After exploring Yellowstone, husband and I built up an appetite. This spot was convenient for us. It was walking distance and right across from the inn we were staying at. The name of this pub also caught our attention, cute name, so decided to have dinner here. The food was very good! I ordered the elk burger and my husband ordered the bison meatloaf. I had a bite of his meatloaf and it was delicious. It was seasoned very well! It was also bigger than we thought it be. So good portion size. They have a good variety of beer and wine but we aren't fans of beer nor wine so no alcohol for us but I recommend the food. read more

If your a local, you already know not to eat here. The owner relies on tourists walking in so she can be rude, cocky and unwelcoming. The food was terrible and one plate had old food stuck on it. If our plates were dirty, what does the kitchen look like. After going here, we spoke with several locals who all said "all the locals know not to eat there." Stopped here after a day at Yellowstone, knew nothing about it other than there was a parking place in front. Not something we saw often in town! We were told a 45 minute wait, was closer to 65, lots of large groups. The bar is not for sitting unless that is where they sit you to eat. As everywhere, not enough staff. Ent to the side of the bar where those waiting were ordering drinks, the guy in front of of me was served by the bar, I waited another 10 until the hostess asked if needed something and got the bartender. He was not serving customers all the time btw, he washed glasses, he joked with the staff, put stuff away.... When we were seated, we ordered elk burgers, one with Fries and for an upcharge, one with a small salad, the burgers were very dry and, in my opinion, overcooked. I would give zero stars since we could not stomach the food, but our waiter from Azerbaijan was very good. The star is for him. He did his job well, and I left a 20% tip for him. We ordered fish and chips, and the hot wings. The wings were overcooked, completely dry to the point that they were like a bad chicken jerky. My daughter ate one bite, and I felt the wing that felt like leather. My fish and chips were also hardly edible. I ate 1 of the 2 3" long skinny oil-soaked pieces of fish before giving up. The chips tasted like the oil had not been changed recently. I addressed the complaint to the waiter, and he brought a side salad to substitute for the fries. The ranch dressing, which I was told is house-made, poured and tasted like mildly seasoned water. The waiter said that they would comp the wings, but nothing else even though almost my entire meal was uneaten. I talked to the manager, and he disagreed about the quality of the wings, chips, and salad dressing. He sad he stands by their dressing. He said they had never had complaints about the food other than the chips. I looked carefully to see if his nose was growing. The food was horrible. They gave me the card to call the owner tomorrow to ask for a refund, but I am on vacation and will not waste my time to call her while out hiking. Another employee came up in support of the manager, and threatened to call the cops if I tried to leave without paying for the inedible food. I had not made any move to dine and dash before she made that statement. (Side note: I am pretty sure you actually have to eat more than a few bites of the meal to call it a dine and dash.) I paid, and tipped the waiter, but would NEVER set foot in this establishment again. Managers should have the power to void a ticket for inedible food, and no one should EVER be threatened with having the cops called over a few bites of fish, two fries, and a single bite of a leathery wing. read more

Upon first arrival, we were told there was a 15 minute wait for our party of 4, and the restaurant was packed. However, we were seated within 5 minutes of us standing in the waiting area. Ordered 2 appetizers -- jalapeño wontons and wings. So delicious, and came out just as quick. Not long after finishing our appetizers, our meals came out. Everything was so quick and efficient, literally the fastest sit-in/dine-in experience ever, but we certainly did not feel rushed. Everything tasted amazing, and we were left absolutely impressed. I wouldn't be surprised if our dinner experience was a total of 30 minutes. Definitely a place to grab quick bite if you need, while also wanting table service! Highly recommend sitting at the bar if your looking for fast, attentive service. The best spot in West Yellowstone to try all the local beers (over 20 on tap and they offer flights). All of the food we had was fantastic. The place is the most busy post 5:30pm - so get there right before that and you're seated right away. Definitely the "hippest" place in town and not something we expected here. Food was excellent. The bbq bacon cheeseburger was fantastic and both the regular fries and sweet potato fries were good. Burgers were large and hard to finish (but we did) and the quality was excellent. The boy opted for a salad and the baked potato soup. Both equally as good as the burgers the wife and I ordered. It was good with the wonton but was not too sweet or bitter. 12 OZ prime rib w/slow roasted horseradish-pepper rubbed served with French fries and seasoned vegetables. The rub on the meat is very tasty. The meat was made to perfection!!! Not dry at all!! Very happy with how the meat is cooked. I had an end piece so it was a little salty but that's to be expected. The vegetables were just a little overcooked but the flavor had a nice sweet buttery taste to it. The French Fries were good overall. The smaller pieces were a little overcooked but the main big pieces were perfect! Nice and moist in the middle and crunchy on the outside. They are also long. The seasonings are great not too much and not too little. I did not have to add any salt or pepper to them at SERVICE***the waiter was at first seemed to be a little rude. When we walked in we were immediately met with a rude hostess, who made snarky comments and shot dirty looks at us. It was unbelievable. The entire system felt disorganized and our waitress, while kind was at our table twice the entire time. As for the food itself, it was clearly frozen, dry and old. Even my salad wasn't made well. The place is open, airy and definitely has a western style vibe. We sat in one of the elevated booths and had a look at the fairly large menu. It's fine. We ordered a salad & I had the elk burger with fries. The elk burger was a first for me and I have to say it was very very good. My husband said his salad was also good. The servings here are massive. A mix of locals and tourists. The service was okay, Very matter of fact approach, something I felt is the complete opposite to the service industry of the South. We were in West Yellowstone and looking for a place to eat so decided to stop by the Slippery Otter Pub. There was a line outside so we put our name down and were told it would be 25-minute wait. We waited, along with everyone else, for more than 25-minutes; 45-minutes later we were seated. As we had plenty of time to wait, we knew what we wanted but it took a long time for someone to come and get the order. Once the waitress did come, she was not very pleasant and just took the order. She asked if anyone wanted anything to drink, and 3 of us said water to which she interrupted and said "i'm bringing water for the table, anything else"; she never brought the water. We were ignored by the waitress for the first 15 minutes. When the food finally showed, my wife's salad was full of rotting lettuce. My burger was cold to the touch, way overdone and was completely bland. No salt or seasoning of any kind. Fries were also super overcooked and bland as well, with no salt or any seasoning. We are staying next door at Best Western and my wife found on a website that this place is a must try. Having been there tonight, we left the place underwhelmed. First off, great decor and it looked very much like a restaurant vibe and not a pub. The place was very immaculate. Now onto the food, we ordered the 6 pieces hot wings appetizer for $11. The wings were too fried and that was all that you could taste. Not good at all. My son and I shared 12" Old Faithful pizza which had pepperoni and mushroom toppings. The thin crust pizza was mediocre and nothing to boast about. My wife got the steak salad with the blue cheese reduction. Of all the dishes, that one stood out as the winner. I hate writing a bad review during COVID but this meal was too disappointing to let it slide. Ordered the Elk burger togo. The menu I found had it listed as $14 but it rang up as $18. Okay prices change but then they charged an additonal $1.80 fee for take out which I assume the restaurant pockets not the waitress so I tipped onto of that so she didn't get shorted. So I paided 35% more than I was expecting but that probably wouldn't have mattered if it was good but unfortunately it was barely edible. It tasted like one of the frozen processed burgers you buy at the grocery store. Honestly they should take it off their menu so more tourist dont get conned into buying it.
