Their coney's are very good with their chili being quite delicious. The 3 way was also really good with the spaghetti, chili, and cheese being a delicious combination. It was my first time in the restaurant, but I have had this style of chili before as it's kind of a regional thing. I opted for the Chili 5-way, which is chili with spaghetti, beans, onions, and cheese. I got a regular, and it was still a pretty good meal. It's served up with little oyster crackers. I immediately noticed a difference in the flavor and found out there's a bit of cinnamon in it. It went well with it. The "chili" wasn't spicy and was a bit on the sweet side. Overall, I did enjoy it. Our server was friendly and very attentive and not overly hovering. Drink refills were made regularly, and we were even offered to go cups. I did want to try their rival Gold Star. The way it was explained to me was it's similar to White Castle vs Krystal's. True locals prefer Skyline while non-locals seem to prefer Gold Star. Since I didn't get to try Gold Star I'll have to make another trip and try them side by side. read more

Service was amazing, the lady that served us was super nice, welcoming, she found out it was my first time and gave me the full experience. On a recent visit to Cincinnati, we tried Skyline Chili and we are glad we did. We had never tasted Cincinnati chili and were intrigued by the idea of spaghetti being in a chili. I ordered the 5 way chili and was pleasantly surprised at how good it was. All the flavors and ingredients were very tasty and satisfying. My husband ordered some hotdogs, while he said, they were good, he definitely enjoyed the chili more. We did a drive-through order, it took a little time, but the young ladies at the window were very friendly and helpful. Our visit here was a nice ending to a five day trip in the area. I would highly recommend anyone going to Skyline Chili to be introduced to this wonderful flavor combination. read more

Our youngest moved out to Phoenix a few years back and this Skyline is pretty close to CVG so it's the one he talks about getting to fresh off the plane. People are nice, food is good & the place is clean so that's all that really matters. I did take a pic of the US Flag and I hope the owners take care of that. This is my neighborhood Skyline so obviously, as a Cincinnatian who loves cheese coneys, I eat here more than I should. The restaurant is always clean, I'm in and out in less than 20 if we eat inside the restaurant, and I love that its staffed by local kids who I've come to recognize over the years. I'm so glad a local friend introduced me to Cincinnati style chili. He had talked about Skyline Chili for years but I just sort of was like "whatever." So on my first trip to Northern Kentucky, we went there. I tried the Coneys, the five ways, and just a good bowl of chili. I love the way Skyline does it! Cincinnati chili is an institution. Essentially a Greek take on the concept of chili, it has an entirely different array of spices than Texas chili. The best that I can describe it is that it's sweeter and has more of a cinnamon flavor than Texas chili. There are a number of chili fast food chains throughout the greater Cincinnati area (and parts of Ohio, Kentucky and Indiana) with Skyline and Gold Star being the largest. The traditional serving comes as either a 3-way, 4-way or 5-way. Although less kinky than it sounds, it is extremely tasty. The 3-way is spaghetti, cheese and the chili. 4-way adds onions and the 5-way adds beans. The fast food chain stores also serve them as cheese coneys with mustard and onions. Skyline also serves things like Greek salads, but why bother? This Skyline is near Buttermilk road and has abundant parking and comfortable seats. The waitstaff (slight difference from other fast food places, the chili parlors of Cincinnati sit you down like a restaurant. I was at skyline today & saw the workers take too much money from a customer. The patron paid for his food, & I saw that the cashier did not give him back the proper amount of money. He told them that they had made a mistake. But the cashier insisted that the customer was wrong & got very rude & belligerent. I have never been at a fast food restaurant where the staff was so rude & incompetent. I have gone to this Skyline multiple times per week. I will not be back to this store again or the other 3 Skyline stores that this franchiser owns. I am quite sure that the staff does this all of the time & is probably doing this to other customers for extra money. Last month when I was there, they tried to overcharge me. Being a California boy, I'd never even heard of Cincinnati Chili. This was my first time experiencing it. I found it odd, but somewhat enjoyable, to eat in a place that has a drive-through but also table service. Our waitress, Mary, was fantastic. When she learned that we were newbies, she took time to explain the menu in detail, and then brought us samples of the chili to make sure that we and the kids knew what it was before ordering it. The chili is more like a sauce, and is Greek-style. New to me. I got a "5-Way", which is spaghetti with chili, cheese, beans, and onions. For pretty much fast food, I really enjoyed it. They said they make everything fresh. It was inexpensive, and had table service. Totally good place if you have kids and want something different than McDonalds. They have Coney Dogs, Greek Salads, and other stuff. We tipped Mary very well, she was awesome. read more

Skyline seems to be the sit down place for Cincinnati Chili. First time so our waitress made a few recommendations and we tried a sampling of them all. Cheese coney, 5-way and chilito. All were great. The chili has a great flavor and a tinge of cinnamon. Service was very friendly and you pay at the counter. Restaurant was clean and had a family vibe. Fast and friendly service. Having tried Skyline and Golf Star chilis in the same week, Skyline is the definite winner for me. I preferred the hot sauce, as well as a thicker better seasoned chili. The cheese was piled high and the food was nice and hot. I just wish I had taken up the waitress' offer for a bib. It wasn't until I walked outside that I noticed a few small spots on my shirt. I have never been more disappointed in a meal at skyline in my life. My order was simple: 3 cheese coneys, no mustard. I pull through the drive-through to pay and pick up my order. My first thought was why are there 5 bags of crackers in here. I didn't think anything of it until I got home and started on my dinner. Sure enough, between the 3x the proper amount of cheese that should be on a coney, and 5 bags of crackers they must have been trying to compensate for something. Guess what? I was right. I literally had less than a spoonful of chili on my coney! Hoping that it was only one of them I immediately dug through the mountain of cheese to see if there was any chili on the other two.. But of course there wasn't. Not to try and make excuses for the lack of service, but I could even understand doing something like this if they were about to close, but they weren't. They were open for another 2 1/2 hours. If I had not thrown away my receipt I would have demanded a refund. I have been eating skyline for over 20 years and have been to countless of their restaurants. This has been by far my worst experience and I probably will never come back to this one. For many years our family has gone to Skyline every day after church, classy I know, and it has never let me down! Although I am a fairly plain eater at these locations, always going with cheese-fries with the cheese on the side, the service is what brings me back. The waitresses are constantly welcoming and treat you like you are at home. You'd see 4 kids working standing around talking or wrapping silverware when the place looked like a disaster. Waitress takes order then proceeds to 3 more tables gives them drinks and food still no drinks for us I had say something from across the room. Really disappointing.
