Cheater! I show a coupon for buy 1 get one free. We ordered 3 burger, and asked again .. cashier confirmed it will be charged for 2 Burgers only. But After going to table, when I look at the receipt I noticed it was fully charged for 3 burgers, discount coupon was not applied. When I reached to the cashier, she accepted mistake - she said, I can not refund money but instead I can give another coupon... and suddenly store supervisor came - he said mobile display of coupon is not valid coupon, you have to have print out .. etc. I asked if it is required to have printout . then you should tell me first when I asked! Then he said you can not come back after transaction is done! - I said you did transaction, there is not a POS display where I can confirm amount before swipe card - I gave credit card to you and you did transaction!! Finally he refunded money - but it was clearly an intentional cheating and I will never go back to that place again. read more

Food is excellent, love the idea of them bringing it and cleaning. Place would get five stars if they kept it cleaner, every time I have been in there it has been a mess. Other than that, this chain is picking up and this particular spot prepares its food pretty well. read more

I'd been to SmashBurger in East Brunswick one time, this was my second trip to the chain restaurant. I tried out North Brunswick's location, and it was absolutely HORRIBLE. I just a plain cheese burger, and the burger was the greasiest thing ever. So gross I had to wipe it off with a napkin. I love burgers, so grease isn't a problem, but this was ridiculous. The other two people in my party also agreed. Also, ordered a "Haagen Daaz Chocolate Milkshake". Well that's not what we got; instead we received a milkshake with chocolate syrup (Milkshake fans out there KNOW the difference!) Yuuuuuuuuck. Not going back here again. read more

I've eaten burgers at a variety of locations and I must say that SmashBurger ranks very high for me. My boyfriend treated me to my first time eating at the location in North Brunswick. I chose the Spicy Baja Burger, which includes guacamole and jalapeños (my kind of burger!). It was absolutely delicious, the girl at the register was sweet, upbeat and helpful. My boyfriend hates onions and had requested his burger with none but she suggested that he give them a shot because of the way they were prepared and cooked and thank God she did because he LOVED them. The prices are a bit higher than your typical fast food burger but DEFINITELY worth the money. We spent about 25$ for a meal for two, including fries (for both) and a drink (for him, I had my own water). read more

I can't believe people think this is a good burger. If you consider a small overcooked piece of brown shoe leather a burger then you have come to the right place. They literally "smash" the flavor right out of the burger. It is just plain nasty. Skip completely and go to a diner. Or better yet fire up the grill and make your own. The worst location to ever go to. Having only read a few of the 1 star reviews, I can honestly tell you to never go to this one. Ordered a Spinach Cucumber and Goat Cheese Veggie Burger online..came home with a burger and no BUN...how the hell you mess that one up is beyond me. Then! I go back to get it properly "fixed" and my burger then had none of the spinach or goat cheese...this was suppose to be my dinner and now I'm not eating. read more

This place is not a good representation of Smashburger. The one in East Brunswick is much better. The last 3 times I went here, same problems. It is either too cold or too hot in the dining area. Also, all three times, they have been sending out our order one person at a time. The first person who gets food either has to wait until the last person gets their food and let it get cold, or eat before everybody gets their food. The last 2 times there, they messed up our order altogether. The food was not great here either. You have options, go to the East Brunswick location or even better, go across the highway to 5 Guys which is way better. read more

One of the Better Burger Joints. I usually get the Mushroom burger, Swiss, Fried Egg, Truffle sauce, and Sauteed Onions on an egg bun. Always Delicious. Oh so buttery, while some people think its oil grease. The staff is always extremely polite, and always check on you. TIP: Always keep your previous receipt for a free side! Very professional for a fast food joint, I was going to minus 1 because it is a fast food joint, but decided to keep the star because of their courteous behavior. read more

This location is a joke. I get there to pick up a to go order that should have already been completed, wait over ten mins for the cashier girl who is messing with the order bags to acknowledge me, which she didn't I had to get her attention. After getting her attention she tells me to hold on and 7 mins go past, I'm just thinking like what has customer service come to. I finally decide to just sit down but think this is ridiculous. She hands another guy his order and still isn't ready. There is only two other groups sitting eating in there, not packed at all. Other customers are coming in, I stand up and she finally greets me and tells me my order that should have been done wasn't. I told her cancel the order, walked out and went over to Five Guys across the highway. They were pleasant and just everything right that smashburger was wrong. My husband and I went to the North Brunswick location of Smashburger Saturday evening, Oct. 12, 2013. I was in the mood for a really good burger. The staff seemed inexperienced and more than a few people at tables, including us, were on their feet searching other tables for ketchup, condiments and napkins. The burgers were nothing special, kind of on the dry side - even the sweet potato fries were quite bland. After spending about $23.00 on two burgers, one order of fries, one order of sweet potato fries and two reg. drinks, I expected to be genuinely pleased with the meal. Nope. Even the rest room was an issue. Only one for the whole store that we could find, with a line for it and no soap once you got in there. I don't understand why anyone goes there when there's a Five Guys across the street, which is consistently good. I've heard and read decent things about this chain, so I wanted to try Smashburger. Maybe just this location is bad, but I won't be going to Smashburger again. read more

Had the worst experience here. The place was empty and the employee behind the counter was rude and in a bad mood that customers came in and that she had to do work. They finally opened. Yippee. Just went there with the family. It was awesome. The service was great, the place was clean, and the food delicious. The best thing is they will make a burger (100% beef) without any toppings or bun -- I need this for my daughter who has allergies. I'm gonna give it 3 stars because the food is decent. The grilled chicken sandwich is really good. I like the thin fries too. Just don't go here to eat if you don't have time to wait. They are extremely slow. If your on a lunch break from work your break will be over by the time you get your food... Sometimes before you even order!!!
