Contractors accidentally drilled through a water pipe below our garage floor slab yesterday afternoon--meaning that we had to shut off water to the house. Came out to the garage one morning and found us sloshing through water that looked like it came from the laundry room. The laundry room floor was very warm so we suspected a burst pipe under the laundry room We called Slab Leaks plus and Ryan came out and gave us a fair proposal to dry out and reroute our water line from the water heater to our sink in the laundry room. He brilliantly designed a reroute that only required two openings in our drywall ! They also repaired our drywall and retextured our wall expertly so that you cannot even notice that it was repaired. Scott came out shortly after we called him. He was very gruff and rude on the phone, but we were desperate because we thought we had a slab leak. Scott came out the next day and told us the pipe was leaking above the slab. He set up a fan and dehumidifier, which we ran for 4 days (leaky pipe was under our stairs). The work he did for us was adequately done; however, I feel he overcharged for 2 days' work: $5400.00! Also, we endured 2 days of Scott yelling, cursing and berating his assistant. He never even attempted to clean up his mess or put my kitchen cabinet doors back on. I texted him to tell him not to send out his drywall guy as we would use our trusted handyman. The poor drywall guy never got the message from Scott and had driven all the way from San Clemente to No. Orange County. All in all, it was a very unpleasant and expensive experience. I called on Friday evening after a high water bill and realizing our leak detector on the water meter was spinning. Scott was at our house the next morning. He diagnosed the location of our slab leak quickly, and capped that pipe only so the rest of our house still had water during repairs. Scott and Dennis rerouted hot and cold water pipes through our kitchen cabinets. Otherwise we'd have had to dig up our kitchen and garage floors. We also had him replace our front spigot. When they were done, Scott did a walkthrough of our plumbing and fixed a clogged drain, loose tub overflow cover, and a toilet that has randomly run for years that no one seemed able to fix properly. Last week we found out our water bill was about 15 times higher than normal! We also heard and saw water gushing out from an underground drain pipe leading directly into a storm drain. Two people from IRWD checked on it and couldn't give any helpful information other than saying there was a leak. I hired one plumbing company and confirmed there was a leak with the outside irrigation system but couldn't go further. I checked with a landscaper and was told he would have to start digging to find out where the problem was. I then looked up one Ov...... plumbing company that offered electronic leak detection. On the appointed day, I received a call saying their equipment is not functioning and would contract out to another company to do the job for about five times their original quoted rate! I noticed that our kitchen tiles were unusually warm a few days ago. I suspected a slab leak. I got a plumber to come out yesterday to give a quote. That quote was $4200. I called Slab Leaks (found them on Google Maps) and Scott gave me an over-the-phone price range of $1500-$2500 for most slab leaks. Ryan and Rod came out today and spent the day fixing our leak. Unlike the first company, they did a leak detection to isolate the specific section of pipe. The other company quoted the rerouting of a section that in the end would have been incorrect. Ryan quoted the re-route at $1800 after the $250 for the leak detection. He gave us two options and ended up being able to do a reroute that went outside the house instead of tearing up multiple walls and ceilings. Thankfully the inconvenience of drywall repair and painting were minimal. They patiently explained the layout of all of our pipes so my wife and I could understand how the plumbing ran through the house. They were very courteous and left everything very clean. A bonus was their ability to do the drywall work (an additional $200) instead of having to find someone else on my own. They get my two thumbs up. read more

Really don't feel good about this company. The scheduling was so messed up. On the first appointment made , when Scott called me on the way , I did not pick his call immediately as I was on the phone. I called back 2 minutes later, he said he was already on the way to the other job because I did not answer his call immediately . Then we made a new appointment in next week on the phone. On next appointment time, I came downstairs using my butt due to my ankle surgery to wait for him. He did not showed up in the time window (which was 2 hours). After two and a half hours, I called and receptionist told me there was no appointment set for me. So I made third appointment with Ryan for next few days. About price, I called to asked price for them come out. The answer was free unless they need use their instrument to check. On the 3rd appointment, Ryan came tested water pressure, put a meter(a palm size) on the floor and unscrew the bottom cover of dishwasher. He found water was leaked out from dishwasher. He said he is not sure if the wall behind dish washer has mold but he did not bother to pull the dishwasher out to check. He might spent 15-20 minutes most. The charge was $250. I felt that was too high. But I did not want to argue and took it as a hard lesson. I was wondering what was "free " meaning? Who could ever get free of charge? Not recommend use this company. Honest, professional, fast. Highly recommend Slab Leaks Plus. We had American slab leaks come out about 6 months ago for a suspected leak. They First told us the leak could possibly be coming from our irrigation or pool equipment and that they couldn't fix that. American then suspected another issue and gave us an estimate for $8,000. Good thing we went with our instinct and assumed it was our irrigation system and didn't pay the 8k for the unnecessary work they recommended. The reviews about Scott being rude are unfortunately true. Called after hours, as we noticed pools of water on the floor and baseboards buckled suddenly one evening. He asked me if I was sure it wasn't just water from the shower. I confirmed that it was not leaking from the shower. He then asked me again if I was sure, and yet one more time with "are you positive"?? The conversation continued with this type of attitude and I really couldn't believe it. Given their name is "Slab Leaks Plus" AND they offer 24/7 service, you think he would be more helpful for people that may have an emergency leak situation. I'm sure people have off days, but he didn't have to pick up the phone if he wasn't in the mood to deal with customers. Don't waste your time calling this one. read more
