Pizza of the Day & Sliver Green Sauce 8oz
    Allison Y.

We visit Sliver whenever we come to Berkeley and it never disappoints. The pizza is always hot and fresh and the flavors are great! Previously I wouldn't have liked that you only have one pizza flavor to choose from, but they've all been great and with the green sauce, even better! The service is always fast and friendly, though I will say we tend to pop in during odd hours of the day (like mid afternoon) so it's never crowded when we go. The interior is clean enough and pretty spacious. A good place to hang out with friends and enjoy some pizza.

Had to come here when visiting berkeley. I've always ordered from the store on shattuck so this was my first time here after graduating years ago. I was psyched that the slice of the day had both corn and potato - the 2 pizza toppings I realized I loved after having them on a sliver's pizza. Sad that they just give you a tiny container of the green sauce now. I remember filling a cup up with that stuff before in college. Delicious as always.

Corn pizza! This spot really shines in its daily different ways pizzas with fresh ingredients! There's no line to wait and the whole pie comes out within minutes. Service is kind and will give water cups. It's a causal spot and spacious restaurant with table and booth seating!

Sliver never disappoints! Fresh ingredients, cooked perfectly, extra cheesy, and full of flavor! We love the corn and asparagus toppings as well as their mushroom pizzas. You can't forget the green sauce either. Staff was super friendly and they had cute holiday decor. We will be back!

a berkeley classic! their green sauce is amazing as always (and I don't usually like cilantro). I ordered a slice of the daily special as a snack and of course it came with a sliver! I personally love it when their pizza comes with corn (their menu rotates daily) and FYI all their pizzas are vegetarian. Sliver reminds me of Cheeseboard but is more conveniently located near campus/southside. Usually my friends and I would order a whole box and share the whole thing. Service is very fast and you bus your own table.

You don't have to stand and hold up the line anymore because there's only one pizza option on the menu. The staff is friendly and they'll get you your order in about 5-10 minutes. Plenty of seating, such as tables, benches, or a couch. The pizza will come with green sauce, which you can feel free to smother all over your slivers. The green sauce provides some freshness and acidity to the savoriness and cheesiness of the pizza. A go-to spot for me in Berkeley.

TLDR: Yummy Veggie Pizzas by the Slice or Whole, Friendly Service, Spacious interior, casual vibe. Find it on Downtown Shattuck Ave just a couple doors down from the main entry to the Berkeley BART station. Carnivores need not wince.. this is good stuff, speaking as a fellow carnivore! Vegan friendly if that's your thing.. B a c k s t o r y : Being a college town, Berkeley is no stranger to Pizza, with nearly every variety represented here across the many pizza joints scattered through town. Yet, as an enclave for "healthy" eating, Berkeley seems to have its own take on vegetarian pizzas, which started out at The Cheese Board further up Shattuck Avenue in the "Gourmet Ghetto", but has since expanded to "Sliver Pizzeria" - an entirely new local chain of pizza places started by alumni from the Cheese Board. The P I Z Z A : At Sliver, there is a different Pizza-of-the-Day every day, Veggie, of course. Though the toppings may seem sometimes a bit unconventional often with Yukon Potatoes, Corn, a hint of lime usually over Mozzerella, the result is tasty and amazing on the tongue. The crust is thin, like a NY style and what's cool and why they call this place "Sliver" is that you get a bonus sliver of pizza to go with your normal-sized slice. At the condiments bar, they also have a zesty green sauce and limes to go on the side with your pizza. Sliver also has locations on Telegraph, two more locations in Oakland and over in Lafayette too. My go-to is this Sliver here in Berkeley. Count me in as a "regular" =)

Their special pizza and cilantro green sauce was amazing! Super fast and tasted so goood!

We visited on a Wednesday evening, and was glad to find a place that was open late. (We were coming from the airport) Found this place and decided to give it a shot, since it had great reviews. We entered and loved the simplicity of their menu. Choose how many slices you want with their pizza of the day. We decided to get a two slice with their green sauce. Whomever created their green sauce, *chefs kiss*. Their pizza was delicious too. We will definitely be back.

    Slice of potato pizza

Not crowded on a Saturday noon. A good amount of indoor seating, felt spacious. There's even a couch area. My friend and I each ordered a slice of the pizza of the day, which was the potato pizza. It was ready in less than 10 minutes. It came piping hot and I liked the crunch of the crust. The green sauce was pretty good too! Added lots of flavor to the pizza and I dipped it for every bite.

    Sally C.

Service is great. Food is great. Check the menu online before you stop by. It's only one type of pizza per day. Their green sauce is very good. Overall, good price and taste so yummy.

    Ria B.

Finally tried sliver and it was great! They only have one pizza flavor per day and the day I went was Yukon potatoes and corn and it was delightful. The corn was sweet but there wasn't a crazy amount which can over power the pizza and the potatoes were crispy even though it was on top of a pizza and under cheese. Also they had this cilantro pesto sauce which is so delectable to have with the pizza. My favorite part is the tiny sliver of pizza they put on top of every order it's so cute. Service is super fast as the pizza is already made, they just warm it up and pack it in a box before handing it to you. It's a typical fast casual place, you bus your self and order at the front.

Do you get a sliver when you order a whole pizza?

Yes! You usually get 2 or 3 :)

Is the green sauce still free?

    Yes I believe it is!

Do they have gluten free pizza by the slice?

The gluten free crust option is by the pie not slice

    How is the vegan pizza?

The vegan pizza is like a salad on top of pizza dough. No cheese or sauce.

For one it brings back so many good memories, Blondie's always makes me happy. The second reason is they now have 100% BEEF PEPERONI! You heard me, 100% BEEF PEPPERONI! For some people that's not a big deal. For someone who hasn't eaten pork their whole life & always has to avoid getting pepperoni on their pizza, its a HUGE freaking deal. I love, love, love when the rare occasion happens that I get to enjoy BEEF PEPPERONI on my pizza. OK besides that, the pizza is amazing. I was literally closing my eyes and in my happy place the whole time. Now for those that never had BEEF PEPPERONI, please go try it. It is so much higher quality than pork pepperoni, so I've been told. I plan to make many more trips in the near future, thats how excited it made me. By the way I loved the cheese just as much, yum yummy. Pro tip: parking is hard, obviously, downtown Berkeley and all. So either walk, Uber, find parking, take the bus, or do as I do and tag team it and drop off a friend to go order for the whole car and drive around until they are ready to be picked up. Do what you have to, just get there. Now go enjoy yourself, you can thank me later.

We were greeted by the friendliest server (a tall guy with curly hair whose name I unfortunately didn't get but shout-out to him) who asked us if we had any questions about the menu. I did ask our server about crust options though and ended up going with the New York style because I didn't have the stomach capacity for the slightly thicker options like Detroit but perhaps next time with a bigger group! We ordered The Standard, which seemed like a good choice because of the diverse, balanced toppings, and the chicories & beets salad. The salad arrived quickly, and the pizza was brought to our table soon after. I liked how refreshing and crisp the salad was, but the pizza was really what I wanted. It was everything I wanted in a pizza - definitely the best choice of the lineup imo. The crust was so soft and pillowy I couldn't resist devouring it all and leaving no trace. In contrast, we also tried a seasonal vegan pizza prepared in the thinner-than-Sicilian Grandma style - this was also delicious and the crust was satisfyingly crunchy. We appreciated the quality ingredients and thoroughly enjoyed our meal. The arancini balls were pretty good but the stars were the pizzas. Service was efficient, helpful, and friendly - Laura herself was on hand to make recommendations and answer all our questions. The space had a nice vibe and was clean and comfortable. It looked like they only had one server working the inside and one outside, which is obviously insufficient on busy days. We read that spicy Caesar is a must, so we ordered one as an appetizer. It was pretty good but I wouldn't go back just for that. The two pizzas we tried were Margherita and classic pepperoni. IMO these two pies should showcase every great pizzeria, and Rose does them well. The pizzas are slightly bigger than Neapolitan pies and cut larger, almost NY style. The drink menu is appropriate for a pizzeria, wine and beer. But all the beers are in cans, no drafts, so I went with house wine instead. The prices are what you'd expect to pay at better pizza places in California nowadays, around $25 for a pizza. For a pizza out of electric oven, Rose is one of the better ones I've had. But compared to brick ovens, I don't think any electric oven pizza will come close. To say the hype around Rose is worth it, would not be truthful. There are definitely better pies in the area.
