As a die-hard fan of a certain football team that chants "Skol," I had to check it out--and I'm beyond glad I did. The atmosphere is incredible, with a Nordic-inspired design featuring antler chandeliers and a massive forest-themed wall mural that makes you feel like you're in a Scandinavian lodge. Adding to the fun, if you look closely, you'll spot portraits of the owners dressed in Nordic-style attire--a cool, quirky touch that makes the space feel even more unique. The bartenders, Ryan and Preston, were beyond helpful. They didn't just pour drinks; they took the time to give me a complete menu breakdown, walking me through their top recommendations and what makes each beer special. You could tell they truly love what they do and take pride in the bar's offerings. When I confidently ordered the Uff-da Double IPA and pronounced it correctly, they were visibly impressed--and let's be honest, that's not an easy beer name for everyone to nail! It was a small but fun moment that made me feel right at home. Speaking of beer, the Uff-da Double IPA is a must-try. Bold, hoppy, and packed with flavor, it's exactly what you want in a double IPA. I also had the chance to chat with John, the bar manager, who was incredibly knowledgeable about the bar's origins and how Skol Brewing, which opened on January 9, came to be. Turns out, it's owned by Drew and Gary, two Minnesota natives, which explains why this place feels like a slice of home. But the surprises didn't stop at the beer. They serve a Minnesota favorite--the Juicy Lucy! If you don't know, it's a burger stuffed with melted cheddar cheese, and this one was absolutely fantastic--one bite, and I was transported straight back home to Minnesota. And just when I thought it couldn't get better, I discovered they have ax throwing! Meghan was awesome, letting me try five free throws, and I have to say--my knife-throwing needs some serious work... but the throwing stars? Piece of cake and insanely fun. If you're feeling adventurous, you can throw knives, axes, and stars for an extra charge, and it's 100% worth it. And if you're a Minnesota Vikings fan, this place is a must-visit during football season. They host watch parties, and every time the Vikings score a touchdown, it actually SNOWS inside the bar. I know, it sounds wild--it's probably a foam machine--but either way, it's an awesome touch that makes game days even more fun. Bottom line: Skol Brewing isn't just a bar--it's an experience. Was visiting Atlanta in November for a conference and did my typical Yelp search for a local brewery. I was visiting from the Pacific Northwest and looking for a good IPA. I had no issue finding something delicious to drink, not to mention I had our hard time picking between two that were exceptional. The food was also great having tried the smoked brisket sandwich. Pretty cool newly opened place. Really like the ambiance and food was really good. Just need to work on a few things. With this good of food, can I have real silverware to eat with instead of plastic ware. This is advertised as a brewery. They only had 2 of their beers on the menu...and the one they were out of! Had 6 other local brew on the menu...and they were out of at least one of those too. Need to have more than 5 or 6 beers on tap to really be a "brewery" in my mind. I've been wanting to go back to Skol Brewing since they officially opened. I attended a soft opening and loved it. The food, service and decor did not disappoint. Lynix was our server and he was absolutely amazing. He was so attentive, helpful, and had such a great personality. I came with a large party and we ordered a variety of food and drinks. For apps, we ordered the onion rings, roasted brussel sprouts, giant soft pretzels and the smoked wings. For entrees, a good amount of us ordered the Berserker burger. While the rest ordered the Juicy Lucy, chicken tenders and the Viking Club Sandwich. For cocktails, a few people order an old fashioned while the rest of us ordered the hard cider. The grumpy granny was the crowd favorite. Everything came out hot and fresh. For dessert, we all wanted to order the ice cream sandwich, but they were out of the flavors we wanted, so we settled for the vanilla creme brûlée. Surprisingly, it was better than we expected but I will definitely be back for an ice cream sandwich. Preferably, a cookies and cream , confetti or sugar cookie ice cream sandwich. Draft beers tested: - The Bear as advertised, nice lager - Northwoods, good slightly sweet dark lager - Big Daddy 2, decent pilsner - Space Wrangler, fruity white ipa, not my alley but exactly as adversited - Norske Nightfall, dark lager but this one was very lame, little taste and not at all what it should've been Skol Dip was basic chips, doritos and celery etc, the dip itself was very good. read more

Wow! SKOL Brewery was amazing! My wife and I visited Atlanta for her bday weekend. We are Vikings season ticket holders so we couldn't miss the game. We saw on the Vikings fan page Skol Brewery was a place to watch the game. September 14 against the 49ers was a big match up to see where the Vikings stand in the 2024 season. The atmosphere was second to none! We've been to multiple cities for vacation and have watched games with Vikings fans throughout the country. Skol brewery has it all. Awesome food! Awesome beer and ciders! Fans were awesome! Our favorite was the fake snow that falls between scores! Just like the pregame at US Bank Stadium. They have a DJ that plays chants and music during commercials to keep the party going. One of the host walked around with name tags to help show your hometown. This is very helpful and cool to see which part of MN you represent. A super fan walked in with full fan gear. He had horns, lights, and a drum to hype up the crowd. Every first down he was on it! Disappointed. Stopped before a concert and admittedly it was pretty busy. Not slammed, but busy for a Tuesday evening. Myself and two friends tried an assortment of their craft beer. Meh. Nothing of interest between 5 different beers and the cider. Best thing I had was the beet side salad. That was tasty. My friends jucy Lucy burger, he said, was ok. My bratwurst was ok. But they covered it with relish. Way too much. The bun was toasted, dry and split down the center when it arrived at the table. The onion rings looked so good!... but were really greasy and had no flavor. Over cooked and tasteless. My other friend tried the brisket sandwich and he thought it was good, not great. I had a bite of the brisket and it was tasty. Just had higher hopes. Service was kind but slow (they were busy). The fastest response was when we asked for the check... which is probably the only thing the server had in her control. Cool spot with a lot of interesting and tasty drinks. We has a few sandwiches that all came out great and some extra sides like the brussel sprouts that were crispy and so satisfying. What an awesome find nestled in the heart of Atlanta! If you love a good micro brew this is the perfect place! And if you're a Vikings fan it's even better! Stopped here when we missed out connecting flying through Atlanta, wanted to see the Vikings/Packer game and found this to be a true Viking stronghold!
