First time here last weekend after a movie and we liked it a lot. At first look, the bar stools are all ripped up, but then we decided it is intentional. Our bartender said it was her first day and she was filling in for someone; she was delightful. She made me a Lemondrop Martini like a pro, and even suggested a new drink for me using Belvedere Organic Infusions Vodka. We did not order food, but we did shoot some pool. The tables are free before 4:00 but it was after 4 so we added $1.50 in quarters per game. We will return. read more

I went here on two separate occasions, months apart and I had a double cheeseburger with extra cheese. Both times I tried getting this, the meat came out smelling like a literal rotting garbage can. Both occasions. I was with friends they could smell how bad it was just from it sitting on my plate. The people worked there did give me a refund both times. But how do they not know the meat is rancid? I did come there later in the night, but still they serve rotted meat to their customers on the nights I did go. Stopped in for happy hour before an appointment in the area. Great place to grab a beer. I believe this complex would get busy on weekend night with the bars and restaurants nearby. The the Marcus is literally next door as week. 1/2 of for happy hour which is amazing. Tried 4 different draft beers. All of which were good. Sat at the bar and got fantastic service. I wish I had a bar like this near where I lived. I would recommend this place. Oh yeah, I ordered a sub and it was much better than I had expected. I was actually surprised by the food being pretty good. It did take 30 minutes from walking in to walking out with my food.. and it was like 7 o clock. The menu on your phone will be different than what they have in the bar.. lots of poorly crossed out with permanent marker mark ups with "TOTS" written everywhere. There was almost a fight between two wasted adults in their 40's-50's which is the ambience in there. Mid 90's hip hop playing loudly over the speakers and a bar full of the drunken middle class 45 year old's too drunk to remember the drink they were just drinking. Nice little place, close to all the hotels. They open at 1, food starts at 4. Happy hour starts at 2. Beers are cold, taste fresh. Ordered the calzone which has high reviews - it was pretty good, just not great. Limited menu. I think this place would do itself favors by opening up for lunch with a bigger menu. read more

It's a dive bar. If you are in to dive bars you will like a lot about Slapsy Maxie's. It does have a lot going for it and one negative I will address later. It has two pool tables, darts and a great location. The bar is right between Marcus Crosswoods Cinema and Level One Arcade. So you can plan a fun night of drinking and eating cheaply at Maxie's and then venture over to the before mentioned places. Maxie's has a great happy hour. They have really good craft beers for only 2 dollars. Also they have a cheap burger deal during happy hour and the burger was pretty good! All this is great but I have had a reoccurring issue every time I've gone. I always seem to have the same bartender and she is always pretty rude. She rolls her eyes, gives snooty sounding answers when you ask her questions and generally seems annoyed by a customers existence. Honestly, I think she's one of the few bartenders I have ever not tipped because I found her so rude. I'm going to give this place 3 stars still just because they have an amazing happy hour. You just have to be able to stomach the bartender to take advantage of it. read more

Despite the atrocious name I have been very satisfied with this bar. It's next to the Marcus movie theater and perfect for before or after movie drinks. It also has two pool table, which I love! There are always great drink specials and somehow the same female bartender has been there every time I've gone and she's very nice. This bar is fantastic. I have been in this area for work for the last three weeks. I travel a lot for work all over the country. I have come to this bar almost every night. The drinks are generous, the staff is friendly, and the music alternates between tastes but is always good. If you don't like the music you can control the jukebox. TO start, the prices were incredible. I came here with some work friends while we were traveling. In Houston, the average price of a jack and coke is like $6...I think here mine was $2.75! Made the male pateons wait over 20 minutes and the refused them a beverage citing last call was well vefore that point as he opened a new bottle to give the last two women another round. We were in Columbus for the weekend and decided to check this bar out. It was really cool in side. But other than that we were not impressed. We own a bar ourselves and were highly disappointed in the staff. We waited for 5 minutes before the bartender even acknowledged us and then just seemed completely put out. She wasn't even that busy. The next shift bartenders came on and they didn't pay attention to us either. We had planned to stay around for a while and listen to the band, but after sitting for another ten minutes with no drinks, we decided to leave. The best part was that the owner was standing in front of us behind the bar and never uttered a single word or offer to get us a drink. They did tell us good bye as we walked out the door. Their website boasts they have the best staff... That's a joke. I would of fired the blond bartender If she worked for us..
