Customer service is terrible - no way to contact a real person. Website also terrible- it gets frozen, and then you loose what you are working on. Also -- it says you can "save" something you are working on , but what it saves is computer script for whatever you were working on.... does not allow you to recreate your project. read more

Scam artists. I agree completely with all of the other reviews. I was under the impression that I could pay monthly after a free week trial. They charged me immediately for a year, after contacting customer support they sent me through a loop and acted like they were going to resolve it and in the end apologized that I got confused about the price selections. (It was a check box--"1 month fee $3.99 or SAVINGS for a yearly fee of $47.88" I clearly checked $3.99. Total rubbish. It took 2 days to get emails to be accepted, no download capability for csv or excel. Worse still was the recipients experience. No where did it disclose that I would be charged the yearly cost. Unacceptable and very dishonest and shady. I tried downloading what I thought was a free trial and I could not open the graduation card I wanted to use. I contacted customer service immediately and told them I did not plan to use their service ever. I asked that they not charge my credit card. They responded to say I needed to uninstall and reinstall the program. I replied that I did NOT WANT to use Smilebox EVER. Low and behold, I was charged $47.88. Are you kidding me? I should give it a 3 only because I designed my newsletter, thinking it would be user the free trial. I get ALL the way to the end, and it tells me that I've already had a free trial (year or more ago), and that I'd have to pay. I had no other choice since it was my Christmas newsletter and it was done. The better choice, if you don't want to make customers upset, would be to let us know in the beginning if we had already used our free trial. That would be playing nice. When a business has to make their money by hiding the fact that they will bill their customers for a year upfront -- while marketing a free trial and low monthly price, since they know nobody will read the terms and conditions -- that's pretty sad. I had the same experience as everyone else. While they say they do not offer a customer service number -- I looked on my credit card statement and under the details, this number is listed 360-797-5269. I called it and spoke to Steven -- who told me the same thing, but that now I can use the service for a whole year and will not be charged. I have no interest in creating anything that has to do with this shady business and way to breach your customers' trust. I was more alarmed after I went back and read the terms and conditions. False advertising really irritates me. Don't say your service is free and then have no available options unless you pay a monthly fee. And saying that you have a free trial period does not count as a free service! your service is not free. I signed up for the 7 day free trial and they charged my credit card two days after I signed up at a charge of 39.99, I talked to my CC company and thankfully they are going to take the charge off and issue me a new credit card! Smilebox is horrible! This is a cowardly company that robs your money. No customer service number to call and they charge your credit card! I found out that my "free trial" actually costs $5.99 a month. When I discovered this mistake in my debit account, I tried to call customer service for help, but they have NO customer service number. Everything is done by email (probably because they would have a swarm of angry customers calling). Also, they have a NO refund policy, so once they take your money, it's gone!! Great app, easy to use! Sad to see people put down a product when they have never used it. I have, and absolutely would recommend!

No customer service. While creating a video is easy and the end product is decent, it is nearly impossible to save the videos to other mediums (like flash drive) and if you don't have IDVD you can't save to DVD. I unknowingly deleted a file that was stored locally on my computer and the instructions the provide on their website to download and re-save didn't work. There is no phone number to call, and they do not reply to email support questions. Thumbs down overall because of their terrible support and service. read more

I tried canceling membership several times and the organization continued to bill me for several months. I repeatedly contacted them to have it canceled and they ignored my request and never contacted me. I was forced to dispute it with my credit card company and had to cancel my credit card and get a new number issued because of the continued monthly charges. Their customer service is the worst ever. Like others have said, you can only contact them through email, which is ignored. I would not sign up unless you never plan on canceling. If you do, good luck!! read more

AS of today I would have rated Smilebox 5 I loved putting in my pics and creating a show My membership was due on 0410/2017 however, I needed to update my card on file so I did on the 7th, Smilebox took out the funds on 04//07/2017 which was a Friday, I put a support ticket it and told Smilebox that they had taken out the Membership fees for this year before the 10th be sure not to take another out on the 10th. Well guess what? Not only did the money funds they took out on the 7th when Mondday the 10th came Smilebox said we cancelled you for you did not want the money taken out the 10th, but they never even read the words the membership funds was taken out on the 7th, then on Monday the 10th already taken out 2 membership payment for the year, I up in another so called support ticket and told them what happen and I needed it to be corrected. GUESS WHAT SmileBox took out another payment thus making 3 payments almost $150..00 for 1 years membership. Here I am again putting in another support ticket explaining in detail step by step I have not got a answer back. What is going on? Is there a reading problem? They really need a better way on customber support. Now I not only have to fight to get 2 payments back to the bank plus the membership which was cancelled an paid by the one of the three payments. On top of that, they charged my card when I signed up in January, and then again in March! I have been a loyal paying customer of Smilebox since 2013. I have made many fun things and even a few memorials. I have had no problems with billing because I renew each year but I am now DONE with this company and it's really too bad because the programs are fun and there is a lot of variety. Anytime you cannot contact a company directly is a red flag... It started out with my Norton virus protection program I have on my computer. They kept uninstalling Smilebox thinking it was an unsafe site. I was angry with Norton for doing this but now I wonder "Is it true, not a safe site? I kept e mailing Smilebox they kept assuring me they were working on it just hang tight..All my saved creations were gone and I had to re install every time I wanted to use it. Finally the issue seemed to be resolved only to hear from my friends that they are now receiving old smileboxes from me that I made in 2015 I did not send these out. The site obviously got hacked. They refuse to return my e mails or explain why this is happening. I write every day. I am sending a letter cancelling my subscription and I am demanding a refund for the 3 months I wasn't able to use it and for the 7 months I have left. I am actually going to change me Credit Card # as well...How can they get away with this stuff? I am fuming LOL I use this site a lot and I sure hope I can find something similar...
