thick sliced bacon. It was cooked perfectly (not too crispy where it loses flavor but not too chewy where it tastes fatty). They definitely got it right. My platter also came with a little cup of fresh fruit, which was a pleasant surprise. The second time I went I got the blueberry pancakes. A lot of blueberries but they were tiny and almost looked like canned blueberries instead of fresh ones. Coffee and their fresh squeezed orange juice in a frosty mug was also good. All in all, the breakfast is a little pricy, but it's ok so splurge a little when on vacation. read more

Rye bread was tan colored white bread. Tuna melt why bother. Dry, made not with Hellman's mayo. One slice of thin cheese melted on it. Cole slaw was good. Anyway we were not charged. The pancakes looked very good though. Maybe at some point I will return for pancakes and, or waffles.
