Great place for a $10 lunch -- it's a bar that serves good pub grub (burgers, wings, chilli). Nothing fancy, utensils wrapped in paper napkins, water in a shaker glass, one page menu and all the food is made very well. Eat at the bar for best service. They have local bands there all week, looks like a fun place after dark. Beef brisket and ground beef chilli is great -- not spicy -- but very tender meats. Add toppings for extra -- I got the sweet peppers. Served over mac and cheese, about $8.00 a bowl. Not too little not too much. Buddies got their cheeseburgers for $9 with fresh cut fries. 1/2lb patty cooked on a griddle. Usual toppings, buddy's say it well seasoned, juicy and tasted great. read more

This place was recommended to me by some buddy's today and they way the described the food, I had to go...Today! The reaturant itself looks like someones mancave and it give this place alot of character. There is hust enough but not too much flare on the walls. Pretty cool vibe kind of a "divesturant" (I just made that up). The service was top notch, even though this was first visit I felt like a regular. The wait staff were very friendly and personable and they knew the menu top to bottom. The Menu: Simple staples with many moving parts. Staples include Chilli delicious, glorious chilli! In about 4 varieties that you van incorporate into to other dishes. I had the chilli burger which was an open faced toasted bun with one of their signature chillies spread over it. It was delicious and filling. Slim's also has a good selection of beers and mixed drinks, not so many that its overwhelming but enough to snob if you wanted too. Overall I recommend this joint, I will definitely go back the next time I'm in town. read more

When we fly into Seattle 3 or 4 times a year Slims is our first stop, no matter what. My husband really enjoys the burgers, and the fries are cut fresh there and if you ask for extra crispy, they are, and are great. My husband eats burgers all across America, and gives Slims an A--...better than a B+. But the burgers are not why we rush there first chance. It's the Turkey and White Bean Chili!!! Lets face it folks, if 2 native Texans hit the joint the minute we can...It's totally THE BEST!!! Many time have I eaten here and the food is always different. They were on a great streak of juicy flavorful burgers and PERFECT fries then something happened. Overcooked burgers and undercooked fries. New cooks? Also ordered the wings and received only THREE wings in a box. I hope they figure it out and kick some butt around in the kitchen for I really would like to return here to eat sometime...... so i saw this place on foodnetwork and decided to try this out. i met up with my cousin here on his lunch break. lol, he wore a really nice suit and a vest and ordered the chili dog. anyway, i ordered the green chili. it was good. i think its super over hyped from tv, but i suppose it was worth trying. service was really slow and it seemed like the server/bartender was more interested in gossiping with the regular bar flies than serving the customers who were sitting at the tables. pretty pricey for a bowl of chili and a hotdog... i may come back if i ever have a craving for chili read more

Saddened by the BBQ and beer selection at PIg Iron next door, I slid over to Slim's. Green chile fiend that I am, I was cheered to see a chile/pork stew on the menu. Too full to try any of the four chili varieties, I did avail myself of their better beer selection and full(er) bar. Nice pool table and an interesting crowd. Cheaper prices than most. Small room with large stage: should be a great venue to watch a show. read more

Slim's is on pretty solid ground. It's got a great Texas roadhouse feel. The tiny, open kitchen puts out some decent grub. I had a difficult time not choosing the crawfish po' boy and had to keep reminding myself that it was my 1st time there and I had to sample the chili, it is a chili shack, after all. I ordered the chili verde and a side of corn bread. The flavor of the sauce was great, a little under-salted, but great. The tomatillo and chilies were well balanced, had a nice amount of heat and a hint of fresh cilantro. My only criticisms were take there should have been more pork and I would have preferred that they cooked fresh pork in the chili and let it simmer with the sauce rather than adding pulled pork from the Pig Iron and that I thought that it was a little expensive at $7.95 a bowl, especially when having to pay an additional $3 for cornbread. But I will be back to try their other Chili and that Crawfish po' boy! read more

Ehh. To be honest, I didn't really see what the hype was about. We went in around lunch time on a Monday. Service was horrible. Tried to order the hot dog and was told they were out of buns and the grill guy was about to get some. So. Ordered the chili burger. Ehh. The chili isn't very favorable. I dumped tons of hot sauce on it to no satisfaction. We ordered fries but there were never brought to us and yet we were still bilked for them- so there's that awkward convo. There were only about three people in the place while we were there, so no real excuse. Aside from the service, the chili just didn't do it for me. The burger was flavorless and way over cooked. We drove from the north side of Seattle just to visit and be disappointed. Parking was easy.. That and the decor was on point. read more

If you are into tattoos, good beer and tattooed ladies this is your place. One of the few places in the greater Georgetown/SODO area with outdoor seating this is a great place anytime of year. A group of co-workers and I made haste to Slim's last week when the sun made a brief appearance. I commandeered the flatbed truck/stage in the back as it was the only remaining sunny spot. It was quite nice wearing my down jacket and sipping a beer until the wind kicked up. They generally have Hank III or someone similar playing, Shiner Bock on tap and chili with mac & cheese available. It is a great dive. read more

Wings here were pretty good. The chili wasn't as good as I hoped. It wasn't bad but was expecting a little more based off what others were telling me. The chili cheese fries were pretty good. Overall not a bad place but I don't think it was as good as advertised. read more

My fiance and I stopped by here after the Sounder's game, mostly because after seeing the episode of Drive-Ins, Diners, and Dives that featured this place for the 3rd time in a week, I figured I had to. There were only 2 other groups there, and they were only having drinks. The kitchen was about to close, but the waitress kept it open for us. I had the Chile Verde over the Mac and Cheese w/ the works & sweet tea, and my fiance had the Chile Verde over the grits w/cheddar and a diet Coke. I thought my chili was very good, just not $10 good. My fiance felt the same. It had a nice kick to it though and I cannot fault the service and the food tasted good, just think I should have gotten a bigger serving for the price I paid. read more

The inside was a little smaller than it seemed when I watched it on Triple D but the food was the real deal. The Chili Verde was delicious and the mac I got it one was killer. We got there a little later and a band was setting up and started to play by the time we left. It was a fun atmosphere and I would have enjoyed staying longer. read more

pretty cool joint. all in all(they even have a hams bears) but i came here for food more than drinks. the chili could have been a little fresher it had that dark i have been cooking all day in the pot look. portions were a little small. prices were not to bad. the bartender gal seemed nice. they have a cool outdoor area. which is a big plus.. read more

This place is kind of like a biker bar placed the the industrial area of Seattle but has some of the best chili I've tasted.

There are great bars, great BBQ, great southern food buts slims is a combo of all of them. A surly wiskey tequila bar with the atmosphere to match. The food is fresh and slow cooked from scratch. Girls let me tell ya leave your heels at home if you plan on going in the beer garden you will just end up getting stuck or becoming entertainment for everyone else. My advice is chili verde over mac with toppings and sweet tea... Don't argue just trust me. :) read more

The winner here is the Brisket & beans on top of jalapeño mac n cheese! It is money! The creaminess of the mac n cheese mellows out the bite from the chili, in a good way! I'm sure, each, by themselves is yummy, but together, it just brings the meal to a whole new level! The kobe beef chili dog was ok, nothing too special, IMO. The service was fast and friendly. When you think of a bar with a name like "Last Chance" dont you just think of vultures and tumbleweed and lots of cactus? Well the only "vultures" are the well endowed servers perched ready to assist at the nimblest nod. No tumbleweed, but the dirt parking lot lets in a little puff of dust now and again that frankly added to the atmosphere. And the only cactus comes in a shot glass. True to the name, this is virtually the last place to grab a bite on 1st ave south prior to the viaduct. The building is shared with Pig Iron-a fairly good BBQ spot (closes at 4pm weekdays-thus this review) Now to the food: Can you imagine a 100% Kobe Beef hot dog? MMMM, They have craw fish po'boy sandwiches, hand cut-thick cut french frys and huge "last chance burgers". Each of these items live up to the price-around $10 with frys though the burger, though recommended by one of the "pretty birds", was the least complementary item consumed. The craw fish po'boy had great flavors rich with hot sauce spiced mayo. Even though the sandwich was falling out of the bread I wanted more craw fish. The Fry's were great-throw on a little more salt and some hot sauce and away you go-transported to the 'ol west. If youve got to choose something, make sure you get the cornbread. It is exceptional. I LOVE this bar!! Great food, excellent service and rocking atmosphere with awesome bands. My staff and I regularly stop in for lunch. We are always greeted promptly with a big smile & sometimes a hug. The service is top notch. The chili is hot thick and fucking good! They know who I am and what I drink (yeah that still counts in my book). I am treated with respect and have never had a bad time here. Two years ago I spent my Bday sitting outside listening to hillbilly rockabilly bands and drinking in the sun. I fell in love with a couple bands that day. This is a real bar for real people who work damn hard and play just as hard. If you need a $15 drink please keep driving North. We will be down here in the South end kick'n some shit up. read more

Walked in on a Saturday afternoon and the place was all ours. Not a soul in there, which was shorly changed and stated to fill up by the time we left. I created my own chili cheese fries with the verde chili and pepper jack. Let's just say Awesome. Had a side of Mac N Cheese with jaleponeos which was pretty good. Finally stopped by one day after work to try this place. 5:00 hour there were plenty of seats. Within the hour, both indoor and outdoor seating (a bunch of picnic tables with umbrellas on a lawn) was packed. The crowd had lots of hipsters and business suits which was cool; and the staff were very attentive. My beer glass was never empty before they asked if I'd like another. I tried the jalapeno mac n cheese (no vegetarian chili on the menu that day). It was hot! But what did I expect with jalapenos ~ flavor and texture were good. read more

This is a great motorbike-friendly, laid-back pub with good food, a full bar and super friendly servers with empty-beer sensors. Beer ranges from cheap cans to a few local drafts. I got a thumbs-up to park the bike off-street on the concrete out front and soon after four other bikes joined mine. The crowd was everyone and no one seemed unwelcome. The food was great and you owe it to yourself to order something involving chili because they do that VERY well. We had Texas Red with the works, chili cheese dogs and, of course, jalapeno mac-n-cheese. Just like every review before mine, we loved it all. If you don't feel like what's on the menu, you can always order from the Pig Iron BBQ next door as it's the same owners so food goes back and forth. We liked and used the outdoor area that has a collection of tables and a flatbed truck to the side that doubles as a sound stage during warmer climates. Inside is a bar with a single pool table, food tables and another sound stage with live music at 9pm. read more

Went for lunch and ordered the chili cheeseburger. The burger patty was a pretty lifeless affair. Thin, grainy and cooked to death. I scraped the chili off the top and just ate that and the bun. The chili was fine, but it didn't blow me away. Service was nice. Liked the atmosphere. read more

Slim's Last Chance has two things going for it that make this one of my favorite places in Georgetown. Thing #1: This is, as far as I know, the only country-western bar in Seattle that is not full of hipsters busy being ironic. Most of the people I see at Slims are actual people who I think probably genuinely appreciate this bar for what it is. It reminds me of one of my favorite bars back in Chicago, Carol's (which I hear has since become overrun with hipsters being Ironic, sadly). Thing #2: The chili is DA BOMB! You may balk at paying almost $10 for a bowl of chili, but trust me, it's worth it. I've tried all four of their chilis, and I can't decide which is best. This is regular lunch spot, especially when I'm taking my contractor customers to lunch. The chili gets rave reviews, and most of my contractor customers really appreciate the service. :) It definitely fits the "hole in the wall" charm that people look for, and it has plenty of character.
