Caprese avocado toast with egg
Chris S.

This avocado toast was exactly what I was anticipating. But left me waiting to be wow-ed. I faltered between 3 and 4 stars and would leave a 3.5 if I could. It was fairly quick to order and for the food to arrive which was a plus. The avocado toast was very aesthetic so if you are looking for that gram pic it's a pretty choice. It was a moderately priced avocado toast. Being that it was in the farmers market and a "touristy" spot it made sense but I would have been more content with the price if it had that extra spark

A good day starts with avocado toast! Every time I'm in town I make sure to visit this spot at the Farmer's Market, It's the highlight of my day! Their Avo toast is DELICIOUS and 100% the best one I've ever had. I like to go for the Classic; the egg is cooked to perfection and the mashed avocado has a light, creamy texture. I love the everything bagel seasoning that's sprinkled on top, making this the best breakfast you could ask for on a beautiful weekend! I highly recommend you pay them a visit next weekend and try it yourselves. They offer a nice variety of toasts to choose from such as the: * CLASSIC (avocado, himalayan pink salt, garlic powder, red pepper flakes) * BREAKFAST (avocado, egg, everything bagel seasoning, red pepper flakes) * CAPRESE (avocado, mozzarella, bruschetta sauce, balsamic glaze) * THE GOAT (avocado, microgreens, goat cheese, balsamic glaza great week, everyone! Last but not least, their Matcha is a MUST-TRY, I'm obsessed.

One of the best (if not the best) avocado toast I've ever had! I was lucky enough to try this spot at the La Jolla Art and Wine festival yesterday. I ordered the breakfast avocado toast with scrambled eggs and iced coffee. My food was delicious!! Coffee was also good. Would recommend trying this place for sure

Stumbled upon smashed avocado toast as we were walking back to our car after church yesterday in La Jolla. They were out for the La Jolla art and wine festival. It was perfect we were looking for a quick healthy bite to eat before carrying on with our day. I had the breakfast avocado toast which has a egg white on top and my habana had the classic which has bacon. Both were fresh and delightful! Not to mention only took them 5 minutes to make. I saw one of the gals even slicing up the avos. There probably was a pile of 20 or so fresh cutter avos. You can tell the ingredients are fresh and made to order. You can't go wrong with $9 avocado toast and $7 matcha. Be sure to add the strawberries to the matcha.

I've had better avocado toast and matcha drinks. Wasn't even good enough to finish. Gave me a stomach ache. It was really expensive for what it is $30 for everything. Looks pretty though so maybe that's why everyone thinks it's so good. There's also no places to eat the toast so it's standing area

The Classic

Well done my Brothers! I am a huge fan of Avocado Toast and with that, may I say yours is some of the best I have experienced. For $8, the classic rewards you with a thick artisan lemon toast, freshly smashed avocado, a touch of garlic powder, a sprinkling of Himalayan Pink Salt, and red pepper flakes. The nice gentlemen asked if I wanted some micro greens and was not to decline such a generous offer. I was a bit skeptical regarding the lemon toast, a Brean & Cie product, but it worked! The lemon flavor was subtle, most favored towards the end of each bit and it paired well with the avocado. Great choice! The Himalayan Salt not only seasoned the avocado, but it really helped bring the flavor of the avocado out in front. An important sediment, because the avocado should be the star of the show. The pepper flakes added a slight zest which was nice, and I really appreciated the addition of the micro greens. Service is quite up beat and supper friendly. They offer four distinct avocado toast preparations with add ons and modifications available.

Visiting SD from the Bay Area, and came across this stand at the downtown outdoor market. Had to try the breakfast toast and wife got the Caprese. Both were really good, wish there was something like this in the Bay.

What a cute little vendor at Little Italy Farmer's Market. We weren't really hungry but wanted to get a pic for yelp and insta. They're located towards the top of the market (like if you head towards the dog park). We got The Classic which is avocado spread on top of Bread & Cie's lemon bread. It also has garlic powder, red chili flakes, and sea salt. The nice guy also added some micro greens and balsamic drizzle for us. $7 isn't cheap but it was a nicely presented avocado toast. They cut the toast in half to make it for easy sharing. The bread is a bit thick. I would recommend this place if you're at this farmer's market.

Caprese Avocado Toast

Quite possibly the best avo toast I've yet to taste!! The bread alone is so tasty and the avocados are so fresh! A must! I've loved every toast I've had from Smashed! This time around I got the Caprese toast! So tasty with the balsamic glaze, fresh mozzarella, and juicy tomatoes. The staff was also very friendly! You definitely want to check this stand out at your local farmers market in San Diego!

This avocado toast is next level tasty! Got the breakfast with bacon at Hillcrest farmers market. My buddy got the caprese and we were in agreement this was easily the best avocado toast we have had. Avocados were freshly smashed and seasoning was spot on. The bread was sooo fresh...definitely stopping by again.

I found this booth at the Lane Park Sunday market. Service is very friendly. My avocado toast with goat cheese, bacon, balsamic was fresh and flavorful. I enjoyed it and this is a recommended booth at either the downtown Lane Park market or Little Italy wed market.

I freaking love this market, Sat & Sun only, 10-4…read more What did I want to do for Mother's Day? Lane Field market! Walk along the Embarcadero & get a freeze on a hot day, stop by Chilanga's (the best booth there) & get my huitlacoche on. Live music, shade, delicious vendors, right across from the water. I did have a little detour from Chilanga's - while I was waiting for my spouse to park, I sat at a shady table with a woman who was telling me about the poke truck (Island Mike's) & explaining that her coworker ran it as a side hustle, and that the poke was delicious because he had lived in Hawaii. I agonized a bit - get my Chilanga's huitlacoche huarache - or try the poke? I eventually decided: it's Mother's Day, you can have ALL the things, just like at a buffet! So I went to Island Mike's first. They advertised Broke Da Mouth poke - and I was a little suspicious at first - cuz Island Mike's didn't look like a Hawaii native but a mainlander who spent some time there. BUT... I got my poke "island style" (furikake, sushi rice, and the poke - not lots of distractions like seaweed salad or ginger like in the "mainland style") - and it really was off the hook. Really fresh & delicious and perfectly made. YUM & YUM. $12 for one scoop (the smaller size) & very worth it. Of course I still needed my Chilanga's so then I got the huitlacoche huarache (a vegetarian taste of heaven - shredded lettuce, huitlacoche, Mexican cheese on a huarache (masa dough) & tried the mango passion fruit agua fresca. The huarache is huge and I'd already had the little poke, so I took most of it home to eat later. But it was just as yummy as I remembered. And the agua fresca is amazing. I'll still crave Chilanga's but now I'll crave Island Mike's too. I need to get down here more often because it is a super fun outing that is too good to waste on tourists!

There was live music and aa few food stalls. Good Eatz (filipino/hawaiian fusion) caught my eye mainly because they have a few Ube pastries (mochi, ube bar, etc). I first ordered the ube bar which passed the test so I went back to order the mochi. They also offer lumpia, spam musubi and chicken wing combo plates and pork dumplings.

Go down to Lane Field, walk along the Embarcadero, get Chilanga's for lunch. It's so delicious! I had only got the watermelon agua fresca before because it's so good - but I asked for a taste of the mango-passion fruit and it was amazing. Not goopy, syrupy, but fresh taste of both of them. YUM. Also got my fave, the huitlacoche huarache. Really fresh & yummy, with all the earthiness of the huitlacoche (corn fungus). They normally make it vegan but they gave me cotija cheese on top. I really love this dish! I ended up getting something else when I was at the market too but I'm so glad I still came to Chilanga as planned. And the women here are so nice!

We were initially aiming for the crispy shawarma however only Mira Mesa and La Mesa does it. So I guess that's next on our list! The wraps were unexpectedly big! Not really an ambience since there's not much as far as a dining room. There are a couple of cocktail tables where you could eat. After ordering online at 20:20pm, my estimated pick up time was 8:39pm and got the order at 9:03pm. The cashier informed me their chicken is taking a while and added extra time to the wait. It probably would've been faster if they weren't so backed up. I ordered the Wagyu beef and chicken shawarma plate for me and my wife to share. I added 3 falafels and pita bread on top of it. The food was still fresh when I got home 15 mins later. Everything was good and just enough for us two. Also, I'm not sure why there's a range of where they may be located on Yelp since this is just a food truck that seems to be permanent at this location.
