French Fries - for plain square cut fries, these are great
    R D.

Really surprised at how good it was. Stopped in on a Wednesday just before 4p and timed it before any crowd at all. Staff was friendly and responsive and food was quickly served to my car. Ordered a simple cheeseburger, fries and root beer. It all was great. Nice fresh bun but not just any white bread bun either, it was great texture and flavor. Burger patty was good too. But the fries were the best. Must've gotten them at the perfect timing out of the fryer. Golden crunchy exterior and super fluffy inside with a good potato flavor. Pic doesn't do it justice. I'm not a local to Akron and I know Swenson's is prevalent, but I tried Swenson's twice while in town and was disappointed each time. Skyway is the place I will try again.

My family and I were car-shopping nearby when I opened my Yelp app and saw a Yelp ad for Skyway. My Mom and I were sooo happy -- we used to go to the one in Stow when it was open. We're not familiar at all with Akron, so we were happy campers to see this old-fashioned goodness was just 1/2 a mile away. Skyway has been around since the 1950's, and truly, the old school roots are what makes it so much fun. You pull up (lights for service!) and place your order with the guy or gal who runs out to your car. The menu is full of good ol' favorites. Burgers, fries, floats and malts, you name it. The intergenerational crowds of cars around you really speak to this. In the words of my Mom, "it's so hard to find a good malt anymore" -- and Skyway has that authentic, fizzy, rich flavor that is super crave-worthy. No one understands the art of the malt anymore. NO ONE. Shoutout to Skyway for keeping it alive. The menu is inexpensive, so just go ahead and treat yourself to whatever you want. Sauerkraut balls, fries, potato teesers, zucchini sticks... why not! Look, if you've made it this far, you're clearly not worried about calories. You can't go wrong with any of the burgers. They cook them with a little sugar, which is what makes them special. Yum. Just yum. Okay, Skyway, you've proved why you're still around. We'll be back.

Great Burgers yes sirreee! If you want to mix it up Swenson's Dilly's and Sky way boy what a great Area

2 burgers, onion ring, sky hi sauce and a cola.

This is 'thee' burger experience to have. If you incarnate on earth and you want the burger, fried appetizer and cola experience this is the place to get it. I've had five guys, in and out, swensons, all good of course but Skyway has my favorite fast food burgers around, and they are even better than the dine in and sit down restaurants I've had over my lifetime. The onion rings, my favorite ever. Get a side of sky hi sauce to dip them in. In my photos you will see I got the sky hi burger with extra pickles and the half pound burger with extra pickles. Some of my bites even had a full pickle slice in them, this was a delicious meal! Ryan was my server and he was super friendly! I got a chocolate and peanut butter malt to go! You want a semi-sloppy burger that makes you feel like your taking a bite out of heaven? This is the place. It is worth the drive.

There fries were also very nice, crunchy, and spiced well. This is mostly a carry-out joint, but they have a couple of tables inside to eat at. Overall, nice place for lunch.

But whoever is grilling the burgers at the other location is who is keeping me coming back. Other than that, other location is farther from me, it's worth a drive. What I really like about this place is the fresh meat and the disclaimer about the meats and how it's prepare. Well, I didn't like this time around is at the meat lacked seasoning, and the meat did not have that crispy edge or the juiciness in comparison to the other location. Unfortunately, I will not be back to this location unless I'm really thirsty for a good burger. If this is your first time at this location, then yes it's delicious. It's one of the best burgers in Cleveland. If you visit the other location first you're definitely gonna be disappointed when you go to this one.

This place is an Akron institution, and everyone should check it out. Now, I was going to post an update to my review due to a recent visit when I discovered I had never reviewed it, so I'll just tell you about that experience. I stopped in with my six year old after going to the zoo recently. It's perfect for a zoo trip, I think it's less than a five minute drive. It was a bit of an odd time, and we ended up having the restaurant to ourselves. We sat at the bar, and my son ordered a root beer (Bob's own label), a hot dog and fries. I ordered a Bob's Double Cheeseburger with everything, and a side of onion rings. It had been a while since I had been there, and I honestly don't think I've taken my son before. When we pulled in he said it doesn't look special. I told him it's iconic and a throw back, which I don't think he understood. So we are seated at the bar, and I'll say he thought it was pretty cool that he could watch our food being cooked like 4 feet away. He LOVED the hot dog, it's big, I think a quarter pound. He's usually pretty picky on fries, but he ate quite a bit of them, then wanted to take them home, lol. Now on to my food. If you've never had a Bob's Burger before, you are missing out. They are smashed and griddled and just delicious! An Everything is Onion, Pickle, Lettuce, Bob's Sauce, which is like this tomatoey, relishy thin sauce with a bit of tang to it, and Stray Dog mustard. Boy, the combination of the sauce and mustard, with the crunch of the veg and the gooey cheese and smashed, well seasoned patties is just about perfect in my opinion. Certainly a great burger, one of the best in the area imo. And the onion rings are just amazing! Hand battered per order, fried and crunchy, the onion is soft. Without a doubt my favorite in the area! I would be remiss too to not mention the staff. Our waitress was amazing, talking to my kid, asking him questions, just being so nice to him. There were several other people that worked there that came out and talked to him too. It was great! And when we left, my son couldn't quit talking about how special that place was after all!

In the past several years, ownership has changed hands 3-4 times and they've gotten further from what made them so good each time. I visited today and it will be my last attempt. There are several things you can do to ruin a great burger and they seem intent on checking all of the boxes. Weird, grainy and overly sweet "house made" ketchup: Check Oversized bun that is dense and almost stale? Check Horrible locally made pickles? Check Hopping on board with the weird trend of putting some of the condiments on the top bun and some on the bottom bun? Check I could go on, but nothing about the food at this place resembles anything they served during the glory days that allowed them to stay in business for multiple decades. Some people don't understand the concept of "If it ain't broke..". Too many Food Network style ideas with very poor execution. As soon as I saw the word "confit" in the description of today's special burger, I should have turned around and left.

It's worth noting that they share a space with Magic City Brewing and when walking in, it wasn't immediately clear what we were supposed to do. The only bartender on staff wasn't particularly talkative/welcoming in the sense of explaining what was going on or how things worked ...and the Cult Kitchen staff are behind a window past the bar. (I dont necessarily blame CK for the MCB bartender, but they're choosing to share that space and it's part of the experience so it seems like it's relevant.) We sat down at a booth and realized was a small table sign with a QR code for the food and drink menu. Below the codes is a small line of text that explains to go to the Cult Kitchen window for food and go to the bar for drinks. This isn't necessarily a bad setup, just had to adjust our mindset as it's more casual and in line with a food truck experience. ...like going up to the window more ketchup (it's in little lidded containers) for all those fries ...and cleaning up after yourself, as there is no one busing tables. Again, the food was very good but the overall experience was just lacking. It seems like it could be something really special if the hospitality and service was there!

Place has about 10 (?) tables/booths and then folks sitting around the bar at the brewery side. I imagine on a popular day of the week (we went mid week before the dinner time rush) it could get crowded and loud. Feel of the place is grunge/biker though clean and well kept and without feeling 'theme restaurant'. I would say it has its only unique personality. Had we been more prepared from the restaurant's website for what the place was we might have more enjoyed things. It's just feels more 'out drinking and getting the nibbles' than a destination meal.

Not much banana flavor though but there was a subtle banana hint, so if you like an old fashioned on the sweeter side, I'd say you'd enjoy this cocktail. The food was good, we started with the soup of the day with was a DELICIOUS bacon Mac n cheese soup served with two pieces of naan (the naan was meh but overall good pairing with the soup). I ordered a flight and tried Golden Zip, Mango Rx, Nice Pear!, and Get to Steppin'. Nice Pear! was the standout -- a super crisp, light cider with a ton of flavor. Mango Rx came in second for me: great flavor, smooth, and not too heavy. For food, I chose the New Kind of Kick sandwich, which features a spicy garlic crispy chicken breast topped with beer-battered jalapeño slices, bleu cheese, and peppered bacon on a ciabatta roll. It was absolutely delicious. The fresh-cut fries were great, too. We also grabbed the mozzarella planks after seeing several tables order them. They were definitely tasty, but the marinara sauce didn't quite match the quality -- pretty basic and a little disappointing compared to how good the planks themselves were. Overall, we really enjoyed our afternoon at Missing Falls and will definitely be back soon!
