Absolutely wonderful smoked chicken and salmon! We tried the white meat chicken and everyone loved it - very moist! The dark meat lollipop chicken was very tasty too and love the form factor. I don't usually see smoked salmon at bbq restaurants so very happy to see it on the menu - it was smoky, tasty and moist. New favorite BBQ spot in Henderson! Just tried this new BBQ restaurant and WOW, it's an absolute game changer. My husband said the brisket was melt in your mouth tender and the ribs had the perfect smoky char. Even the sides (get the mac and cheese!) and desserts were so dang good! The staff was friendly, the portions were huge, and you can smell the smoker from the parking lot, in the best way possible. If you love BBQ, put this place at the top of your list. The best brisket sandwich I've ever had!! The perfect balance of flavors and smoke and so tender! Service was excellent and extremely friendly. Restaurant was very clean and the atmosphere was spot on. I came here with my Dad from Toronto who ate the same thing and he's still raving about it. First time visit. Thought price for full rack of ribs was high, but the potion was so big. We took 1/2=meal home, so price was totally justified. So much meat on each bone, cooked perfectly. I did not even add sauce, tastes perfect as is. Sides were kugel and Mac n cheese. Kugel delicious but was more of a dessert, just saying. We ordered ribs with two sides, Mac & Cheese along with french fries. We also ordered wings (sauced). The ribs, Mac & Cheese, and wings were outstanding. The wings had a very mild spice, perfect in my mind. Further, they were substantial with a good amount of meat on them. The ribs had a wonderful smokey (as the restaurant name implies) flavor to them. The only disappointment, and the reason for four stars vs five (wish I could give 4.5 stars), were the fries. We had the pleasure of dining at the new restaurant on Eastern in the Lee's Liquor on Eastern tonight. I have to say it was excellent it really reminded us of our time enjoying Texas bbq! The beef brisket and their side of beans, yum! The sauces available only made the dishes. The staff and owners were so friendly, we felt like home. They have an active to go business as well as their dine in. The smokers run just out front so you know its authentic. Wow! My husband and I came to this restaurant for the first time, on Valentine's Day, not knowing what to expect other than we'd heard the food was good. Um, yeah, it's delicious! We got the meal with four meats and four sides. The Mojo chicken was a highlight but we enjoyed all the meats we ordered... brisket, rib tips, and a sausage. The sides were also delicious, but probably my very favorite thing was the sauce that's served with the marbled corn bread. It was buttery and toffee-ish and I want to eat it on everything! First time visiting this place and it did not disappoint! The St. Louis ribs were meaty and have the right amount of smoke. I also had the hot link which was very tasty. Their house bbq sauce was amazing and compliments the meat perfectly but the bbq tastes good even without the sauce. The staff were very attentive and helped with our selection. We first went here 3 weeks after it opened. It was a total surprise! The friendly owners and staff made us feel like family. The beef brisket, pastrami and chop chop salad were so delicious! The meat was like butter, no need for a knife and the vinaigrette on the salad should be bottled and sold! We have since been back 4 more times and feed our large family a buffet of their meats and sides for a party. They are consistently spot on with the food. The snickers dessert is a must! Ordered pick up- we really wanted to love this place but sadly "no". THE GOOD- The meat was cooked to perfection. Our group had brisket, burnt tips, chicken, ribs and pulled pork in the Cuban sandwich. All perfectly cooked and tender. The crunchy cabbage was delicious and potato salad was ok but not flavorful. Needed salt. The fried apple pie was flaky and delish. THE BAD- the BBQ sauce was different. Tasted on the verge of Korean BBQ- sweet, no tang, no kick. I went for a bottle of sweet baby rays in the fridge the Mac and Cheese was creamy but zero taste. Totally bland. Barely tasted cheese and had to add salt which is rare for me so it's not like my expectations for ANY flavor are too high. Greens had chunks of fat and little meat. It's hard to find great BBQ so what a lucky break that SMKD is not only great, it's only 15 minutes from our house! On our first visit we were on a mission to try most everything and leading the pack was the brisket ... best I have ever had. The burnt ends were a close second and we also loved the hush puppies and cabbage sides. From ordering to getting our food was not a long wait at all. I ordered the 1meat combo with ribs and let me tell you they were very tender and the sauce was so good.
