My brother and I were in the area on a Friday at lunch time. I've heard of Slim Chickens thanks to THE ENDORSEMENT, but never got the chance to stop in until yesterday. My brother ordered the buffalo Mac and chicken and I got the 4 piece basket. We also ordered a basket of fried pickles. The employees were friendly and helpful. The store was super clean but we found a table. They had several signs on the drinks towers that said they were out of certain sodas. They did have a fair selection of teas. I, originally, got the raspberry tea. It was SUPER sweet. My next drink was unsweetened tea and a splash of raspberry tea, much better. Our food came to our table in a timely manner and was hot and fresh. Let's be real. It's chicken tenders and fries. It didn't blow my mind, but it was decent. My brother really liked the buffalo chicken Mac and cheese. The fried pickles were fine, but way too salty. Overall, I would go back but I would go out of my way. I'm here on a Tuesday night, staff is not friendly, talking loudly and only one lady is working ( other just standing around ). I've seen guest leave because no one will wait on them. I had ordered the wings tonight, wasn't the best I figured they could had been cooked a bit longer or Krispyer, actually I think this is the reason my stomach is hurting terribly maybe it was just really under cooked .. For the 3 months, I have gone here about 3 times. Each time, the wait is longer than the last. Today I waited 35+ minutes for our food. With only 3 cars in front of me, the wait should not have been that long. I didn't know chicken fingers could taste this bad. The highlight was the sauce that masked how bad the chicken tasted. They were lukewarm and dry. The fries were far from crispy. Chicken wings are in short supply? Somebody forgot to tell these folks. Was there the first weekend they opened and the drive thru lines were wrapped around the building. Although the place was packed, the operation was quite organized and we moved through relatively quickly. Each of the drive thru team members were friendly and efficient. I like having a choice between bone-in and boneless wings. They only offer about 5 or 6 flavors in which to toss the wings and about the same number of dipping sauces, so diners aren't overwhelmed with too many choices. Since this location is about 20 minutes from my house, and sitting on the lot to eat wasn't an option, we took our food home. We had the garlic Parmesan wings with ranch chips and French fries. All of the flavors were great and the wings even had shredded Parmesan and opposed to grated, powdery cheese, so I was happy about that. I was disappointed in the homemade potato chips because they got a bit soggy during the drive home. I'll try them again when I'm able to eat them right away. The fries were the fresh cut kind with the skin. They, too, were cold and limp by the time we got home. One thing I will say, I hope in the future there will be the option to order the wings crispy (aka well done). Mine were well cooked, I just prefer a crispier skin. If this place were closer to home I'd be a regular. As it stands, I'll stop thru next time in in the area. read more

Well slim chicken I'm a true chicken lover and I must say I don't love your chicken. Taste like something that you can make your own self when you trying to imitate a chicken sandwich from a fast food chain. I wouldn't really review a fast food place like this BUT: I got really severe food poisoning from eating there. As far as the food goes, it is like Canes with an expanded menu that includes wings and waffles. Not bad. I was hoping for a quick lunch but I lost a day of work instead. It was also pretty chaotic and some employees were masking and others were not. Still, the service was good when I was there. The strange thing was that the floors were slick with grease even though it is a brand new place. I am sure they will pull it together but that is just too much of a risk. read more

Was looking for something to eat on a late lunch. I must say that the Staff taking orders were very cordial. Now the Drive-Thru system was horrific!! Two drive in lines but only one Cashier window. Which meant you have to wait for the other line also!! Took me close to 25 minutes to get my order. It's too bad since they could make many more customers happy, if only they straighten the Drive-thru mess!! They definitely need to set up a better system. There is a lot of competition in the chicken fingers business, but this place I believe has topped them all. First of all, we don't have one yet in Indianapolis. I know they just opened one in West Lafayette, but I had to go to St. Louis, and I saw they had one, so I had to try it. This place is in a great location, just off I-44 and about a mile from I-64. The location was fairly clean, they were busy. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. In addition to chicken fingers, you can get chicken & waffles, I think sandwiches & chicken wings too. I got the classic meal which has four strips, fries, Texas Toast, and choice of one sauce. Now, I like Raising Canes, but my beef with them has always been the lack of choice in dipping sauces. They only have their nasty Canes Sauce & honey mustard. This place has about 15-20 choices! I got country gravy and I got an extra sauce of Honey BBQ. The chicken was seasoned perfectly and they weren't heavily breaded. The fries were perfectly cooked. The Texas Toast was nothing special, but went well with the meal. And the gravy and BBQ sauce were perfect choices. I sure hope they'll bring one to Indianapolis soon. The only reason I didn't give five stars is that the toilet flush didn't seem to work. A newer restaurant really should have an automatic flush. But everything else was outstanding! read more

The food is always great. Prices are kinda high, especially when the concept is "slim" portions. You get a ton of fries but if you get chicken fingers order more than what you think you want. They aren't just slim, but usually tiny and short too. Had an experience in the drive-through where no one would take our order even though they weren't closing anytime soon and there was a line behind us. But the cayenne ranch chicken sandwich was REALLY good. Stand out. Worth the wait. The second time I ordered ahead for curbside. Got there on time. Waited at least 10 minutes. Went inside to check status. Food finally came out. They let me know their shake machine was down - substituted their weird desert cup thing instead of a shake. Not good. This last time I went it was 5pm on a Wednesday. No one in the drive through line! Odd. I waited several minutes for someone to come on the intercom. Placed the order. Paid. Waited at the window another 5min to get our food. The cayenne chicken sandwich was disgusting. Seemed like the chicken breast was fried in bad oil? Or fried and then fried again? Or over-fried? Don't go here. Paid $30 for two chicken strip baskets and a kids chicken strip meal and you'd thought we ordered steak bc it took 40 minutes for us to get our food which was cold and they didn't give us ranch for one of our meals. One we got our food, my husband went up to the counter to politely ask for our missing ranch and quickly got told by the worker " you have to pay for ranch" and he told her he did. There is no excuse for this behavior really unless there is some kind of disability but I think she was just being a stickler and exercise some control in the situation. I mean she took our order and brought it out- as if she probably didn't know she didn't put the ranch in one meal. Just don't waste your time or money here. They weren't even busy and couldn't handle getting a few chicken strip and fries right which are deep fried foods- no fancy culinary skills needed. No one was in drive thru, they weren't that busy and the few people there waited forever also. The bread was burnt to a crisp. No communication what so ever from the worker/s. A little curtesy or communication would have went a long way. Now, to wait 24 hours to make sure we don't have food poison. Store. #3705. Date of visit 3/23/24. We ain't from here and I'd rather scavenge for food out in the woods to visit this restaurant ever again. 1 star is actually too generous for this absolutely awful establishment. You will be waiting a minimum of 30 minutes in the drive thru. Countless times these employees have forgotten a majority of my meal or have just gave me the absolutely wrong order where I had to correct them. Absolutely horrendous experience. My party of 2 waited an entire hour from when we got in line for the drive-thru to when we left the lot with our food. I understand that it is a relatively new establishment and it was a little busy, however 30 of the minutes we waited were spent in front of the pickup window waiting for our food while multiple cars behind us were getting their food. After the initial 15 minutes, we were notified that our order wasn't even put through into the system and had to wait while they made our order of 2 Slim Meals, a very standard order for another 15. After getting our food, we were thinking, man, this food better have been worth the hour wait, however just straight up not the case. First, there was only one sauce per meal, when we ordered 2. Second, the fries were so salty I think I developed heart problems from this one meal. Finally, I'm not sure how one messes up drinks, but the drinks tasted like warm, syrupy water instead of sweet tea and Dr Pepper. Overall, horrible experience, and I'm just praying a Zaxby's comes to St. Louis. read more
