    Mac n Cheese, delicious
    Jennifer C.

I'm very confused about the low stars on this place and I'm choosing to assume it's because of when they were new. If the food and service today has been this way, there should be a line to eat here. 1st visit, opted to go inside vs drive thru to have time to view the menu and surprised to see such a variety of options. The gentleman working the counter was also bringing food out to the patrons and keeping the dining area clean. As he hustled, he was so friendly. Off his suggestion, I ordered the Chicken Club on Toast vs the Bun (do this), Fries and Mac n Cheese. Side of Cayenne Ranch plus a drink. The space is comfortable and inviting to eat in, several table options depending on your group size. Beverage station is self serve and I went with 1/2 Cut Tea, sweetness on point. My food was brought to me and at 1st bite of the Mac n Cheese, I already knew I'd be getting a 2nd one to go home! Chicken seasoned and cooked well, the toast was great and the bacon was crispy! Dip your fries in the Cayenne Ranch, it's actually not spicy but it just taste good! I live no where near here, maybe a 25 min drive, but I will come back on purpose!

My favorite sandwich. Melt in your mouth chicken with all the perfect toppings

This is my favorite chicken restaurant. The cayenne ranch chicken sandwich is a show stopper! Plus the fries are pretty great too

Really great catering!! We had the food catered for a company lunch, and everyone was really happy with it. All the lunches were packed and included sauces. The only note was every container contained a different (2) sauces but none of the packaging was labeled to know what was inside. It would be awesome if the boxes could have the sauce stickers on them to know what's inside given some are spicy, etc. This was my first time trying, and I definitely want to try on my own!

Late evening I wanted some food. I hadn't been to Stim Chicken in quite some time. They are open inside until 10 pm and the drive thru till 12am. It wasn't busy when I got there. But a rush soon came. The young lady took my order with a smile. I decided to try the tender combo. The chicken could have been seasoned better. The fries were good. The dipping sauce made up for the lack of seasoning. There were tvs to watch. I got a chance to see some of the game. The well kept restaurant is a nice place for yelpers to eat. The place is very inviting and comfy.

    25 Tenders

We have the Slim's app and had been texted a deal. The deal was: 25 tenders for $25 if you order on the app. Since we are cheap AF, we ordered just this to feed everyone on our way out of town. The online order said it would be 10 minutes so I ordered in the parking lot and we headed in to get our order. The "10 minutes" turned into nearly 30!!! After waiting for a bit I went up there to check on our order and the guy at the counter was like, "Oh, you're the online order." And still continued to wait some more. We finally got our order, it was hot, so that's good. Most, if not all of the tenders were teeny tiny. 25 for $25 means $1 per tender and in our opinion, most were not worth this price. The MORE shocking aspect was that the normal price is $39.99 for 25. So normally they are $1.60 per tender. I don't know if maybe when they have these "deals" they give you the tiny tenders to cut down on their "profit loss." We were expecting with 25 tenders, we wouldn't be able to finish them. Not only did we gobble them down, we broke into our road trip snacks to feel full. Other than the lengthy wait and the tiny tenders, the sauces were not accurate either. Instead of 4 of my favorite cayenne ranch, we were only given regular ranch. (Sigh) I was looking forward to the spice. So all in all... the whole experience was something less than desired.

    Fried Mushrooms

I've tried the food three times now and it just isn't good for the price, and the portion sizes are super small. This is the side of mushrooms, which is almost 7 dollars. This was the entire order...I haven't touched any of it. It feels really crazy and unacceptable to be charging that price for this quantity.

Grabbed lunch with the family at Slim Chicken. Chicken and fries were well seasoned and they have a big variety of sauces. Staff were busy but efficiently took orders and called out orders as they came up. The lobby was clean and the drink station had everything stocked.

Not only were we not granted an exception on the checks as consolation for not being able to order french fries, there was no indication that this had even occurred to our server. This is precisely the level of temerity we need to inculcate in young women in our society, and I'd encourage her to apply for a job at the women's-only sports bar a few doors down if and when it ever opens. It'd be tragic if she wasn't there if and when I return, but I'd appreciate the fact that she has a greater mission. Hopefully, the deep fryer is working. It being out of commission naturally limited the number of things on the menu we could order. We were only told that we couldn't order anything that required a deep fryer, not given a modified menu or anything. I started going through each item and imagining how it might be prepared, but I couldn't muster the psychological bandwidth to continue. Hit my Cash App if you appreciate the amount of unpaid emotional labor I was compelled to contribute. It occurred to me that I might just get a burger and a side salad, but then I saw that they carry a club sandwich. I love a good club sandwich, and I figured it might make for a light, refreshing alternative, given the weather. There's an option to get a cup of soup for $1.50 extra as a side with your sandwich (no, they didn't offer to eat the charge), and I figured that might go well with my sandwich. I was kicking myself when they brought out someone else's order with the side salad. It looked really good. The Frisco Burger, or whatever they're calling it, looked good too. Meanwhile, the BBQ Beef & Cheddar Soup--the soup du jour (that's French), according to Flo--looked gross, like something your dog might cough up. But damn it was good! It was more beef than anything else. A large bowl of it might actually be too much food. (I'd still eat it, natch.) The overall flavor profile was along the lines of a good french onion soup. It was a reminder that I need to be ordering soup in restaurants more often. I wish the club sandwich was cut into little triangles and fanned out on the plate in some elaborate configuration, like at a place where rich old ladies have lunch, but I guess that wouldn't have been in keeping with the theme. Instead, it was served on the world's thickest Texas toast, with the world's dullest steak knife protruding from its center. This sounds like hyperbole, but I may have honestly been served the equivalent of half a loaf of bread. It was much more bread than I required, but at least it was fresh and delicious, as were all the other ingredients. Turkey used for sandwiches is almost never remarkable, but this was surprisingly great, as good as anything you'd get served as an entree unto itself. Nothing about this place suggests that it would have such good food, but it just goes to show you can't judge a book by its cover. The decor, the overall vibe and the lack of hospitality might not be for everyone, but don't let that deter you.

Karen informed me that it had lima beans and corn, so I wasn't shocked by that. Came in a bowl draped with puff pastry. Pastry was flaky and lightly browned, the base was creamy with lots of chicken chunks, carrots, corn, and lima beans. I haven't had lima beans before and I liked them. I had ordered the soup of the day, Tuscan white bean that sounded great, but I thought it was just ok. Husband ordered the fried chicken with slaw and mashed potatoes. The chicken was HOT! It is a Trojan horse for one of the best burgers in St. Louis (my wife says I'm being dramatic for calling it THE best; I say I am not NOT going back for another). We enjoyed everything we order: the pork belly burnt ends and cashew chicken wings, and a coffee & cardamom old fashioned that sounds like a personality disorder but tastes like a vibe, smoky, a touch sweet, and very drinkable year-round. The Sam Elliott burger, BBQ sauce, bacon, crunchy onions, brioche, is named for a man who has never disappointed anyone, and neither does the sandwich. And the meatloaf is NOT your grandma's brick: tender, charred at the edges, laid over silky mashed potatoes with broccolini, perhaps closer to a chop steak than a loaf in the best possible way. Vibe is farm-chic: old church pews, repurposed interior doors, a proper bar up front, plus a patio and rooftop for when the weather cooperates. Fun fact -- it's named after the blue duck Billy Madison paints in elementary school, which is a fantastic piece of trivia and tells you absolutely nothing accurate about the actual restaurant. 4.7 Stars. Picking Nits: the counter-order setup is efficient, but it sets expectations in the wrong direction for the first 90 seconds, you brace for fast-casual and instead get something considerably more ambitious. Food comes out fast once you've ordered, which is great if you're hungry and slightly jarring if you wanted a slow, lingering dinner. And the Billy Madison naming is charming trivia but entirely misleading as a vibe preview, no complaints about the actual restaurant, just the branding expectations it sets. If The Blue Duck were a character: Ron Swanson. Hear me out. If Ron ate here, he'd be suspicious of the entire experience until his first bite of protein -- the counter ordering, the repurposed doors, a burger named after a fellow mustachioed American, all of it registering as potentially too clever. Then the Sam Elliott hits his plate, he takes one bite, and the skepticism dissolves into the quiet respect of a man who has found his people. Looks rustic. Has strong feelings about meat. Secretly sophisticated -- plays saxophone in a jazz club under a fake name, builds his own furniture, would 100% approve of the farm-chic decor once the protein has spoken. Presents as simple. Isn't.

There wasn't that much line when I went, they take your other at the kiosk by the bar. They have a large assortment of sandwiches, comes in whole OR half (which is half the price of a whole). I ordered 2 half sandwiches, "The Meatball" and "The Steak Out". It didn't take long at all to make my sandwiches and they also have options to customize specialty sandwiches if specific toppings are wanted. The Steak Out was the 1st sandwich tried, and was the best one out of the two. The steak was cooked medium rare but isn't too rare at all or overcooked past that if you are worried about that either. Not only that, but the jalapenos and the pepper mayo are to die for, and they didn't completely soak it in sauce (which is a common concern as well). Everything tastes so freshly made, with half a sandwich honestly being more than enough for 1 sitting. Overall rating 8.9/10. The Meatball was very good as well, meatballs were cooked well throughout and tender to the bite. I am not completely mad at the Baguette being the bread of choice but they couldn't have went wrong with ciabatta neither. It was a very solid sandwich, nothing too extraordinary but nothing I can really complain about neither. Overall rating 8.3/10. In past visits, I have also tried the Enzo Gorlomi (basically a spicy italian) which I thought was better than both sandwiches I tried during that visit, but I may be biased because I love spicy italian sandwiches. Should still try though in my opinion. All in all, I would definitely come back to this place when I'm in the area, pricing is pretty good for the food amount and quality you are getting. Vibes are cool in there, they seem like a business with a lot of experience doing what they do. Definitely higher end, very fresh, well plated. We both left pretty full. Steak was cooked perfectly. I could somewhat justify the price of it based on the quality, but paired with the overall experience, it just wasn't for us. My husband and I have been to MANY expensive, higher end restaurants, both across the St. Louis region, across the nation, and across many a foreign country (Europe, Asia, Central America). For a $500 meal (two coursed meals and wine pairing), this just didn't hit the mark for us. We had a 7:30PM reservation for my Husband's birthday. We did not get our first course until 8:15. We went over 30 minutes in between some courses. Our wine glasses were empty most of the meal. The overall "experience" took almost 3 hours for four courses. We've been to restaurants where the meal was 2.5 - 3 hours, but it was not us waiting around. Here, we spent most of the time just waiting, wondering when our next course would be. The server gave lots of excuses, mostly "there was a big top in the bar room" but for the cost of the meal, that's not really an excuse. Especially when the restaurant wasn't full and we had made a reservation. We literally talked about getting up and walking out at one point. There was another couple that had an 8PM reservation, and they were getting the same courses as us, but before us. There was also a Gentleman that sat next to us who came in around 8:30, had three courses, and was out within an hour. This is St. Louis. The other few restaurants in the region at that price point have been white glove. Never an empty glass, attentive service, never waiting between courses. Honestly, I was somewhat appalled by my experience here, especially reading the other reviews. It was just not good.
