Went here for the first time for Valentine's dinner. Both of us were not that impressed. The basketball game on the TVs didn't help create a romantic dinner. I felt like we were a sports bar. The sangria was one of the worst that we have had. Watered down and minimal flavor. The arugula salad was really good. The meat of the entrees were pretty good as well but the ratatouille was extremely salty and the fingerlings were so hard it was difficult to cut them with a butter knife. The cheesecake was pretty good and the strawberry raspberry dessert was mediocre. Wait staff was alright. Overall, we didn't feel it was at all worth the almost $200 that we were charged. read more

I don't usually write reviews unless they are well deserved or just plain fall short. Unfortunately this experience was the latter. My wife and I did the Sierra Selection, pick 4 small plates for $28, and an order of the Kobe sliders $12.50. We ordered the caprese salad, thai chicken lettuce wraps, mini meatballs in sweet thai sauce, and flank skewers. We also ordered the creme brulee for dessert. First out was the caprese salad which would have been fine except for the hair that was in it. Hair in food is understandable, but not excusable. The balsamic reduction had been reduced a little too much giving it a bitter burnt taste. Next up was the mini meatballs. They are advertised as a "sweet thai chili glaze on crispy polenta." The meatballs themselves were fine but the "glaze" was more of a "lake" at the bottom of the bowl. Unfortunately the "lake" made the polenta mushy and the flavors just didn't work. Excusable was the piece of bone fragment that my wife bit into on her second bite. Third up was the flank skewers and the Kobe sliders. The flank skewers were just ok. The flavors were pretty boring and the steak was just plain chewy. The Kobe sliders were good but needed something more than the steak sauce aioli. Last out were the chicken lettuce wraps. My wife really liked these, I on the other hand thought they were just ok. The lettuce wasn't crispy enough making it hard to corral the toppings. The sauce was good and the chicken was prepared well. What I didn't like were the long carrot ribbons that were all over the place. Carrot matchsticks or just appropriately sized carrots would have been much easier to eat. At the end of the meal we tried the creme brulee. It wasn't as creamy and fresh tasting as I like it but it was good. My only complaint was that whoever torched the top over caramelized and burnt a quarter of the top making it bitter. After hearing good reviews from friends I was sadly disappointed and will not be back. Service was good, but to be fair we showed up at 6:30 and there was only 1 other table that was occupied. I thought it was little weird for a Saturday night. read more

This is our new favorite place to eat in Reno. They serve tapas and the price is extremely fair and the portions are slightly bigger than other tapas style restaurants but not overly large. The food was simply amazing. The bacon wrapped dates and the bison sausage and spaetzle were to die for! We also got a bananas foster that was delicious! Our drinks were fantastic as well. My manhattan was 6 dollars and tasted like it was made with ingredients in a 18 dollar cocktail. The service was absolutely great!! We will be back multiple times! read more

This was my second time at Skyline and I must say the quality of food and selection of drinks continues to impress me. I had the pick 4 small plates-meatballs/polenta, steak skewers, beet salad, bacon wrapped dates. Also hit the ahi nachos. All well cooked, flavorful, and well suited for sharing. This is our second time at this diamond in the rough. A well appointed restaurant with a very welcoming hip decor. The best part is the personnel & the delicious food. Their chorizo stuffed Crimini mushrooms are fantastically tasty and not too hot! Well prepared Wedge & Caprese salads are delicious! Their Short Rib, Red Wine large plate with accompanying puréed potatoes are delightfully reminiscent of a French Provancle dish. The menu is quite extensive with a variety of choices that are sure to please! In addition the great menu...they also have a very extensive wine & beer choices! Dan is a most graciously informative host. This is a place to make it a frequent spot to enjoy good food & drink! read more

Realistically this should be a 3.5 star review but I guess I can't do that. This place IS awesome and usually has great service. The burger is pricey but delicious. The burger is $14.75 and does not come with fries. I'm ok with paying that since it's "Kobe" and delicious! However on our most recent visit our burgers came on a cheap bun you'd get at a backyard BBQ that fell apart in our hands. I can't remember if it was previously brioche but it was DEFINITELY a more substantial bun. If they switch back to that I'll happily update my review but since the burger is about the only thing I eat there I have to rate it low for the time being. I'm so so very sad. The risotto was inedible, like cream of wheat . Gordon Ramsey would have cut the chef, servers and expediters off at the knees. The Brussels were undercooked. The simple Caesar salad was plain. The only redeeming value was the Rombauer Zin ... the tip was factored in at 20% which we probably would have done anyway but No LOVE on this Valentine's Day. The place is very cute and the set up is nice. The food was pretty good overall but the service was what lacked here. Upon arrival a man walked by us waiting at the front (not host I guess?) and asked how many (there was two of us) then just pointed to a table outside and didn't walk us to it or say a word. Then our server was decent. She took our order which I guess is better than ignoring us but she was not very friendly at all and it almost was awkward when she would come around. One thing that I thought was strange was we were only about half way through our meal when she brought the check then waited a long time after we were done to even come back and pick it up Overall cute place, good atmosphere, pretty decent food but the servers were not friendly at all read more

Love going to Skyline Kitchen & Vine! It's located on Skyline Avenue near the top where S. McCarran stop light is at. Very nice conversion from the previous use being a blighted gas station. Love going there for dinner and also just for dessert! It just has happened the last few times I have gone to this restaurant I have had a server that has always been very welcoming, extremely knowledgeable with great recommendations, and always on top of things, while having amazing customer service! Request Hannah! I would highly recommend requesting Hannah when you go there because it's guaranteed you will have the best experience if she is your server. read more

Great food, terrible service. We came here to celebrate my friend's birthday. None of us had been here before. Long story short, the food was great and the service was terrible. I ordered a bottle of wine and it was brought to the table and not presented to me and I was not offered a pour. Before I knew it he had opened and poured the WRONG bottle. However, he was gracious enough to replace it for us. We had to wait over 10 minutes for a glass of additional wine. The food was delicious, however the Brussel sprouts were undercooked. No wine service. We had to pour our own wine. The wait staff appeared as if they didn't know what they were doing and attempted to bring us things we didn't ordered. FYI the wine bottle prices do not reflect an additional $9 that's added on it you want to open the bottle at your table. They also added a gratuity of 20% to our check, above the industry standard of 18%. This place is new and needs to figure out some things. Great food, high prices and horrible service. For small plates and wine you're better off elsewhere like Centro on California. read more

First visit and probably last. It was just OK. My order was the parmesan risotto and scallops. I don't think either had any spices!!! very bland! also had the gnocchi with filet tips as an appetizer, that arrived to our table AFTER the entree. Gnocchi was mushy. Again very bland. Really nice atmosphere- very open and inviting! I remember when this place opened as a mini market- quite a change! The food was very good, fresh and came to the table quickly. We ordered Fresh oysters - yummy mignonette , but I missed the horseradish. Bacon wrapped dates- super crispy bacon, the dates were a little mushy- but taste was spot on, salad wraps were perfectly messy, and bread pudding was Devine! This place is now my absolute favorite place to come to every time I'm in Reno. Megan and the staff are just so nice and mindful about their customers. They would check in on us at the right moment. The food was delicious. And the best part about the food was the quantity of each item. We ordered steak and shrimp and it came with veggies and mashed potatoes. After we were done we felt full but not stuff and I think I really liked that about here. The crab cakes are a delicacy! I enjoyed every single bite of it... coming to the best part - they are DOG FRIENDLY! And not just by name but they actually love dogs. They accommodated food for my dog and brought him a water bowl. My dog took an absolute liking to them and kept giving them dog hugs every time they would come to our table. They were so nice to our pup that they won my heart and I am 100% going to be a recurring customer every time I'm in town. Thanks guys! We left very happy and satisfied with the food. Skyline and vine is one of the most amazing restaurants in Reno. It has a great atmosphere, with amazing servers and awesome food. Sean the bartender was very friendly and recommended great wine and drinks. Our server heather was on top of everything, we never needed to ask her for anything because she had it all handled. Our first time was great! My husband and I decided to sit outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. We went on a Thursday and they had live music that day. Eric Anderson was amazing!! He sang and played the keyboard. I loved the atmosphere. The food was phonomenal! (Not a fan of the Mac and cheese) but everything else was perfect. My husband loved the bacon wrapped dates the best. However, the service was not very good. Our waitress didn't inform us of happy hour we had to hear it from a server telling another table. Which isn't that big of a deal. She only checked on us a couple of times and we had to keep asking another server for beverage refills. I wasn't too happy about that. Although the service wasn't great, the food and entertainment made up for it. We definitely will be returning and bringing our friends to join. read more

I had no idea this place opened two weeks ago. The staff was solid and the food great. The oysters were shucked perfectly with a good dose of brine juice, but were not presented on ice. Not a problem, they were gone in a minute. Loved the lamb chops, perfectly cooked with a tasty chimichurri sauce. read more
