I ordered wings days before the Super Bowl. As expected for a place so popular for their wings I was told pick up time 12:15. They staggered the pick up times. The wings which usually are great were dry and you had to order in lots of 50 of the same flavor. I wanted an additional 24 of another but no dice!! I guess it's too much trouble to do that....an apparently it's too much trouble to wash the celery that accompanies the wings too because (see photo) the celery was old and filthy....makes me wonder what goes on in the kitchen????!? Very disappointed in my last visit to sliders. I'll start off with the good... The service was good food came out fast and my beer glass was almost never empty. The beer was nice and cold. 3.99 for a 16oz coors light ouch. I got the hot and sweet wings and rodeo fries. The wings weren't crispy at all and pretty small. The fries were even worse. So soggy and the rodeo ranch add on rub was not worth the extra buck. I think their fryer temp may have been too low. Or the fries weren't kept frozen and sat out for some time. This used to be the place to go for wings. My last few experiences were sub-standard at best but I decided to try again today. I wanted naked wings seasoned with salt and pepper. Side note: they don't have rosemary. When I got home the wings were doused in so much pepper I laid them out on paper towel and tried rubbing off the excess pepper. When that didn't work I had no choice but to run them under hot water. I don't usually call businesses to complain but the thought of an inexperienced cook grossly over seasoning someone else's food prompted me to call. I'd been to the one in Plainville, and this was my first trip to the one in Berlin. I was a little disappointed with the sauces, but overall it was an ok trip. My favorite sauce from this establishment is the Flaming Raspberry, which is only one level above the hottest sauce on the menu. Unfortunately, it tasted more like a tangy raspberry vinaigrette instead of the heat I'm used to. Still very good, but not what I wanted. We also ordered hot buffalo (no heat) and the General Tso's (no heat). I don't know what was going on in there. I wanted spicy wings, not chicken fingers. On the other hand, they *were* chicken fingers. The 6 boneless "wings" were huge. I'm used to little nuggets of chicken with lots of breading - these were full on chicken tenders. The chicken seemed freshly fried, it wasn't dry, and there wasn't toooooo much breading on it. They were also really cool about "extra celery" which came out in a huge basket (for $1) - I just meant a few extra stalks! Our server was pretty cool, and attentive, until we needed the check. When my partner told me that there was a Sliders near Stew Leonard's I was confused. I'd never seen one near the turnpike but I was game to try it. It's nestled behind the turnpike amongst a bunch of houses in a neighborhood. It seemed strange. When we got in, it said to seat yourself. It was around 2:30pm on a Monday. The only waitress in the whole place also happened to be the bartender and there were about 6-8 tables plus people at the bar so she was busy. After waiting serval minutes I grabbed some menus. When she finally came over she said she hadn't noticed us, and apologized. She also didn't have anything to write with so she took the back of someone else's check to write our order on. We ordered the cheesy bacon tots (yum), a Cobb salad (yum), and a taco salad (eh). The cheesy bacon tots had what tasted like American cheese on them. They were crispy, salty, and delicious. My taco salad left a lot to be desired. It didn't taste like the beef was seasoned and there was probably an entire can of olives on it. My partner loved his Cobb salad. I love Sliders, trust me, LOVE Sliders. But today I received really bad service. Like I feel hurt. Like you know that feeling after a break-up, yup me. I think I broke up with Sliders today. I walked in, my boyfriend and I have been on vacation, first night back in town and decided, date night, let's go out to Sliders. We sat at the bar, ordered some drinks, put our food in, we don't even need menus anymore, and waited. The usual. Food comes out, I was excited, maple bacon wings and some tater tots, yum. I immediately start grabbing some tots, and then take a bite from my wings, cold. I thought maybe it's just that one, take a bite from the other one, cold. I can be picky so I tell my boyfriend to take a bite, he says cold. He takes a bite from his wings, cold. So we let the waitress know, "the wings are cold", she gets who I guess is her boss to take them and let the guys in the back know that they were cold. She told us "10 minutes guys, fresh wings are coming". Ok 10 minutes that's fine. Other customers came in, they put in their food after the fact, but somehow got their food before us, we waited a little longer, me still eating tots and excited for wings. The manager, GM, don't know, later comes over to the guy sitting next to me(I'm at the bar) and tells him "the wings weren't cold, the sauce was." The guy nods and smiles. I guess he use to work there. As soon as I heard that, I felt hurt. Like I have came here multiple times, I have never gotten bad service or had a bad experience, if anything I love it, whenever my boyfriend and I want to enjoy a drink and have some wings, Sliders we put YOU first. I didn't say anything, but excuse me? I bit into the wing, I felt that it was cold, did you bite into it? I can be picky which is why I handed it to my boyfriend and he said "no it's cold", I'm paying for this, I'm not getting it for free. At this point I wanted to leave, but my boyfriend is hungry, so we waited. 10 minutes go by, 15 minutes go by, 20 minutes go by, and finally someone comes over and says "hey there are some wings sitting there, who are they for?" We asked for the check, I'm sure they were already cold. I came home hungry. I don't know what to say other than I wish it wasn't talked about in front of me. If a customer is wrong and you want to vent, please let it be far from the customer. I don't recommend this location, the Wallingford one is a lot better. read more

I think I may have walked into a episode of Bar Rescue and not have known it. (Sarcasm) My husband, son and I were headed home from a baseball game tonight. He happened to have a gift certificate to Sliders. After looking it up and seeing it had numerous locations we decided to go to the one in Berlin. What. A. Mistake. Firstly, we walked in and stood by a sign that stated wait to be seated. We were ignored for a few minutes which should have been a sign that this was not going to be a good experience. Finally tired of waiting for a waitress to sit us we sat our selves. One waitress was with her back towards is while the other waitress was eating dinner a few tables away. Again we went unnoticed until my husband got up to grab someone's attention. The food came late and cold. It was obvious that it was sitting for a while. Burgers were run of the mill and tasteless. The boneless wings (which was suppose to be our appetizers) were soggy and barely Luke warm and came out with our main meal. My "steak sliders" are something I would make if I had only had potatoes buns left over flank steak and onions on hand. It lacked taste and was less than appetizing. Listen I am a very patient and tolerant person but this by far has made it to my top 10 worst dining experiences. Food was very good but service was horrible last night. I'm a server myself and I could see she literally had 3 tables and was having a hard time paying attention to our table. First the guys asked her for Budweiser's and sh brought out 2 bottles of bud light after 10 minutes of waiting for our drinks. drinks weren't being paid attention to, and she never asked us how our food was. Which I feel as if every waitress should do after the first couple bites to make sure nothing is wrong at the table. My friend didn't like his boneless wings and he only took one bite. She didn't ask if anything was wrong with it just gave him a box to wrap it up. I asked her for a coke and she said she was waiting for the bar for it......for a coke? Really? Also asked her to split the bill at the beginning of the night and she didn't do that even tho i told her at the end of our meal to split it as well. I guess there's a reason they have a ton of locations... they're successful, and good. Wednesday night is $5 boneless wings night, $2 less than the usual charge for a small serving. It was also happy hour (4-6 and 10-close), so there were $5 regular wings too. I went for a serving of each... Hot & Sweet and Maple Bacon.... mmmmmm. Big wings, big white meat chicken chunks with crispy breading, Ranch dressing. The American meal at its fattiest. Biggest thanks to the manager. Because of their automated ordering system, I wasn't properly charged the happy hour price for some of my items. But the manager saw I ordered my first beer well before 6, and she fixed the situation. No questions asked, she totally understood that it took until a few minutes past six to order wings at a busy bar. They must have renovated recently. Here I sit at Sliders, trying to watch the last game of the MLB series, Red Sox vs Baltimore for a play off spot and all of the TVs in the bar are offline because the Direct Tv satellite receivers have lost their satellite signals in light rain. Patrons openy " thank" Direct TV while we sip our beers, wipe our chins from a chicken wing slurry, and check our cell phones for the box score. Fortunately there is free wifi for updates and the ability to post yelpreviews in real time. Definitely have some great wings that hit the spot! However, the service is terrible! It was not very crowded at all while we were there. When we got there most of the other customers had food already. We had put in our order right away when we got there. It was just two of us and we ordered 24 wings. It took about a little over 40 minutes to get our food. The wings were great with lots of sauce and a good amount of veggies. The waitress did not bring us our check for almost 20 minutes after we finished eating. Just VERY slow service, only reason I'm giving 3 stars is because the wings were awesome. First time visit. Has the typical sports bar feel, lots of tvs etc. It was a very light crowd yet service was surprisingly slow. The bartender did not have a grasp of the beer list but in fairness the list and tasting notes were available. Moving to the menu. Plenty of normal sports bar fare with some add one. I contacted Sliders a few weeks ago about having my group come by after an event we were holding down the street. We weren't looking for anything formal, more of a heads up that a group of 50-60 would be coming in on a Thursday night. A manager got back to me and told me it wasn't a problem, and when I asked about discounts and special for my group, I was told that they already had happy hour from 8-10pm and they couldn't do anything else. I said that was fine, and began promoting this to my group. The day of my event (2/6) I called Sliders to confirm that they knew my group would be coming in, and I was told that they were all set, and I confirmed that they would have happy hour from 8-10pm. Later in the evening as my group began to arrive at Sliders, I received messages saying that they were being told that happy hour didn't start until 10pm that night (later than most of my group would be there). I called and spoke to the General Manager, who confirmed that happy hour didn't start until 10pm, and she didn't know why her staff told me 8-10pm, but that there was nothing she could do. I asked if there was anything she could offer, and she said no. I explained that I had talked to multiple people (her staff) who told me the offer, and that I had promoted it to my group, and that had been the reason we chose that location, and she continued to say that there was nothing she could do. She eventually said she would put out chips and salsa, but that was it. I understand that there can be miscommunications, or lack of communication within her staff, but they are her staff. If I was told multiple times that we would get happy hour specials, I expect to get them whether they are regularly offered or not. I have over a decade of customer service experience, and if any of my staff promised something to a customer (who was bringing 60 people that would not normally be there) I would follow through on that promise. We were really disappointed, and will not return to this location. I gave two stars because I was told by multiple people in my group that the wait staff was really apologetic about the situation, and that my group really appreciated that. So we were a bit skeptical driving here, it's on a residential road. It looks like the one in Plainville. We were a bit unsure walking in.... ...but, it's great! It's definitely cleaner than all of the other Sliders I've been to, (except WH, but that one is actually TOO clean...I know, sounds weird, but sometimes a little bit of "dirt" gives the place character). For a Monday it was super busy! They have a great late night happy hour, and the food was hot and delicious. My favorite are the grilled cheese bites and pickle chips. Bartenders were attentive and friendly. Management was present the entire time. The bartender was by no means behind but it was nice to see the manager helping her and making sure all of the guests were satisfied. Drinks and food came out in a reasonable amount of time, given the volume of people. Beer selection was decent, nothing crazy, but they offer 22oz beers which are more "limited", per say. I've been to this sliders multiple times for lunch and for drinks. The majority of the times I've been served immediately upon sitting down. Unfortunately this past Sunday the service was terrible. I sat down at a high top table by the bar waiting for my boyfriend, I sat for 15- 20 mins and NO wait staff came to help me. Two younger gentle man were sitting next to me at another table and all the wait staff stopped to say hi and chit chat with them, however none of them asked if I was being helped, no eye contact even. After twenty minutes I moved over to the bar, where the two bar tenders were very respective to a new patron at the bar... beer and menu in less than three mins! Besides the slow wait staff, the quality of the food and atmosphere is right on with sliders. This is a great place to meet up with friends to watch a game. I went here for dinner before a baseball game. The place seems like it could be a lot of fun at night, but it was a good casual dinner place, too. I got the bases loaded chicken, which was very good. They have a lot potential but the turnover of staff in all of their locations and the inconsistencies with food make us question whether or not it's worth returning. I've been a sliders girl for years and never even thought to write a review, but after my great experience today, i knew i had to. Sliders is a straight up sports bar, and excels in its pov (point of view). They're known for their wings (which are excellent), but have so much else to offer. Namely- their bartenders- in my experience- are incredibly, consistently helpful and friendly. I'd personally like to single out veronica and lindsey, 2 of the sweetest bartenders i've ever met. This place is clearly a locals joint, and they embrace that concept to a T. Even though it seems weird, i generally order the soup of the day. I love soup, and they actually make their own. Today was a delish roasted eggplant/tomato thing, but i've also had a bangin' corn chowder, yummy classic new england clam chowder, and a thai chicken soup that was reminiscent of tom yum. For real, in a wing place! They have about 20 different wing sauces, about 18 of which i've tried. I prefer the medium buffalo, but their garlic parmesan is out of this world (though probably, like, serious 10th date material- no sooner. In a good way.) Other menu items like burgers, sandwiches, and salads round out the menu, which is larger than one might expect. Appetizers are particularly indulgent, including fried mac and cheese, grilled cheese bites (with tomato soup), and buffalo chicken dip (soo good- i get it with celery instead of the tortilla chips). Spicy (seasoned curly) fries are excellent, though i don't order them often. Food can take a bit longer than expected, but it's worth it. As for the scene, i'll be honest: i either come here for some alone time and to watch the yankees game, or specifically to meet people. There is a group of guys who are there literally every. Single. Day. They're not my favorites, but they're definitely harmless. That said, this also is not a place to meet people, in my experience and opinion. This, however, might be a place to meet a 1 night stand (whether that is opinion or experience is for me to know...) So the server was nice but either drunk or just forgetful and slow. The food was mediocre at best, the bacon on burger was the best and worst thing about my burger. You could tell it was cheap and terrible cuts of bacon, but its bacon. I ordered the 5 oz portion I'm fairly certain I got the 8oz. The curly fries were great, which is why I gave 2 stars. The fried pickles and peppers would have been great if the server hadn't forgotten to put that part of the order in first. Nothing like receiving your meal and then asking the server if she planned on bringing them out and her saying "oh crap". Had to ask for the usual things mayo, napkins... if she had checked in on us sooner we could have asked about the appetizer.... especially considering the place was all but dead. As much as I consistently dislike this place, my husband loves the strawberry jalapeno wings so I go along for the cause. The carribean rum punch drink would better if it was a drink and not stuffed with a bunch of fruit that I have to pick out. Very typical chain american bar & grill. They do have a good selection of beers on tap and the food was always good. One thing that I didn't like very much was the burger menu. The options were pretty limited, although you can build your own burger. However, in order to have your burger cooked to anything other than well-done you have to get an 8 oz burger which consists of two 4 oz patties pressed together & grilled -- but even then it is cooked well-done. This is a place to go grab a few beers and watch a game but nothing special past that. read more

Typical Sports Bar atmosphere. Comfortable and well lit. I was in the mood for wings so I tried the Polynesian which was pineapple and ginger sauce, and the Mango Habenero sauce. 6 of each for $11. They were a good size, crispy and lots of finger lickin' good sauce. The mango Habenero was flavorful, but I would have liked it a little hotter. Next time I'll have to move up the hot scale and get something with a little more bite. West Hartford closed down, so they took the bartenders and waitstaff and moved them to the Berlin location, while getting rid of just about all the Berlin location employees,and taking all but 1 of their shifts, which is a joke. A lot of people go to Berlin sliders because of the staff that use to be there. Berlin sliders seems to be and probably is on fast decline. The new bartenders take a long time to get drinks, food seems to be messed up a lot more and gets a tour of the bar before it ends up where it needs to be. Bring back the bartenders and waitstaff that was there, making Berlin sliders like it use to be and send the West Hartford staff to the Torrington location. Also fix the fruit fly problem already. read more
