I tried Slim Chickens yesterday and honestly...I could have done without. The food simply was just not good. I got the 3 tenders x 3 wings meal, because I wanted to try a little of both and to say the meal was underwhelming does not even capture the magnitude of my disappointment. First and foremost, the chicken tenders tasted like fish. I'm not sure if they season it in fish fry seasoning or if they just used old oil they was once used to fry fish -- but overall it had a fishy taste to it. I had my friends taste my chicken tenders to make sure it wasn't just me tasting this fishy taste -- and they all agreed that something was off with those tenders. The only redeeming part of the chicken tenders was the cayenne ranch sauce. The cayenne ranch sauce -- TORCH. Also, the hot wings barely had sauce and clearly did not spend much time in the deep fryer. They were fully cooked but not at all crispy in the least. I don't need my wings fried hard, but one crunch or two would have been greatly appreciated. The fries were okay, but a bit soggy. The Texas toast was fine. It was cool. I went the first month they opened. The food was ok, but nothing spectacular. There was an in-app promotion that allowed for you to get a free chicken sandwich, but that process was annoying and extremely confusing. First I had to wait in the car for someone to bring the sandwich, but then after 10 mins they said I needed to come in and get it. ANNOYING. So I went inside and waited a few more mins. This was my first time here. The location is in a nice area. But out of my way. I came out of my way because I received good reviews from friends. The food was just okay to me, however I will try them again. I got the chicken strips with fries and a coke. I will explain later why I added the coke in my review. My husband got the wings with a chili sauce and fries. The fries were pretty good, but the chicken not so much. The strips were seasoned nicely, however the flour coating on them Just didn't stick to the chicken. The chicken wings wasn't cooked long enough. Now to the beverage. The Coke Cola was the best. Considering it was a fountain drink. Today, my elder parents and I decided to check out this restaurant in hopes that we found a new fast food option. I doubt that we will ever return. We ordered the chicken wraps, one grilled and two fried. My parents commented that the fried chicken was TOO hard and we all agreed that the amount of salt was INEDIBLE. I decided on the 6 wings meal with fries & drink included. My mom got the Slim Salad ( you can choose from fried or grilled.) She choose the grilled. Included in this salad is greens, tomatoes, fried onions, cucumbers carrots & spinach. Mom really enjoyed the salad. My cousin got the chicken wrap. Strike 2 and I'm even more unimpressed.... First time I sat in a really long line (which I expected because... So they have chicken wings, boneless chicken, chicken sandwiches, chicken wraps, salads with chicken in it, grilled chicken, they even have chicken and waffles...one thing for sure is that this establishment has chicken!! I copped their Chicken club sandwich (pictured-Fried chicken breast, with crispy bacon, Monterey Jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, and ranch mayo on a brioche bun $6), and their 3 & 3 meal (pictured- with 3 fried tenders, 3 wings shaken in Korean bbq sauce, fried pickles, and Texas toast $11.49). Now this meal came with two of their dipping sauces, so I chose the Slim sauce, cayenne ranch sauce, and I got an extra cup of gravy to try out. I also picked up an extra side of mac n cheese (pictured-$2.79), and a Strawberry cheesecake jar desert (pictured-$6). The chicken sandwich was decent, but much better when dipped into the slim sauce. The chicken tenders were decent m, but, again much better when I dipped into the slim sauce and/or the cayenne ranch. The gravy was a tad bit too watery for me, it was decent but if it was thicker I would've stamped it. Now the chicken wings were absolutely delicious! They were fried hard just like I like it and then shandn in that Korean BBQ, made them outright tasty!! The fried pickles I passed on because they were too salty. The mac & cheese... was decent too. Not the best I've had, and a far cry from the worst. Now that Strawberry cheesecake jar desert!?!? STAMP!! That joint was really good!! I'd get it again. Online ordering was simple, and easy. I visited this location to try out their menu, and I was pleasantly surprised at the food options. Along with general chicken options, they have chicken wraps! I did ask if you can add other items from the menu onto the wraps (e.g. bacon), however the drive thru staff said no because they only have items for specific entrees. I saw a long line of cars waiting to order here so I decided I had to try it. I had never heard of Slim Chickens before so I did a quick online search while waiting in line. A lot of people compared it to Cane's and Zaxby's so I got very excited. I love Zaxby's! I ordered the 4 tenders with fries, Texas toast, and a root beer. This chicken is very lightly coated. Don't expect any sort of crunch whatsoever. It is nothing like Zaxby's. I also tried the slim sauce and I don't like it. The seasoning of the chicken also was slightly sweet? Very strange. The food and the dessert jars are great. HOWEVER, I placed an order for curbside delivery at 2:18pm and was instructed that it would be ready at 2:30pm ( my order was only 3 dessert jars). I arrive promptly at 2:30 & park in the designated curbside space (I was the only car there). Although, there were 2 team members coming in and out of the store delivering food to patrons in the drive thru, no one ever acknowledged me. I even got out the car and asked one of those team members if they could help me...to which I was given the finger (the hold up a sec finger) and he never returned. At 2:50, I proceed to get put of my car again and go inside asking if someone could assist me with my curbside order that I now nearly 20 minutes past the time it was to be ready. A young lady said she would check. At 2:55, a gentleman brings me dessert jars. WTH is the purpose of ordering online and getting curbside delivery if no one is going to acknowledge you? Very disappointed and this is not the first time I've had less than desirable customer service. The food is good however the customer service is trash!!! Slim Chickens is a restaurant with a nice decor. From the entrance to the counter, the ambiance is inviting to the eyes. I ordered the Chicken and Waffles which also came with a soft drink. Here's the great: the chicken tenders are hand breaded and flavorful. I could tell that the chicken was fried to order. Delightful indeed. The overall meal was underwhelming as a whole. I believe if I had the tenders and fries, the meal would have been a lot better. I suggest wings with the waffle should be an available option. The raspberry lemonade was amazing! What a nightmare. Drive thru Line logistics are terrible. They really need to figure it out. The food comes out partially while you wait in line. Not sure of this rationale. But I received my food first. And someone else brought out my drink a few minutes later. My sauces and Texas toast were left out of my order. After I alerted someone, they brought it out. First, I'd like to add....I'm from the deep south, Arkansas, MS, TN, and Louisiana. My understanding is that this franchise began in humble southern beginnings. So you'd think the people here would be trained, the good ole southern way as a reflection of a southern company. Not! Notice that most of the reviews are based on SERVICE. March 5th Sunday around 12pm. We went to try this place out for the first time. (Check your cameras)The reason I'm writing mainly is to discuss my guest service experience, or lack of. The place was not busy. As a matter of fact, my daughter and I were the only two people dining inside. The team members were talking to one another about others. Second, when my daughter went up to buy more sauce, two team members walked past her NOT acknowledging she was standing at the counter...my daughter is 5'9, so it's not like they could not see her. Not one person for 5 minutes said one word to her. They were too busy with one another. Terrible customer service. This means management is not paying attention, or they just don't care. Second, the slaw was not true southern slaw. It was bland with a funny taste, we purchased it but threw it away. Our toast was cold and greasy tasting. Chicken was good, but we've had better. However, the fried pickles, which I'm sure were previously frozen, were great, and so were the sauces. The ambiance was good, and by that, I mean the music reminded me of my deep southern roots. Why even offer curbside pick up when no one comes out to check on customers??? My horrid adventure started once I placed my order for curbside pick up. I arrived and pulled into a spot, any other time people outside waiting to take your order. Today for some reason no one was outside at all to greet customers. As much as the people at the window walked stuff towards customers cars no one came over to curbside. I asked the staff what's taking so long the best excuse I got was I'm trying to find out too I just came back from lunch. Not only was the food cold AF. I was missing items from my order. I've visited 5 times thus far. Service is okay. Food is always hot. Toast has never been edible. First two visits I never received a receipt. Therefore, I didn't know I was being charged for extra sauces as they don't mention it when u ask for 2 sauces for a 5 chciken tender meal! They just add the up charge. Seconds visit I got an expired parfait jar. And I threw it away as I wanted to save it for the next day. My order has been wrong 4 out of the 5 visits. The wrap is very bare with chicken. And sometimes the tenders can be very small! Good food but training needs to be provided. Inconsistent orders, up charges without consulting, and not giving customers their receipts. Stopped by Slim's to try out the chicken. After being in line for 30 mins, tank on E..as soon as I finished ordering my food, my car cut off!! On the hottest day of the week..it was like 90 sumthin degrees out that day!! So the manager and one the employees helped push my car into a parking space as I called my boyfriend to come rescue me. Unbeknownst to me, the manager went and grabbed a gas can and put a 1/2 a gallon of gas in my car!! I was so happy and appreciative for him that day!! It was already hot and embarrassed, but that really made my day!! I asked if I can pay him and he said no, just leave a good review!! So here you are!!
