Horrible and time-consuming to use, then my friends who received invitations couldn't open them to see the details on their iphones! Total waste of time and money. I wish I had checked reviews first instead of following bad advice from some article about "great" sites for making personalized invitations. Lost nearly $50 for eight unreadable invitations. Cannot connect to Smilebox suddenly after a 6 year membership. They have no one to help you and you are at the mercy of communicating with them only online. They are very delayed in their responses to you if they even respond at all. I have repeated many times their directions to fix and to no avail. I have tried to have them troubleshoot the issue via email, but still cannot get it to work. They automatically bill my credit card each year without issue. I rate their customer service as "F". read more

I did smile box for my wedding invitations. It was very easy to do but the only complaint I have is I can't see how many people are coming to the wedding. If they are bringing a guest or not. Just shows the emails. Very disappointed read more

So far I have had no issues with my Smilebox invitation, other than there is no way to delete comments. This seems like a very elementary problem that could be easily fixed. Instead, I had to delete my entire invitation, and resend it out so the comment did not appear. Other than that, I have loved Smilebox! read more

I am not sure how this SCAM Company is still in business after CHEATING people with charging everyone annually without any notification. I think its in business because of people like me not reading about the company upfront before signing up. I learnt a big lesson from SCAMBOX aka SMILEBOX that I should always read the Terms and Condition and reviews. Thought it was my mistake to not read their Refund policy, they DECEIVE you saying its a free trail and its $3.99 monthly until you cancel when you sign up. They will get your credit card and charge you annually after the trail ends. I was shocked to see they charged me annually and emailed their support. They responded saying I chose Annual subscription which was a BIG LIE. When you sign up, they just tell you its $3.99 monthly and won't give any option to choose the subscription. Once your trail ends, they just charge your account the annual amount silently like a THIEF STEALING FROM A HOUSE AT MIDNIGHT. There was no notification or alert or any communication of any sort about the trail period or the amount they charged. This is a company that is out there that just focus on CHEATING PEOPLE and they care damn about customers. And their software, the reason I signed up was because I liked their invite but it don't even have the basic features like, there are no number of ppl for RSVP and you can't even delete your own event. Even $3.99 per month for this software is too much. I read all the BBB complaints and other reviewers mentioned, they have CHEATED so much people and took all the money. KARMA will bite you back SCAMBOX and you will lose all the money you got from SCAMMING PEOPLE. I think the CEO is sleeping without seeing any of these reviews for years. SO people before signing up for SCAMBOX, PLEASE READ reviews and as others mentioned, don't give your Payment information to get scammed. Outdated product, terrible customer service I signed up for an annual subscription just in time to email Christmas cards. What I got was a product that is mobile unresponsive, which they know but don't bother to inform you at the time of purchase. This service is of no use to me if it can't be viewed on smartphones so I complained and requested a full refund of my subscription. After really slow customer service response time (it took them 3 days to respond to my initial complaint) and not addressing my issue, I was informed that my 7-day trial expired before I made my request so they won't refund my subscription. In fact, I made my request 5 business days after I joined and it would have been sooner had they replied earlier. The trial terms do not specify whether the 7 days are business days or calendar days. Their very own customer service page indicates that they "are not open over the weekend or on major holidays, so replies may be delayed outside of the hours listed above." Since Smilebox doesn't offer 24/7 customer service, then they shouldn't count weekends and holidays towards the trial period. What a double standard! 17 calendar days later or 9 business days, however you want to count it, I'm still fighting them to get back my $47.88. Looking at other reviews of Smilebox around the web, I can see they have a reputation for deceptive accounting practices and horrible customer service. Outdated products will now be added to the growing list of complaints against Smilebox. read more

RUN FROM THEM! If I could, I'd give them a minus number. Smilebox charged our credit card $47.88. We had no idea why we were being charged, had not remembered signing up for anything or sending one of their "free" cards so called them for an explanation. Oh! You can't talk to anybody! Their "customer service" answering machine said to email them. We did. Twice. No response. I searched my mailboxes to see if we had had any previous correspondence indicating we had signed up with them for some service or sent one of their cards and lo and behold I found we'd sent a similar email to them LAST YEAR requesting an explanation or refund...the same thing. NO RESPONSE. And, of course, they'd not refunded our money last year, and we have no expectations for this year. I assume they have no intention of responding or dealing with this issue since it's been a whole year and that they assume we busy consumers won't notice that they continue charging us year after year for who knows what. Perhaps we sent a "free card" years ago and have been charged ever since. My credit card company now reports them as a FRAUD. I don't know how someone could review them as providing "great service" because it's impossible to get a person to talk to or a response from them. read more

I am very upset that I was charged for the full membership, when I just signed up for the free trial. There should be a notification that says your free trial is ending so that you don't feel scammed into paying for a membership. This is clearly how you guys make money is by people "forgetting" to cancel, not because your product is actually worth the price. Was charged $50!! Rip off Merchants, take an annual amount from your card when you only wanted a trial, and at worst a month but they take a full years payment! then tell you under their refund policy they dont have a refund policy because they dont offer refunds. Would never recommend them. Took over 5 days to get a response from them. Thankfully my bank as refunded the money and realise they are crooks! NOT EVEN WORTH 1 STAR. I signed up for a 7 day free trial for Smilebox to create a slideshow for Mothers day. I was not pleased with the functionality of the program, so I requested that they cancel my free trail. I contacted them on the 6th day of the free trail to cancel, in order to avoid having to pay the yearly fee of $47.88 The customer service individual then responded to me the next day (day 7; the day the free trial expired) and sent me confusing and convoluted instructions on how to cancel my subscription that did not allow me to actually cancel my subscription. I responded (4) times to the customer service individual telling him his instructions did not work and that he needed to either cancel the subscription on his end or call me to walk me through the process. I never received a response until days after they charged me for the yearly fee. Not only did Smilebox refuse to acknowledge my request to cancel my subscription to avoid having to pay the $47.88 yearly fee, they blatantly provided confusing instructions to ensure that my subscription did not get canceled during the free trail timeline so that they could charge me the yearly fee. They ended up crediting my account days down the road, but they are obviously using unethical tactics to make it very hard for people to cancel their free trials so they can charge the yearly fee of $47.88. read more

I have been using Smilebox for several years - however the last things I created - I was not able to share on Facebook or email to anyone. This has been very, very upsetting. I spent a lot of time creating a slide presentation of my daughters wedding - and I can't do anything with it. I uninstalled and reinstalled the app on my computer - I cannot even get logged in to the area to create anything - it just refreshes to the same page. I cannot access the most recent creations I made - When I go to my account - I see the creations I made in years past - and I can email them - which I have emailed to my email so I will have them - but then I cannot sign out of that area - it just sits there. I have emailed numerous times - when I get a reply - it is the same - problem resolved - be sure you are using same computer, blah, blah, blah so old thing. Any company needs to have a phone number where they can talk to a technical support person to resolve issues - very, very DISAPPOINTED :( read more

the product i received in my trial period from this company was of good quality, and was shipped in an expeditious fashion. but that is where any positive comments about this shameful company come to an abrupt end. smilebox smiles all the way to the bank, as they count on honest, unsuspecting customers trialing their service to forget that they only have seven days to cancel before they are charged a non-refundable $47,88 to have access to smilebox services. i fell prey to this shameful business practice in may 2015. i immediately cancelled my account online because they do not offer any phone contact with their company. now, in may 2016 i was, again, unexpectedly charged another $47.88 by this company. smilebox follows the shameful business practices of many other scam companies, who take advantage of honest, unsuspecting customers in order to scam them out of their hard earned money. i'm sure that the $47.88 is nothing to this dishonest organization, but it is a huge sum of money to most of us, enough money from an unexpected withdrawal to cause overdrafts of checking accounts and cause more unexpected charges that most of us can not afford and also causes other family bills to go unpaid. however, i must admit that they have taught me something i did not even suspect prior to engaging in commerce with them: in the future, i will be sure that any company i do business with has a phone number that a live person answers. with this being my first experience with this type of company, i was unaware that i should check for a phone number. the total of nearly $100.00 in a year is a sum that has hurt my family. i would say that smilebox should be ashamed, but shame is something these type of people do not feel - these type of people live by the statement "caveat emptor"...or "buyer beware"...or, to better put it, "sucker beware". read more
