But the 1 car still needs to be smog checked every 2 years and we've brought it here several times now b/c it's always been treated fairly and squarely here, and with a coupon, it's affordable. Needed my vehicle smogged so I called and was quoted $40 for my make and model. When I walked in they tried to charge $58. Guy was rude and they charge the fee for the smog test whether it passes or not and tack on an extra fee for subsequent tests. My husband took my car in yesterday, as we thought it didn't pass. We were told they would fix it for $80. Now my husband went back today to get it done and they told him it was $80 to test my car(it wasn't to fix it) because what they have told me yesterday wasn't why it failed. So now they're expecting me to pay $80 to retest after I had it tested YESTERDAY? I'm calling the manager as soon as I get the name of the person who help us yesterday and told us it would be $80 to fix plus free retest. I will change my yelp review once this is fixed. If nothing changes and I do not get my money back I will definitely report them to the BBB. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- UPDATE: WASTE OF TIME and MONEY My husband and father in law went in today to talk to them about it. Turned out the man who was there explain it wrong. So just an FYI so you don't get your money robbed (even if it's only $30) tell them you want the SMOG AND the DIAGNOSTICS (if your car doesn't pass). Apparently you have to pay these two separate ($30 + $80) so $110 for them to tell you whats ACTUALLY wrong with your car. In all honestly that's a load of BS. I would have expected them to tell me how much it was to get it SMOGED AND for them to tell me how much it was going to be to let me know what was wrong with it.... since that's what I asked for. Now that's $30 down the drain and time wasted.... I could have gone to another place where it would have costed me at least half the price for ALL that I needed NOT JUST FOR HALF THE WORK. read more

I took my 2004 in for her biennial smog, grabbing a $28.95 (plus $8.25 for certification) coupon from the local pennysaver - they also offer $15 off with the Yelp check-in. I got very lucky on timing, hitting them about 30 minutes after opening on a Saturday morning after a big holiday so absoutely no wait, woohoo! A very simple form fill-out, then about a 15 minute wait while the car is smogged. Their wait room is simple, with about 8 chairs, a Coke machine, and Undercover Boss playing on Netflix on their small but nice wall-mounted flatscreen. Works for me! Car passed, coupon was honored at the price promised, in a very reasonable turnaround time. No complaints! read more

Had my truck smog this morning and I have to say, this place was great! Given that it was the morning, there was only one vehicle ahead of me. The person at the front desk reassure me that it would only take about 40 minutes. This place was accommodated with Netflix that was playing The Blacklist. I tried looking for an inexpensive smog place on yelp and couldn't find anything so I was referred to this place by my friends. In the past i went to a smog shop located down fruit-ridge and it was a rough 60 bucks and the car I brought also didnt pass smog so I had to pay for another test. At this place Smog-In, a smog test was $40 and they also offer a FREE re-test if your car fails smog the first time! Anyway, I got here and the dude took my keys and it took probably 10 minutes and I was out the door already. Very affordable and convenient place for anyone to get their smog done. I suggest coming in on a weekday and early so the wait time isn't long because it took them about 20 min to smog my 2000 Honda Civic. Check in with Yelp and receive $15 off the price of the smog. For most cars after the $15 off the total is $40. While you wait for your car to finish, they have a television to keep you entertained. Most of the times they have Netflix running and this previous visit they played Chopped. Smog in is also a STAR certified smog check station so that's a plus. read more

Best deal in town. One smog place quote me for $ 63.83 and won't let me fix my vehicle at another shop. I have to do the repair at his shop or else pay for another smog check when I come back. Plus waiting time is 1.5 hours. Smog In policy is different. Smog failed pay $36.00 first and come back within 30 days for a retest and pay the rest to complete the job. My 2000 honda needed a new catalytic converter to pass smog. Three different places quoted me between 900 to 1200 for parts and labor. Each required time for the parts to be delivered (2 to 3 days). Smog In was able to do it for a total of 554 dollars including a smog check. They were able to get the part the very next day and install it. They had great communicstion; they called to inform me when the part was delivered and the progress of the repair/installment. It took them 2 days and less than half the price the other people were offering to complete it. When I was there, I didn't feel like they were trying to con me like the other shops. They have great customer service, delivers quality work, are efficient, and fairly price their service and parts. I would definitely go back to do business with them. read more
