Used to be good but got bought out and ruined. Quality dropped well below jack in the box for 3 times the price. Literally go anywhere else.

As Americans we are so jaded (or snobby) about our burgers . They are everywhere, on every corner, so we have the right to be picky. Smashburger delivers. But what I like about Smash are their ingredients. They are heads above any fast food joint. Fresh, never frozen and local whenever possible. I recently deviated from the traditional cheeseburger and got the Mushroom Truffle and their BBQ with shoestring onion rings on top. EMG!!! Delicious. I'm not really an American that craves burgers but I'm not lying to you when I say I CRAVE those two burgers. Step outside the burger box and order them. They'll have you coming back to Smash for a weekly fix. Also, they have New Belgium brews here (local pairings, love that). That's something Wendys and Good Times don't have. Beer. I moved here 7 months ago and had yet to try Smashburger. I'm glad I hadn't because I went to the Yelp event in Longmont last night with no preconceived notions. It was a great opportunity to sample 8 sandwiches in quarter pieces. Where to start? The Classic Smash is a decent burger but once you try the others it's hard to compare. I am a big fan of the BBQ Bacon & cheddar burger. I loved the zest BBQ sauce and the egg bun. I highly recommend this burger. Next we sampled the truffle mushroom & swiss burger. I'm not a big fan of 'shrooms but the baby portabellas are mild. The genius addition to the this burger is the truffle mayo. It is delicious. Maybe a bit overpowering if you don't like truffle flavor but I do and this burger melts in your mouth. This quickly became my favorite burger, until I tried the Colorado burger. Hands down this is their best burger. Hard to go wrong with any of the burgers, I even enjoyed the veggie black bean burger, but if you want to try just one then get the Colorado. The green chilis give this juice burger a nice kick. I violated my no starch diet for this occasion and I'm glad I did. The Smash fries are tasty and I really like how skinny they are. But, step up and get the sweet potato fries. Mmmm, that's all I have to say. And, for the diet conscious you can opt for the carrot & green bean "fries". If you only have room for one app then order the "secret" fried green chilis. Not such a secret since everyone knows about them but they aren't on the menu. If, and that's a big if, you have room for dessert then you have to try the Haagen Dazs ice cream shakes. The fact that they are made with real ice cream rather than artificial stuff from a machine is a huge plus. A great big thanks to the owner of the newish Longmont location and the staff which was very friendly and helpful. My only complaint is that now that I know how darn good these burgers are is that I'll have to return soon. read more

Great burgers! Great chicken burgers! Fries were really good, but the fried green chilies is where its at! We received fast, friendly service and our food came out quickly. We had the CO burger and the spicy Baja burger w reg fries. The good: fresh, fresh ingredients! The fries were pretty good. Food was fairly quick to come out on a Saturday night w lots of customers. The bad: The food wasn't bad. It was kind of fine. No amazing flavor which i expected in something that contained jalapeños and guacamole. It was super bland. My husband's burger was juicy but lacked in flavor as well. It was super busy w only two empty tables, both were dirty. I asked an employee to clear one of them, she reacted as if I had asked her to move a Rocky Mountain. Another server cleared it,w out saying a word to us. The table wasn't wiped so we just enjoyed our dinner over the previous customers crumbs. Verdict: eh. I can deal w bad customer service and a tiny bit 'messy' for great food! But, they don't have great food. So-If it's not busy and I want a burger but not a reg restaurant, I guess Smashburger is fine. Otherwise, no, I won't be back. read more

Good, delicious hamburgers, bad and rude service. We ordered 7 burgers for pick up over the phone, they never said anything over the phone other than see you in 45 min. When we arrived, we weren't greeted politely at ALL. There was no "thank you" and the staffs attitude was beyond rude. The cashier started arguing and complaining about how hard it is for her to take "large" orders by phone and how we should have used their online platform. She began to talk to my husband and I as if we were the dumbest people on earth, making us feel as if we had committed an atrocity by simply ordering over the phone. We felt incredibly uncomfortable about the situation, during and after. If it was truly an inconvenience they should have mentioned something over the phone! My husband and I were immensely baffled by her crazy rude and inappropriate behavior. After the cashier had cooled down and we payed, ANOTHER lady came up to us, handing us the burgers, and with an even WORSE attitude than the first. In a horrendous voice and terrible attitude they AGAIN began to shame us for not ordering through the online platform. I honestly believe their rude and disrespectful behavior came from them being lazy and too incompetent to make 7 hamburgers in 45 mins. Pathetic. It makes me wonder how they would react if I went in person to order 7 hamburgers. Would they mock me and ridicule me at the register? Eh. With their class, they probably would. We normally eat at the Loveland Smashburger but wanted to see if this one in Longmont was possibly better so we tried it last night. I really like the way it is set up inside with an actual menu board to easily see and order from. I ordered a Bacon Avocado crispy chicken and my wife had the grilled version. Also ordered Buffalo fries to go with it. When mine arrived it was way overcooked and was like the extra crispy version that I actually had trouble eating. Should have sent it back but did not want to wait another 10 minutes or more to get another one made. The fries were over salted with some kind of seasoned salt and our night was rather disappointing in here. They were extremely busy and seemed like they maybe rushed the food out. My sandwich only had one small piece of bacon that was burned inside which again was a disappointment. Overall will not return to this location again, guess you have a 50/50 chance of getting a good meal in here and ours was not nearly the food quality as the Loveland location. read more

I went to Smash-burger last year and let me tell you, I have never ever had a problem with the guys working here. They always greet and always make your food the way you like it. The people who work in front of register are amazing. They just smile and take care of everything! I love their classic smash or their truffle mushroom Swiss! Not sure my last visit even deserves one star with how terrible everything was. The food was terrible and not visually appealing at all, the restaurant was extremely dirty, and the service was awful! It says a lot about a restaurant when all of the employees look pissed that customers are coming in. Not good for business at all and the manager on duty was also extremely rude, which I've noticed is a trend at this location. Will not be back again. read more

5/6/17. I'm downgrading my review to four stars. The last few times we've stopped by the buns seemed to have shrunk, and the were cold even though I asked to have them grilled or at least steamed. If this continues I will be visiting less often. Please fix the bun situation! We go here at least once a month (usually more). Burgers are always great (and hot). One of my pet peeves is luke warm food. Sometimes I can't even eat my burger when it arrives it's so hot. Sides are always great. Smash fries are a staple with me. Want to save some money? Get a "build your own" burger. Under $5 for a regular size (which is big enough for me). If you've never been to Smash and you love burgers then you gotta try it at least once. If you don't like it I will pay for your meal! JK read more

I'm so happy that we have a smash here in Longmont. I love their hamburgers. This new location is easy to get to, great wait staff.

The short version: Smashburger is a very good tween (in between fast food and sit down) restaurant that focus on higher quality ingredients and well thought out food combo's to be you standard for counter style burger joint. The longer version: Smashburger is one of the many Food chains moving to counter service and increase quality of food. Food is not "fast" but but is pretty quick for sure, getting to your table around 6-8 minutes after you order it. Quality is well above any fast food joint within a few hundred miles of this place, and has a good variety of flavors. I had the opportunity to try most of their burgers, and while I felt their classic was fine, their special burgers are very tasty and helps smashburger stand on it;s own in this newly crowded field. The BBQ bacon burger was amazing, and I am extremely surprised to fall in love with the mushroom burger with truffle mayo so much! Both of these burgers are must have's, and the Colorado burger was also something everyone that likes a little spice should try! I am told each region has it;s own burger...so I need to try a smashburger in other states! I also tried their chicken which is someone unique and very thin. The chicken comes out...like their burgers...smashed, and has a lot of good flavoring coated on the chicken. Again, the basic Chicken was good, but the club chicken was something special, and another must try if you like grilled chicken, on a healthy tasting bun. I did try the meatless option, even though I love meat. If I could not eat meat, I might consider it...but lucky for me I can...so...If you don;t eat meat, they have something for you to try! Overall, Smash burger will be a staple for me on days I am in a hurry, but have time to eat other then a drive thru. Food is fast, and higher quality then I was expecting. Food is OK when you are in a pinch for a burger, but pricey. I still can't decide if Smashburger is worth the price because their policy is to overcook the meat patties to something like 140F. I am sorry, but all patties taste the same when it is overcooked and so a much lower priced Wendy's burger may be a better value, not that I would recommend eating a Wendy's burger or any fast food burger. I will just have to continue to make my own burgers at home. read more

Don't do it! We just received our order and even though I specified no cheese on it, it was delivered to us with cheese all melted into the bacon and the burger. The apple juice was not delivered for my child's kids meal and there was a hair in our french fries that went into my mouth and my daughter noticed it right as it was going in. I am sooooo grossed out by this. I called the store to fix the situation and they sent me to three people. Then the manager couldn't find my order for several minutes. She said that they could either refund me or make a new one and I would have to come pick it up rather than have it delivered because an outside service delivered it. So managers are not authorized to place a doordash order to fix a problem created by their employees at the store which is a terrible business model. She was able to refund our meal except for the item that I hadn't eaten that I did not know yet also had a problem. When I opened up my chicken breast sandwich, It was a hard cold slimy grease covered piece of chicken. I took a bite of it and there were little pieces of burnt burger from the grill all over it. It was the most disgusting thing ever and I regret not having her refund that as well, but I was too busy trying to fix the other problems to eat my meal in the first place. The whole ordeal took about 10 minutes by phone AND she asked for my credit card number TWICE to fix it. So, you see how it is being run... I had to tell her that the kitchen staff either needed some ponytail holders or a hairnet as we dumped out the fries and noticed another hair in the bottom of the container!!!! Awful. Avoid the disaster and order from another burger place. This place has gone way downhill during the pandemic and I will never ever enter there or order from them again. read more

These are five stars for two different things...the hamburgers are always delicious... a given. But this is for the manager, Amber. She really has that management skill that is hard to teach...efficient with a smile. As I was waiting for my takeout I saw her dealing with a customer / dealing with the cookstaff / and dealing with a balky computer system... all with the demeanor of someone who should begin the trek into upper management. Sometimes we all don't get the opportunity to get into a business track at a university... but it doesn't mean they don't have business sense. What I saw with Amber was spot on. Brava. read more

My wife and I come here OFTEN! Great food and we get plenty of BOGO coupons from them through our email. Huge savings! Also, they have beer! And there isn't waitstaff that you have to tip. But they still bring you your food and take care of you and you get treated as if they are "waitstaff". Win-win! I love they "Colorado" burger! I also do the "Build Your Own" to save a few bucks. The salads are great too! I usually get chicken with my salad - either grilled or "fried". My wife likes the chicken sandwiches and also the salads. Ok, Smashburger, here is my one complaint... You've changed your bun within the past year or two and they just aren't the same anymore. They are definitely smaller (I can deal with that) but they are not warm usually. I was told that I need to ask for "double toasted" buns and when I do, that helps a bit but I wish they would grill the bun or steam them. I suppose I'm being picky, but that's how it is. I've even though about bringing my own buns in and transferring the meat and toppings to it. read more

Typically not a chain restaurant goer but smashburger is one of my few exceptions. The food is always fresh. I tend to customize my order, and the couple times they've gotten it wrong, they've been so gracious about making it right. The dining areas are always so kind, but this location always has exceptional staff, offering water while waiting for an order or starting up genuine conversation with patrons. Often has a line during peak times--to be expected--but moves quickly without sacrificing service quality. Above and beyond service for such casual and affordable (but quality!) dining. Quickly becoming my safe bet for my last minute dining options in Longmont. read more

Great place for a burger in Longmont. Lines move fast, food comes out promtly, hot, and fresh. Staff is friendly. Prices are right. I cannot think of anything to knock these guys on other then sometimes it seems to small... because every seat is full! My kids are finiky eaters when it comes to meat, but they devour the food here. My kids are fans of their Shakes AND for dad, they have beers. Ask for a Chipotle bun if you are into that flavor. It enhances overy burger I have had there. Very poor quality control. Would not take my order over the phone. Had to place on line order. Ordered 3 plain grilled chicken on egg buns. Received 3 on whole wheat with a TON of onions. Smash Fries. Lets talk fries. I don't like fries. At Smashburger, I've tried their sweet potato fries (awesome) or the Vegie Frites (fantastic - the carrot stick's the best) which both rock. Today, as a side to my burger, I actually ordered the Smash Fries, with rosemary, olive oil and garlic. Now while waiting for my to go order, I kept thinking to myself :"What have you done? You don't like fries!" And when I got back to my office and opened the bag, I have to say they looked pretty good. I put one in my mouth. I'm sold. We waited 20 minutes before receiving our order. And then the fries were cold. I sent them back, and some other fries, equally lukewarm, came back. I didn't eat them. The grilled chicken burger I had tasted great. I used the create your own option, and with spinach, onions, goat cheese, jalapeño and the smash sauce, it was a great burger. But for the money we paid, and with many more options now available in town, our experience at Smashburger was overall not very good. read more
