At the risk of getting a rude comment from the owner, I'm going to rate my experience at Skyline Kitchen & Vine. I have been to the bar/patio a couple times for a drink but only once for a meal - this time, breakfast. Paying $14 for a meal of eggs and bacon seemed high, but that's life. I figured in its simplicity it would at least be good; it wasn't. My stale bacon "bits" arrived along with a greasy, odd-tasting hash brown. The scrambled eggs came out a few minutes later (?) At least the server was kind enough to bring me the portion that was ready so my friends didn't have to wait to eat their meals. I think this is the first time I've had a restaurant breakfast that didn't come with toast. Most tables were empty, so it wasn't that the kitchen was overworked. Service was polite but slow, pointing to the problem being the kitchen and quality of food. My husbands meal was cold, and both our friends felt their meals were substandard and pricey. I'm afraid my restaurant dollars will have to go elsewhere for now. read more

Dinner is great and we love the sliders best thing on the menu but we decided to try brunch right before Easter and it was horrible!!! They do not know how to make eggs Benedict at all the sauce was plain they don't put Canadian bacon they use prosciutto which was stringy and the eggs were undercooked with the white slimy parts!! The eggs Benedict with crab was fishy and the side potatoes were very bland. They need to fix their brunch and step it up. This experience made me wonder if I ever wanna go out back. read more

Ight soooo this place is pretty dank. They have a similar one in downtown called Liberty Food&Wine Exchange. That place is also very good! It's tapas. So, they're like appetizers and you can share it with your group. It's very good quality food. I have never had any bad experiences with the staff. Great food! Fresh and prompt service. Tapas style dining. They are small portion and a little bit on the pricer side, but enough to share between two people if you order a few. First visit here the other night. Food was good, but I wouldn't call this a tapas place. The menu was pretty small. The environment is like an upscale casual, which I can appreciate. Nice wine and drinks list. The house made sangria was just okay. Staff was nice. We were allowed to sit inside and didn't have to wear masks the whole time which was also nice. Since recently diagnosed with Celiac disease (cannot have any form of gluten) I have been reluctant to dine out. To my relief, Erin, a thoughtful server made notes on a menu to help those with dietary restrictions make a safe choice. I enjoyed the grilled salmon tacos, cooked perfectly and topped with pineapple salsa - delish. My friends enjoyed the Kobe sliders and fries, too. Here's the menu. I've been to the Skyline location twice now, as well as once at the Sierra street location. The food here is amazing, and the service was exceptional on all three occasions. Both locations have great happy hour deals, good cocktails, and the food was consistent and delicious. I recommend the bacon wrapped dates, filet medallions, brussel sprouts, and the Kobe sliders. One of my favorite restaurants in Reno is their sister location downtown, Sierra St. Kitchen and Cocktails. I already knew what to expect as far the tapas style menu, but wow was I blow away with the extras at this place! The wine and beers on tap selection is extensive. As well as a nice retail section that had my husbands favorite beers, so now I dont have to go to a store to get 'em. They also have my favorite cocktails that are at Sierra St. The food was just as amazing. They even have a larger 8oz burger if sliders won't cut it. Oh and French fries and sweet potatoes tater tots you can add on! It was great to have Colby as our server here, as he was one of our favorites downtown. I cant forget the beautiful seating outside! This is a must try place! And my family's new favorite! read more

This has become one of our go to restaurants in Reno. We have eaten both the apps and full plates. Favorites on the app menu for me is the bacon wrap dates and the ahi they are a must to get started with. My favorite has been the lamb shanks which just melt in your mouth. I would give five stars just for the lamb. Also the sirloin tips with gnocchi are right up there with the lamb. When you enjoy this restaurant don't be in a rush as the food is prepared fresh and takes some time to come out. read more

A great new Restaurant on Skyline. The overall feeling on the place is airy and open. It has a large patio for outdoor dining and a garage door that opens the outside to the inside. The small plates menu gives you an opportunity to try a lot of different dishes and flavors. They are in soft opening mode and I feel will continue to get better and better. The food is very flavor-able and creative with something for everyone. I think a note on the menu says it all. Dude who was our waiter was super cool. He also made us THE coolest purple drink ever, it was delicious. I tried 3 different things here, the tuna nachos which was a nice light bite, the gnochii, and then the wagyu sliders. We have been here many times and it was always a 4 star restaurant. We went here about 2 weeks ago and it has really gone downhill. The food was poor and the service was also. Many of the original staff have left. We won't be going back any time soon. read more

Bad, slow service and they kicked us out at 9pm on a Saturday night because they said they were closing. Food was average.

Its Valentines Night , ended up finding a table for dinner here. The Host was Super Friendly and Kind.... Points Us over to a Table in the back corner ( doesn't even take us there). We sit down at a Small Square Wire see through table that is so unsteady that we had to ask the waiter to "Stabilize It" for us before we can even have waters placed. We order a House Pinot, apparently the waiter decided to pick an Expensive Glass of his Choice . We order 1 appetizer, bruschetta. It was ok, but lacked in spice & flavor. it Was a Very Small portion, but wasn't even good enough to finish. We ordered our Entrees ; I picked Seared Scallops and Risotto and my date had the filet mignon. both were "Delicious"!!!! The Portions were again "Super Small" and we basically scraped our plates because we were both still hungry . I asked what they had for dessert and was Pleasantly Surprised to hear they had Banana Fosters.... And I was Hoping that it would be prepared @ the table considering the cost!!! The waiter brought acouple scoops of Vanilla Ice Cream and a small bowl of warm bananas in a cinnamon syrup ( I was Soooo disappointed)!! Then the check came, we both were in Utter Shock!!! We actually thought they gave us the wrong check , but it was ours . Not only did we get Charged an Astronomical Amount for the minimal amount we ordered, we were automatically charge 20% on the bill for the tip..... we had house red , 1 appetizer, 2 entrees and 1 dessert and were charged like we were in some Sophisticated French restaurant prepared by a Famous Chef . Again, the entrees were delish but by No Means were they even close to what we were charged. After leaving we went to a Cocktail Bar and ended up ordering appetizers because we were still hungry!!!!!! I will Never go there again, nor will I ever suggest that anyone go there. I would really love to give this place 5 stars because the food is great, it is a beautiful space and the service was wonderful. However....damn these small plates are expensive! Surf and Turf consisted of two scallops, two small pieces of filet and a small scoop of risotto for $30!! We could get a lobster tail and a whole piece of filet for that at many many other nice places. I want to support locally owned neighborhood restaurants, and the food is really good but we can't justify spending $100 on some small plates of food and one glass of wine. Is that the reason this large restaurant was mostly empty on a Saturday night?? Major bummer read more

We loved this place the first couple of times we ate there. Our last couple visits just haven't been great. Last night we ordered one of our favorites on the menu of small plates - Mac and cheese. We have had this before and loved it. Last night, there was so much garlic on it (never remember garlic before) that all you could taste was garlic. It was also lacking any pancetta flavor which was one of our favorite parts before. They were out of things on the menu, they had a gumbo that was sub-par - it was just disappointing. We ordered my favorite dessert of creme brûlée and it was only okay. Our server was very sweet but spent a lot of time chatting with customers at the bar so was slow to respond to our table. We really want to continue is to love this spot because it's close and fun. But if the food isn't worth the expense..... read more

From walking in to walking out the worst experience I've had in this restaurant. We sat ourselves because the host was busy talking to a table of four and didn't notice we came in. We sat for 20 minutes then I got up and approached the host and if they were still open. Waited another few before the waiter dropped two glasses of water and literally picked the virtual menu up and threw it down and said "here's your menu". I like to occasionally try new to me locally owned restaurants instead of our usual haunts every so often . So this was our first time and last time at skyline kitchen . Yes as previous reviews state this very much appears to be a neighborhood hang out which I am all for but for us a one and done mostly because the service was done if the worst I have ever experienced. We got there and were seated at 5:40pm we were not able to leave until about 7:15 and we only had 3 appetizers and dessert. When we sat we were greeted by a busser type person who brought us water then immediately after our server who wanted to take our order we asked for a little time to see the menu. Well that turned into another 15 minutes at which he took our drink order and then literally another about 15 to bring our drinks and then take our order. The food then seemed to take quite a while , we were done with our drinks sitting for a while and finally at to wave at our server to come over so we could order second drinks . I first tried one if there cocktails from the menu and they were just so so , at which time for my second drink I simply ordered vodka soda and requested my favorite vodka (Tahoe blue). When my drink arrived I took a sip and immediately thought they forgot I wanted a premium vodka because it tasted like a very cheap kind with that awful strong bitter taste and Tahoe blue is a more tasteless glacier water type taste . I flagged the server again (as you can tell he never would come over and asked how things were). I asked him if he could check what vodka they used . He picked up my glass took it with him and then returned my same glass and said no they used Tahoe blue. I felt shocked he carried my glass around the restaurant and then just brought back my same one. I accepted what he said , food came and the taste of things was decent but one item we ordered was called lettuce wraps yet it was two spears of romaine that had chicken and sauce sitting on it with no way to really eat it on the lettuce let alone share it very cleanly, to me lettuce wraps that I have had anywhere else are leafs of lettuce of some way that you can use it as a vessel for the accompaniment . We order 2 desserts , one was what we ordered and one wasn't too high the runner brought back and then it took a few before we got the second dessert ( we were done with the first before the second came) . We asked the bus person who cleared if he could get our check and that ended up taking a while . Through all of this one thing to add was there was never any apology for any of it. read more

Been to this location a couple times since they opened. Excellent food and consistently good service. Nice to see more dining options in this area of town. Love the meatballs and scallops!
