    Views from our balcony!

From the moment we stepped in the building we knew it was our next apartment. Not only cause of the layout of the building and our apartment, but because of the convinces they have in the entire building. They have parking, an Amazon delivery lockbox, codes and key fobs to get in and out of the building, tremendous AC, two elevators you can't move without the fobs (great for anyone that's not supposed to be there), two trash locations with recycling (rare out here from what I've seen), a weight room, a rec room with computers and a pool table, a patio with a grill and furnishing, and a ton of great people within the building. The best guy though? Adam McGuire, your leasing agent. This dude is the most caring, friendly, hard working guy outta this entire building. He makes sure your stay is as comfortable and smooth as humanly possible. You will catch him roaming around the building checkin on everything, in his office doing paperwork, and even setting up events for tenants to have a good time and mingle!! If you have a problem in this complex, Adam will get it solved. Their maintenance crew is fantastic and have fixed everything that needed repair without having to come back multiple times. It's a one and done typa job. Everyone who works here is super friendly and they keep the place clean and looking nice with all the flower beds outside your doors! They make it feel like home! Your elevators in the building can be wonky, but it's mainly due to other tenants horsing around in it. You'll see random spills, receipts left behind, etc. it's nothing bad and it's never a mess. Just something I needed to point out. As a former tenant, I would completely recommend SkyLA as your new home! We had an amazing year, and if I didn't need to be closer to LA, would have stayed for years!

For starters, I'd like to state the obvious by saying. Adam is hands down the best building manager I've ever had the pleasure of working with not only within SkyLA's community, but period. (Sapir was also exceptional. *One time I was stuck in the elevator, and she legit muscled her way in so I didn't have to wait til dispatch arrived. She's was, and still is my hero. (: ) He's professional, personable, reliable, and exudes the kind of care you sorta either have, or don't. He's so good at his job that there have been interim fill ins, and it just isn't the same. No exaggeration, I've waited til he's gotten back to tend to something because the level of aptitude just isn't the same. Since Adam has been appointed to SkyLA, even the property has improved. The back patio is decked out with aesthetically pleasing lights creating a level of ambiance that makes you actually want to utilize the space. The gym received new additions which for me was a game changer because, I work from home as a personal trainer. The building itself is now maintained better than ever. Work orders don't take forever, and a day to be attended to, or in the least acknowledged. Interactive announcements, general updates, and get togethers are organized, and posted in an attempt to bring the building and residents closer together. In all seriousness, this place wouldn't be what it is without his hard work + dedication. Anyway, enough about Adam... LOL The artwork in the enclosures are so greatly appreciated with many of them promoting positivity, and feel good messages to send you on your way. IYKYK. The second floor offers a beautiful plethora of greenery that I swear when you walk by offers a sense of serenity. The lobby offers (I wanna say Amazon.) lockers, so you have the comfort of not having your stuff stolen, or just sitting there out in the open. Because a fob is required to get anywhere other than ground level in the elevator, it offers a sense of security considering you're stuck without it. The maintenance along with cleaning crew (lady) is top notch. & they (Moss & Company) GET THIS even go as far as making it smell good within the property. & I'm not referring to those glade thingies that spray aerosol that may, or may not accidentally spray you in the process. Like, they legit hired somebody to make this happen. For example, in the gym there's a contraption that keeps it from getting funktified up in there. I'm here for it. I'm here for SkyLA.

The residents are manageable, and Adam and his staff go above and beyond for all of the residents here.

UPDATE -- 2.75 YEARS IN…read more The office staff, maintenance crew, and cleaning team continue to be great, and the grounds are kept clean and well-maintained. However, I need to update my ongoing concern about the parking garage as seen in previous reviews. For approximately 18 of the last 24 months, the garage door has not been functioning properly -- leaving the building unsecured for the majority of our tenancy. We got lucky for a while, but a couple of months ago it finally caught up with us: our vehicles were broken into. I notified the office, obtained the security footage, and filed a police report, making it explicitly clear that the garage door needed to be permanently fixed. Nothing was done. Last night, the situation escalated dramatically. Our vehicles were stolen from our assigned parking spaces and at least one of them was taken on a joyride. Someone is systematically and skillfully gaining access to vehicles without keys, and they are taking direct advantage of this building's chronically broken garage door to do it. This is no longer a minor maintenance inconvenience -- it is a serious and ongoing safety failure that management has had ample time and opportunity to address. Prospective residents should factor this into their decision.

This is the worst place to live. There is always something broken and never gets fixed correctly…read more Garage doors are always broken, elevators break down often, homeless people walk the garage area and sh*t in the bike storage areas. Moving out is even worse. They charge for every single thing. We didn't wear shoes in the apartment but somehow the carpet still needs replaced even though there was no stains. Damage fee? And paint fee? They want you to fix everything before moving out. Otherwise they charge tooth and nail to do it themselves. Even though their storage rooms are full of paint? I've never lived in an apartment that charged to repaint. We even had a cleaner detail the whole apartment after we were completely moved out. And we're getting less than $200 back from our deposit?

Anytime we had maintenance questions, parking questions, rent questions, etc., they always came through with a solution or follow up. The maintenance folks were always on time and fixed things as soon as I submitted the request. Everyone was friendly. The washer and dryers were accessible and I never had an issue with using it. That was a plus since we did laundry weekly. We loved how clean the apartment building was both inside and outside. If announcements were made regarding construction or rules, it was communicated to us well via posts around the building and email. If you are looking for an apartment near the freeway, grocery stores, and is quiet, then this is the place for you. I read the information and searched for reviews online and found that it was in a great neighborhood. I was already convinced that the apartment had been rented, but I decided to call anyways. To my delight, Vanessa (the Building manager) told me that the one bedroom was available and that I could see it the same day. As soon, I walked inside the building I knew that I had made the right choice. Vanessa is smart, kind and very accommodating. Customer service 5 stars!! During my application process she went out of her way to meet me on her day off and get all my documentation approved. I had a small issue with my documents but she was able to get me approved! I love how CLEAN the building is! Vanessa has OCD so believe me, I am so thankful for that. It's quiet, clean, affordable, in a great neighborhood. Unfortunately, the place does get filled up fast. A few hours, after I put my deposit down someone else had taken the next available apartment.
