I love white castles! We do not have it in CA so when I come here, this is where I go for my fix. The little burgers/ sliders are well made, the meat juicy and the right amount of everything. Yes, we ordered a case and between 3 people we finished the case. Service was nice and helpful. I rarely go here so help deciding is a plus and the cashier was friendly. A huge plus in fast food is the staff and their meet and greet. Very well done! Ambiance is nice and modern and bright. It made it welcoming and there were quite a few people eating and ordering. I was SO excited to try this east coast staple for the first time. And it was absolutely, astonishingly, amazingly disgusting. Ahhh.....murder burgers. A thing of the late 80s for me when after flashing fashions at NYC's The Tunnel, Limelight, or Palladium clubs would bring my sisters, friends and I to a White Castle in The BX to feast on these 3-bite burgers. I guess there's nothing to boast about- but if you had a hangover, partied too much, etc- coming to White Castle was a given. Even in my beef eating days then, I'd always go for their chicken ones. My oh my have things changed. Hubs and I recently stopped at this Nanuet White C. during one of our trips heading down from Woodstock to somehow try and relive this oldie but goodie staple. Plus the rainy+gloomy weather in August, had 'junk food' written all over it. Nothing fancy. We did drive-thru. Hubs got 4 burgers+fries+soda. Since I don't eat beef or poultry, I thought about fries and onions rings- then my eyes zoned in on their Panko-crusted Fish Burgers. Yes and yes! These were so freaking tasty. I got 4- but I could've done 3 to keep my sanity. My chocolate shake- was indeed chocolate and not vanilla doused in brown syrup. Ditch the onion rings- these are shriveled. Crinkle fries have a crunchy outside+soft inside. Service is polite and even though we didn't step foot inside, the space looks well-maintained from the outside. Nutritious? It has come, trying White Castle for the first time. I honestly didn't know what to expect, the burgers are sliders, pretty small to eat fairly a quick meal. It had a pretty good taste, at least the one I ordered. The fries were up there as well, and plenty to eat to fill my stomach up. In the future, I plan on getting a couple of more burgers, to fill me up even more. I was very happy with the service I received, although the mic needs to be turned up quite louder. First was how freaking delicious their little square steamed cheeseburgers are. Second was how freaking inexpensive their little square steamed cheeseburgers are. The burgers are simple works of art -a pillowy soft steamed bun, a thin burger patty, a slice of pickle, and a little dab of ketchup and a dash of diced onions. That's it, and at $1.08 you won't have to dig deep into your wallet. Hell, my soda cost more than my two cheeseburgers. I know that White Castle isn't for everyone and it's become the butt of jokes about culinary quality, but I gotta tell you, I really enjoyed my rare visit to the Castle. I say rare because I don't think there are any White Castles at all in Connecticut. My boys and I were in nanuet for a football game and everyone after the game were doing the white castle run and run is exactly what's in the near future . The drive thru is a long wait so 15 loud fools originally from the Bronx are ordering inside and it's just like the old days once again. Our guilty pleasure means ordering 30 white castles burgers, 10 double cheese burgers , 12 boxes of chicken rings , 10 fries , 10 shakes, 10 sodas and a visit to cvs across the street for Pepto chewables. It wasn't the BEST White Castle I've had, I usually go to the one on Bruckner but was in the area and wanted to try this one. It was cool for what it was. I believe I ordered the bacon cheeseburger combo. The bacon could've been cooked better. It was alright, though White Castle isn't a 5 star restaurant so I got what I paid for. I went to this White Castle last week on a whim. It was the first time coming in after renovation month ago. It looks more open and welcomed. Before reno, it looked like a cafeteria line st a prison camp; glass booths vestibles, combination locks, Now it looks more open, more soaces to eat, there is a television to watch. I just had the 4 slide combo and drink. It was good. ,better than i expected. The staff was more diverse, very young, looking like a fun team. Nice to have it back open. I have been a White Castle fan for 6 decades and have enjoyed sliders at countless locations. When I saw this place on a recent trip I assumed I was in for another great meal. I was dead wrong. The dining room was beyond filthy. The grease on the floor was overshadowed by the smell of garbage. After I got my order of 4 sliders and an onion rings I noted there was not a condiment tray anywhere. I then asked the person at the counter for some ketchup and mustard packets. He returned with a plate with a pile of mustard and a pile of ketchup - with no knife, spoon or fork. Have you ever tried putting spilled mustard or ketchup on a small bun. It is impossible. This caused me to dip the burger in the mess, totally ruining the taste. The last straw was the sticky table from semi dried spilled soft drink. This place needs to be bulldozed. read more

My hubby wanted me to ask if Harold and Kumar were there but I refused(eyeroll) We were visiting family and had a craving for probably the cheapest burgers on the planet. .91 for 1?!? Count me in. Having spent many years in NJ as a teenager, I had fond memories of White Castle. Back then, having a dollar and some coins meant you could get 4 sliders, fries, and a drink. It was not only a great deal, it was all I could afford at the time. When my sons and I were recently watching a food program featuring White Castle, I told them how I loved it as a youngster. Since they grew up on the west coast, they had never been exposed to WC. On a recent trip to NYC, after watching a Broadway play in Manhattan, we decided to get a midnight snack. When we walked in just before midnight, we were greeted by a friendly person at the counter. She seemed like a mom and appeared surprised when I told her my sons never tried the WC sliders before. She was super nice and patient as we checked out the menu board for a few minutes before deciding on the 30-slider deal (15 hamburgers and 15 cheeseburgers), an order of fries, and a coke. These sliders come well-packed in a "briefcase" made of cardboard. Maybe it was partly because it brought back memories but they were absolutely delicious. I could see the boys were really enjoying them too. We brought back a few for my wife and she enjoyed them too. This WC location was right off a highway and was clean and well-lit. At no time did we feel unsafe, even at midnight. The workers were all very nice and the food and the service were top notch. For a fast food place, this is about as good as it gets. read more

Four stars for friendliness and food! It's always consistent and they have never messed up my order. The only downside is that this place is ungodly slow. There can be 3 cars total in the drive-thru and you'll be waiting for 10-15 minutes - not so fast-food to be honest. However, this last visit they saw how slow the order was taking for the customer in front of me and actually served me in a different drive-thru window. Right now service is extremely poor drive thru very busy. In the lobby 4 people who are not being served upon entering they waited 10 minutes which is in my opinion a really long time for fast food service JUST TO TAKE AN ORDER I ordered a double cheeseburger combo now you would think if the establishment is busy which means the food/ burgers are coming off the cooker hot NOPE my burgers were really cold as if room temperature would be hotter. An employee stepped up to take their order as the manager was on the register & assembling meals once again slowly. This is a Friday night going into a Saturday morning about 12:30 am. Sorry, but this review is based off of one and only one horrid visit. Order the two person combo, sack of ten with two fries and drinks. Asked for Jalapeno cheese. I've had many of these in Chicago.. never a problem. In Chicago. Its just a jalapeno cheese on top of a normal white castle burger. In Nanuet, they added some strange tasting red sauce. Wasn't ketchup. Since I got drive-thru I never had a chance to find out what it was. It tasted a bit strange, maybe like a mild sauce. I had two other guys with me also trying to enjoy this meal. A groomsmen and a groom. This was the early morning hours on the day of his wedding to be. All three of us had VIOLENT diarrhea. Like, GOD PLEASE HELP ME... diarrhea. Like.. I promise not to sin anymore if you please help me diarrhea. I was in fuckin' pain. I'm not saying this just to get more people to click this review as funny. Nothing was funny. I don't have White Castle within basically an hour from me so when I am near here, it's my sweet sin spot. My sister actually cried once when we arrived here (no, she only weighs about 110 lbs.) How was White Castle, you ask? It was freakin amazing! I try to eat healthy food and I have uttered the phrase "I don't eat fast food" for years. I can honestly say I have a thing for White Castle. First of all, I love crinkle cut fries. I don't know why, but I do. Their fries are always fresh. Second, their cheeseburgers are deceptively delicious. Just had White Castle today for the first time! Dude! Awesome burgers, not the greatest chain (that would be In-N-Out). This location was somewhat convinient - right off Rte 59 from the 287. The burger was so greasy it damn near ate trough the box (this is a good thing). All in all - a great burger experience. read more
