Fantastic location and service at the Manhattan Beach location. Love the modern decor, indoor and outdoor seating. The food here is a package well for takeout and keeps the temperature and freshness well. I got the double smash colorado burger along with the Brussell sprouts side which was large for the portion. They also offer cold brew coffee here. The Smashburger concept is unique as they flattened the patty for a larger grilled surface area. This is a new Smashburger location in the Manhattan Village mall. TIP: It's hard to find as mall maps are next to impossible to find on foot and not available at all from your car. Park near the bank and you'll see Smashburger. It faces away from the mall itself; it faces Sepulveda - which makes it that much harder to find for the first time. We've been here now 3 times and the staff are nice. They keep a clean shop. Lighting is bright and airy. Kids dig the casual vibe. Outdoor dining available. Probably one of the more affordable places in the mall - we see teenagers here grabbing bites. Hubby and I lived off Smashburger for a while after our first kid so we love the chain and got used to the Redondo Beach location. I think this MB location is getting into its operational groove. Pick up lines have had longer wait times - fries getting cold (ack). Perhaps the burgers will be a little more pink (as I like it) in the future -- I can ask for that next time if I remember. First time to Smashburger and last. Terrible parking at Manhattan Beach location, no handicap parking, had to park 50 yards away. Ordered on line for 5:30pm pickup. Burgers were pathetic. Looked like they were made 3 hours earlier when I placed the order, wilted lettuce, paper thin tomatoes. Ordered fries with chili. It was a small handful of fries with maybe a spoon full of chili. I ordered the Breakfast Smashburger ($8.59) with no cheese (I'm not a cheese person), but added avocado ($2 extra) and a regular fry ($3.69). Everything came out to be $15.31. I came here for lunch one Sunday. Ordered the smoked bacon brisket burger and the smashtots. The tots were nice and crispy with a hint of rosemary. The oil was only one some tots not all the tots. At first, I thought nothing was added to tots and just got regular tots. Definitely did not taste any garlic. The bacon brisket burger wasn't what I expected. I thought it was going to be thin slices of brisket but it was a thick cut like a tri-tip. It was also hard. It had so much bbq sauce and oil that the buns were soaked. If you love bbq sauce, great. If you only like moderate amount, then you might need to let them know to be light on it. They probably tried to hide or soften the brisket. The patty was not meaty at all, and it was dry. Overall, not sure I ordered the right burger. It was okay. Come back? Probably not. Inflation is on display here. The staff was professional. The place only had one other customer so it was clean. There's two TV's, with one showing a football game so that was nice while I was waiting for my food. Recently, I had my second visit to Smashburger. Ordered the Double Bacon and Fries. It was noon and place was pretty empty, which was strange. Service was good and like the drunk refills. Fries were okay, and you get a good portion. The burger, however, was off. Just didn't like the flavor but seemed cooked okay. But, the rest of the day, I didn't feel that good stomach-wise. Came here for another indulgent lunch with coworkers and the service has improved. It's understaffed but there's a sign indicating that and everyone is trying their best. There was a wait for the food (around 15-20 minutes) but it's not that bad. The rosemary tater tots are still my favorite side to get. The burgers look to be on the smaller side but are very filling. The brisket burger that I got put me in a food coma afterwards. Smashburger is on my team's rotation of places to go eat, and with it's proximity to Sidecar, you can be in for an indulgent food fest. read more

Here is another dilemma of mine. I really want to do 3 1/2 stars but yelp does not allow that. I went to the place in Manhattan Beach. Very clean. Very friendly staff. Tables could've used a little more wiping but that's OK Ordered regular burgers and fries. Were out in about five minutes. Staff brings it to your table. There is a self-serve Fountain beverage Machine. Overall the burgers are very decent. The price is middle of the road. I can't help comparing them to five guys or In-N-Out Burger. I think five guys is a little more expensive but well worth it. And I think in and out was a little cheaper and more of a fast food feel. I would definitely eat here again read more

Went here for dinner tonight and I didn't feel anything positive. The gentleman taking my order named John was very un engaged, un welcoming, and when they got one of our orders wrong he came very strong with his tone and sounded rude. John was also rude to an older man that went back to correct his order. Service was so bad they got all of our orders wrong. They give you numbers for your order and when they came to our table they didn't even know who were they bringing the food too. My son was ignored by John when he asked a question in front of my face and to finish off they gave us an extra burger and they didn't notice. Some chick in the kitchen was making faces when my sister went to address a wrong ingredient on her burger. So think twice before coming or speak up about the lack of good service when is given by people that are supposed to be trained to service you! read more

The 1star is for Yelp/GrubHub order process. Obviously the food is amazing here. For Yelp/GrubHub orders, this is NOT an automated process. The store do not know about the order until I arrive and then they had to manually input my entire order to have it made. I was told by the store mgr that when Yelp/GrubHub orders get placed, they don't get an notification or a chime about the order. Seems crazy for a national burger chain NOT to have food app orders automated into their ordering system. This delay cuts my lunch time 10 mins short. read more

A shout out to the amazing folks at the Yelp Elite Squad for putting this delightful experience together! Smashburger is in a stand alone building as part of a huge mall on Sepulveda Blvd (PCH)) in Manhattan Beach. The building and interior look new. Plenty of tables indoors and about half a dozen or 8 outside, in the front. Easy, free parking. You order at the counter. Be prepard to spend at least 5 minutes looking at the overhead menu board as all the food sounds delish. I went with the truffle mushroom & Swiss cheese burger. The staff bring yur food to your table. Maybe because of Covid, it was in a to go bag. Everything I needed was in the bag. I had onion strings as a side which were fresh cut and fried to a golden brown color. The way they should look. Bomb. The milkshake was very good. Smashburger ain't cheap. With the tax it came to over $20. But most decidedly worth it. I will be back! read more

Great burger spot with awesome service! I came here as part of a Yelp Elite perk where I got to have a free burger, side, and drink. The double truffle mushroom Swiss burger was very yummy with a good ratio of mushrooms to meat-- not too many mushrooms that would make the burger fall apart or make it messy, but definitely enough for the mushroom flavor to be very apparent and satisfy mushroom lovers. The truffle sauce complemented the mushroom and beef patty very well and was not an overwhelming element. The smash fries were shoestring fries with some herbs/seasoning on top- tasted like rosemary. Was nice if you want to change up your fry game a bit! This was my first time at a Smashburger and I was pretty pleased with my meal! I would be down to try some more of their burgers and potentially come back for the double truffle mushroom one.
