Great company! Our Subzero fridge broke and couldn't maintain a cool temperature. Alexei came out the same day to diagnose the issue, order led parts right away and go back to us to repair asap. Fair price. Great friendly service. Everything is now fixed up and in great order. Very friendly and available customer service. Of note they're also known as ABV Appliance so don't be spooked. We used Smart Step Repairs to replace the broiler element in our oven. When we called (no online scheduling as far as I can tell) we got an appointment for the next day. The technician Alex was great. He was prompt and very knowledgeable. It took awhile for the part to come in after the first visit but that's understandable. They called me once they got the part and it was installed the next day. After he left we realized the cabinet door on one side and drawer on the other were blocked/sticking by the oven door - Alex came by the next day and adjusted it in no time, and for no charge. Technician couldn't make our appointment and while they did communicate to let me know I had already worked remotely that day. Anyhow we found a new date and the guy was fine he determined we need a new ice maker. I was quoted $695 in the next day or so. The part is $100 maybe less. Another company came out, and was able to get it working for $250. If we need the part later it will be another $90. I had to eat their service fee but still came out with functional icemaker for way less. I was honestly shocked at that nearly $700 price tag. No thanks. read more

I had broken my dryer drying sneakers which lodged between the drum. I had used Smart Step before with great success. There phone service answers at all times so I did not have to wait hours for a reply. Alexi came out diagnosed problem. Removed all parts which where damaged and ordered parts. They were upfront with costs . Since I love this dryer and washer I decided to repair even though cost was over $500. In a week after ordering parts Alexi returned on schedule time fixed the dryer and replaced all parts. Since I was a returning customer I got a nice discount. DRYER works fabulously! Our stove, dishwasher, and fridge (ice maker) all broke in a short period of time. I called Smart Step and they sent someone out to diagnose the issues. I paid them the nominal fee they charge with the understanding that if I hired them for the repairs, it would be deducted. Smart step called back a few days later, as promised, with a quote. I agreed within 24 hours (after consulting with my wife) that we would have them do the repairs. They came at the set time, completed the repairs quickly, and charged me the exact price they told me. It wasn't cheap, but I am very happy with the work and they were very easy with which to do business. I will hire them again if I need appliance repairs. read more

We called Smart Step when our dryer stopped blowing warm air. Our tech, Alex, was at our house within 30 minutes of me making the call (on a Saturday!). He quickly diagnosed the problem with the dryer, gave me a reasonable quote, and within about 90 minutes the dryer was fixed for the price that he quoted. He even cleaned out lint and dirt that had gathered in the dryer unrelated to the service issue. Service was extremely prompt and very professional. Called Smart Step this morning about our wine refrigerator not cooling properly. They set up an appointment timeframe of eleven to one today, and the technician (Dave) showed up at 12:35. After diagnosing the problem, Dave quoted two options along with relative prices. We opted for repairing with no warranty. In less than an hour, Dave completed the job and demonstrated that it was working again by showing us the pictures he took of before/after of his temperature readings. The refrigerator continues to decrease back to the normal temperatures, and it should be back to normal within a few hours. Here is hoping that the fix continues to work. Dave also did an excellent job of cleaning up after himself and was both professional and friendly throughout the appointment. This was a very good experience. read more

I found Smart Step Repairs from Yelp reviews. I contacted them explaining my refrigerator door would not close properly. Victoria responded within an hour or so and provided me with the service information. So I decided to call and make the appointment over the phone. I told her I am not sure if the refrigerator was worth the money to fix so she asked me to send her pictures and she will discuss the problem with the technician. Hours gone by, I thought she forgot about me. She contacted me at the end of the day and recommended me buying a new one instead of fixing the door.
