They were fast, but when my car failed, the man at the front was very condescending. It is not their place to judge me for how I maintain my car--simply tell me what I need to do instead of lecturing me or giving me attitude. It ended up being a simple fix and the shop where I took it smogged it for me, so I ended up not using my free recheck. Totally worth it to not have to deal with this man again. Given there is another smog check place literally one block away and more in the area, they should seriously work on their customer service. read more

This place is really great. When my car didn't pass the smog test, they told me what was wrong and what part I needed to get for it to.pass. I got the part and went back and it passed. They give you a second try if you don't pass the first time. The store is really super clean and cool and you are in and out in 15 minutes. The worker behind the desk was very professional and kind... with that being said, I called ahead 15min prior to see how long it would take because I would be coming in on my lunch.. I was told 20-30min... not a big deal.. filled out my paperwork and again was told 20min... 30min later a customer I did not know got her paper and said to me "wow you've been here long time". I few moments later I was told that I am next and when I asked how much longer it would take, I was told 20-30min... I had to go back to work. The service was great. I did not pass smog but the worker told me exactly what was wrong and even pointed out were was problem underneath the engine. after getting the part fix under 30mins, i went back and passed. Both first and second service only took 10mins. It was also cheap with the pennysaver coupon and the re-test price. Highly modified Turbo Jeep TJ. Went to a few places and they wouldn't touch it. Talked down to me and acted like I was a criminal or trying to test them. It's all a banks setup, high dollar for cali compliant. Stopped at smog tech pros and they were professional and went over jeep with a fine tooth comb, found a couple discrepancies and talked to me like the highly trained professionals they are and explained the issue. Failed me I added component I didn't realize I needed and they passed me since I was in complaints. Thanks! read more

STOP, pre 95 think twice before going here, two years ago i went to smog pros assuming my car would fail, it passed, the tech said my timing was off, but it still passed, made the biggest mistake by going back, the tech that tested my car was pretty rude, so dont try to start a conversation. so this round my car passes the test, but failed me because my timing was off. ironic right. this place charges you regardless. so the 30 day free retest begins. the next saturday i go back, for them to tell me they were understaffed and wouldnt be able to do any pre 95, so i take another saturday and go back to have the rudest tech on earth tell me he cant pass my car because a vacuum t at the canister was melted, knowing now he has no idea about cars, i wasnt going to argue, so i went home and cleaned the undercoating off, cleaned the engine bay and fixed anything i thought they may have a issue with, and went back a fourth time, again im told they wouldnt be able to take any pre 95 because their machine was down, but after i told him i knew someone that worked for BAR and would just talk to him about it, they were able to get me right in, after they tested it i could hear my car revving at aver 2k, the guy was jujst burning my clutch up pulling it out, i said something in the waiting room and another customer heard it too. i will still be speaking with BAR over this and filing a complaint. best to stay away from here all together read more

I don't use my real last name on social media. I had used you guys before and didn't have a problem. He failed me because my computer wasn't ready to test because I had disconnected the battery to work on it prior and didn't drive it enough. Then he told me he would fail my retest for not having an under hood sticker. Why test me in the first place if he thought he couldn't pass for not having a sticker. BAR did contact you and told you to refund my money or I would go through with my complaint. You were out of the country when this happened. read more

Smog Tech NO! I saw all these reviews but definitely not my experience! Maybe if you have a newer vehicle but not an older model! If it isn't quick and easy then good luck getting them to exert themselves to help you. Same headers on vehicle the last two times it was smogged with no problem. So now there is an issue because you can't see the serial numbers and are asking for records from 20+ years ago? Took my money fast enough though! read more

My beef. Why do they charge more for light trucks than cars? I use to do smogs. They are easier than a car and take same amount of time or less to do a light truck., tacoma, ranger, etc. What a scam. Heavy trucks, suvs, vans etc can require more work and I can understand charging more.. Unfortunately, this shop is not alone and most other shops engage in this bull. . I also concur with Greg M about requiring the coupon. He obviously knew about the discounted coupon- It should not require pulling teeth to get satisfactory customer service. I wouldn't let someone else use my computer either, but how about a little effort and courtesy. Greg will never go back or refer anyone. How much future business was lost to granting a $10 discount? Not only lost $40? but all future business and referrals.. Stupid! Problem is, we all ask for this kind of service when we accept it. Quality tune makes the distinction between heavy and light trucks. The rest of the industry should do the same. Most other shops also will accept competitors coupons. read more
