This is an update to my old review. I use to love this location and was super loyal and only went here. It was very relaxing and peaceful. The music and the decor is the same, but after I came back from working on the road for almost year the nail techs there now are really dependent on using the electric nail file. I think I was even up charged for asking her to not use it. I only get gel manicures so there isn't a need to use one at all. I find when it's used in general it makes my nails weak a brittle. I feel like when I asked her to use a nail file she was not happy about it and the appointment was uncomfortable both times this happened. I'm kinda at the point where I think I'm ready to look for a different nail salon. I don't think I could recommend. I'm just so disappointed because while I was traveling for work I kept saying I can't wait to go to my favorite nail salon in Chicago. I've been dreading getting my nails done now. It feels like a problem is the nail industry that everyone wasn't to use the electric tools when it's not called for. I have found my nails don't hold up when these tools are used.

I have heard so many great things about this nail salon and wanted to try it out. Unfortunately, this is the result of my second nail appointment at the salon and I was and am still speechless. I told the nail technician that I didn't like them (what else do you say when your $55 nail appointment looks like this?) and she blamed it on the color and told me to choose another color. My new manicure still has yellow on the cuticles and looks like someone decided to prank me while doing my nails. A few weeks ago, Scott did a phenomenal job with my nail extension + dip powder nail appointment; however, Vivian really disappointed me. I will not be coming back.

Positives: They took me as a walk-in and offered me a beverage. The staff is really welcoming and nice. I got a short shoulder massage with service and it felt GREAT. Negatives: Nobody who works there wears gloves. They also don't ask you to wash your hands before beginning service. This is a horrible hygiene practice. On top of that I whitenesses several techs (including my own) dust off the dirty towel to re-use for the next patron. My dip manicure is mediocre and not smooth or natural looking at all I live in the neighborhood, but unfortunately won't be coming back.

This Salon is right around the corner of my home so it is very convenient and the technicians are super friendly. My favorite girl is Kay . She is the sweetest when you get talking to her and she really takes care of my nails. She cares about the health of my nails and she listens very well to what I like and don't like. She's amazing ! Clean space

Wendy is the worst. The woman I had been seeing scheduled me weeks earlier then sent a message literally 10 minutes before my appointment that she was on vacation instead of scheduling me before she left. I only went because I tried calling around to other places and no one had openings. New sets of nails leave so much of a gap at the cuticle that they look like they're already a week grown out- this forces more frequent returns for services. The first set of nails didn't even stay on, i had to go back after one week to have them replaced. She claimed it was because of my nails, but I've had nails on them in a similar condition before with no issue. This second set didn't even last a month. I had to return after 8 days for a replacement for 2 nails, she filled the others, then another 10 days later for a fill only to have another nail fall off the day after the appointment, then I attempted a normal 3-week wait and 6/10 had fallen off by the appointment. This last visit to replace the last set for the final natural growth period left me with 3 nails that are crooked on my fingers because I had to keep telling her square tip and not almond, so one side of these 3 nails is straight with my natural nail and the other is severely filed toward the center of my nail. I told her I don't have nails because I like them, that I had them to help mine grow out after another set had damaged them so badly and instead of only filing to smooth, she cut off all of the growth that I had gained from the original set even when I told her again not to. Even at the start of the appointment, she left my nails in remover and foil for so long that it burned me and after I told her I was being burned and to remove them, she only took of two of them so I had pulled my hands out of hers and took the others off myself. She then, with my hands shaking from the burning pain, filed so strongly into one of my fingers that she actually filed an open wound into my skin ignoring me repeatedly saying "ow" and telling her it hurt. Because it was a well-used nail file it ended up infected too. The entire final experience was a horror show.

I initially went in for a no chip mani. Later that night, I realized a few of my nails had some air bubbles (obviously not ideal but I get it, mistakes happen.) I called the next morning and asked if I could come in to get them fixed. They were apologetic and got me another appointment right away (for free, of course). Now my nails are perfect and it was so hassle-free to get them fixed! I know I can trust them to provide excellent customer service. I'll definitely be back!

I came across SL Nail & Spa because my regular salon was all booked up one weekend. Since that visit a couple months ago, this has become my new go-to salon. All of the techs have talent, but I've found that Lisa is my favorite and always provides excellent service. She's careful, yet very time efficient. They offer a variety of beverages and have relaxing music playing. My boyfriend has come with me a few times and his first time said "ok I can see why you come here so often". Be sure to account for parking time if you make an appointment, as parking is a little scarce.

Best dip mani I've ever had, hands down!! It's so natural looking and smooth. Most of the dip I've had always comes out a big chunky. I'm in Chicago for a friend's wedding and needed a new dip manicure last minute. Stumbled upon this place just because it's close to my friend's place. Kay was so meticulous and detail-oriented, and even provided some tips for growing out my nails after I'm done with this set. I've never had anyone provide so much care and attention to her work - she provided suggestions for shape based on the color but always asked for my permission first. It did take awhile (over 2 hours), but they removed my dip and I don't think even charged me for it! The complementary shoulder massage was the icing on the cake. Highly recommend this spa, and request Kay if you can!

One of my favorite spots. I have been there twice now and don't have a negative thing to say. It's clean, simple, and relaxing. I was obsessed with my dip nails and pedicure-perfection! They both lasted significantly longer than I thought they would. The woman who were there were so relaxed and professional. You can tell that this isn't just a business but that they are using products that they believe in. Also, BYOB

They have a wall filled with tons and tons of colors. It can be overwhelming to select a color.

PAMPERED BLISS, GREAT CUSTOMER SERVICE AND EXCELLENT NAIL TECHNICIAN I decided to go here on Sunday, August 25, for a pedicure. My nail technician, Elise, had 5 colors selected which she thought I would like. She was 100% correct. I really liked 3 out of the 5 colors. I went with a beautiful soft pink. I felt like getting pampered and pampered bliss it was! The customer service is always fantastic, friendly and welcoming. The owner is very sweet. Thank you, Elise, for the ice cold glass of water. The salon was quiet on a Sunday afternoon. I arrived at 4 p.m. for my appointment. You do not need an appointment though. If you live in the area, please patronize this nail salon. You will thank me later. They also have a spa in the back where you can also have a professional facial. I have not had a facial yet, but I am seriously thinking about having one the next time around. It was nice to be pampered -- I do not do this enough for myself. I am gradually learning to put myself 1st or make myself a "top" priority. Also, the price point is affordable. I really enjoyed my pedicure. All the dead skin was removed from my heels. The dead skin was removed from my legs. The nail technician, Elise, asked me if I wanted Green Tea or Lavender for the warm water my feet would be soaking in -- I went with the Green Tea. It had a very light, beautiful & relaxing fragrance. I highly recommend this nail salon because: (1) it is affordable (2) the nail technicians are excellent (3) customer service is worthy of five stars and (4) you deserve to be pampered every once in awhile!

**UPDATED REVIEW** Haiyan was so sweet and offered to redo my nails for free. I ended up doing dip powder instead of gel and just paid the difference. Again, she was very meticulous and took her time to make sure they were perfect. I really appreciate her taking the time to fix my nails-the customer service here is great and I'm so happy w my new nails! *PREVIOUS REVIEW* The woman who did my nails was very meticulous and I enjoyed the service when I was there, however the nail art wasn't as advertised and only a week later and there is so much peeling and chipping-nails didn't even last two weeks! They already look terrible

We didn't know…read morewhat to expect, but we were truly satisfied with the service we received, with one exception: the massage. After reading reviews dating back several months, I realized that other people had experienced the same issue. Let me start at the beginning. I made my reservation for a Sunday at noon. When we arrived, we were told that our reservation had been canceled. Naturally, I was confused because I hadn't canceled it. We were asked to take a seat while the staff looked into the matter, and they quickly figured it out. Brittany at the front desk did a wonderful job explaining what had happened. In the end, it turned out to be an error on my end, but she remained friendly, professional, and accommodating. She offered us another date and time and even compensated us for parking. Thank you, Brittany! The bath experience was everything I needed to cleanse my soul. The waterfall area and the eucalyptus sauna quickly became our favorite places. The atmosphere was peaceful, relaxing, and exactly what we had hoped for. Now, on to the massage. My wife and I were in the same room. She had a female therapist, and I had a male therapist. Unfortunately, our experiences were completely different. My therapist spent most of the session lightly rubbing my feet and legs. He never touched my hands, fingers, neck, or head, all of which my wife received during her massage. He did ask whether there were any areas I wanted him to focus on, and I mentioned that I had tension in my upper shoulder area and that I had a shoulder injury. He concentrated primarily on the injured shoulder and very little else. I was genuinely surprised when he told me the session was over. My first thought was, "Wait, where was the rest of the massage?" I would really like to see Aire invest in more experienced massage therapists, especially since this appears to be a recurring concern among guests. That said, the massage experience did not ruin our visit. I would absolutely return, and I would still recommend Aire to my family, friends, and coworkers.

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM…read more Use Caution when booking. I booked my reservation on May 23, 2026 for July 19, 2026 for my 11 year anniversary. Showed up and it was closed due to construction issues with the city. I received no email or phone call that it would be closed. Very embarrassing. I've called over 6x asking asking for a refund $720. Each time I've called it the same response "sorry someone from our management team will call you back". Nobody ever calls me back. I disputed the issue with my credit card company and AIRE responded to them saying that the service was complete forcing me to open another investigation with the city and having to look in legal counsel to take them to court. I am beyond frustrated. Never thought this is how they would do business. Apart of me feels that they lost so much business during the time they were "under construction" that they can't afford to keep the lights on let alone issue a refund. I would stay away.

I loved they had a little display where you can smell the many body butter options before choosing one, and the friendly receptionist gave me her recommendations for a lighter scent. On the tablet you also answer questions about your health related to the massage (sensitive areas or injuries for example) so the masseuse is aware. After I was done they gave me a tour of the women's locker room which was immaculately clean. They had 2 changing rooms, a shower, private bathroom, a sink with lots of amenities, clean towels, slippers, and lockers. They gave me a locker which had my robe to change into. The robe was sooooo soft and fluffy. It had a nice weight to it, like I was wearing a blanket but with pockets! The lounge had soft lighting, a nice variety of snacks and sweets and tea, comfy seating, a journal with little encouraging messages from past patrons, books and coloring, and a heated container with neck pillows that you can use! My masseuse arrived promptly so I enjoyed these amenities after my massage. The masseuse Eric was so lovely! They showed me to a massage room, oriented me to where to put my robe and glasses, and let me know the table was heated and they could adjust it to my preference. They also asked about my massage preferences and areas of focus. Once I was settled in, Eric came back and I had the most relaxing swedish massage! Perfect pressure and balanced on both sides. I was floating after! They brought me tea after and then I spent some time in the lounge. Overall incredible experience. All the staff were lovely, and the experience from entering the spa to leaving was so relaxing. I also loved the have a huge free parking lot! Its a shared parking lot in a plaza, so you can park right in front. It was a bit tricky to get into the lot from the main street if you have to turn left into it (you'll see a large sign for SPF which is a pickle ball spot that shares the lot). I ended up turning left into a small street and finding my way into the lot from there. Definitely check it out for your next spa day!

This time, I decided to schedule a mani & pedi at the end of my week stay as an added treat. When I tell you that I was shocked by my experience here, I mean it. They took me down the stairs after I checked in and I waited in this dark area as people were randomly walking back and forth from the pool area. A woman escorted me into this insanely small room (it looks like a closet) where there were 2 pedicure chairs right next to each other then 2 manicure stations across from that. I truly was shocked. I wanted to leave. Their website and spa detail information is so insanely misleading. This small room they cram you into has no windows, and is at the end of a dark hall. Forget that we are still dealing with the pandemic and there is zero social distancing. The two nail techs that were working were lovely but so obviously under appreciated & overworked. Which is beyond sad. My pedicure was ok but my manicure was the worst I've ever received. I wanted a French tip and the tech haphazardly painted each tip with a regular brush. Not one was the same. The receptionist was appalled when I showed her my nails so she said she would take it off my bill ($65) was removed but I still paid over $150 plus tip for my mani and pedi. In my personal option, they should close down the manicure and pedicure options of the spa. It is not a luxury, high end experience. Quite the opposite. This was not a great way to end our stay here & it put such a bad taste in my mouth. I won't ever come back to the spa for any service at all.
