Tried for the first time. The meats: pork ribs were out of this world - amazing flavor and so moist. Brisket - wonderfully seasoned and nice and soft. After reading the reviews and looking for something other than seafood for lunch. My family (wife and son) and I chose Smoke and Fire BBQ. It was a definite winner. We had the 4 meat platter with 2 sides and ordered and extra side. We chose the ribs twice (only 2 ribs per rib order), pulled pork and brisket. We also split a beef cheek taco. Our sides were: Mac and cheese, potato salad, and Bourbon beans. The ribs and the pulled pork were delicious. So tender. The pulled pork was the winner of the trio. The brisket unfortunately was dry. Still eatable but dry. The beef cheek taco was phenomenal. The chef came out with the taco and walked us through the preparation of cooking it to putting it all together. Melt in your mouth deliciousness. The sides were alright. The Mac and cheese was good. The potato salad IMO had too much vinegar but that's a personal opinion. The beans were just alright. I can't put a finger on it but it was just alright. The staff was so friendly and attentive. The restaurant was very clean. They even have a corn hole setup outside for you to use. I come to Sarasota every few months and will stop by again. Just a note. Smoke and fire BBQ is open only on weekends, starting Friday afternoon through Sunday. We stopped here on the way into town and the food was FANTASTIC!!!!!!! We will definitely be back and are telling everyone we know about their delicious pulled pork sandwich and bread pudding. I'm skeptical about BBQ, but was pleasantly surprised here! We ordered a meat platter to go and the staff were exceptionally nice. The place is very clean (no cigar smoke concerns from next door) they have a nice inside eating area and they have a cute covered porch area. We had the ribs and pulled pork. The ribs had great flavor and were very tender, not fatty and no fake smoke sauce. The pulled pork was excellent. The corn bread was delicious!! We all loved it. Great job Smoke & Fire! read more

BEST BBQ EVER!! The pork chops were so juicy and tasty.......phenomenal. We also order the pulled pork and it was delicious ( it was the perfect balance of smoky and spicy)! Second time here, was sitting down at our table inside and saw a cockroach. Told an employee on the side to not bring attention to it since I really enjoyed this place. As I was leaving, told the executive chef the same thing as I would want to know if I were in his shoes. His response was "welcome to Florida". I don't know about anyone else, but I've lived in FL for five years and haven't seen a cockroach in a restaurant yet. read more

Without question, this is the best BBQ in Sarasota and beyond. Orders are placed at the counter and they do have take-out. The Brisket (available on Saturday and Sunday only) is fantastic. Pulled pork and their spare ribs are wonderful. Nothing even needs to have BBQ sauce on it because the meats are so flavorful. This is a family owned business that is only open on Friday evening until 8:00 p.m., on Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and on Sunday from 11:00 a.m. until they run out of everything. They have indoor and outdoor seating available. They can get very busy for a very good reason! read more

I went there to try the bbq. Because it is so popular they were sold out of ribs and they only serve brisket on sat and sun. So instead they offered what turned out to be one of the best tasting filet's I've had in a very very long time. The smokiness ; incredible. Pair that with their amazing baked beans and the addicting Mac and cheese, a corn bread muffin that I could have with every meal for the rest of my life, some fresh zingy onions. Also a little side of butter that must have been mined from a different planet in a galaxy far far away, the corn muffin didn't need a thing but this just amplified it so much. Everything was incredible. 11/10. The food is 10/10 and the extra point is for the owner and staff that were friendly and helpful and incredible. Loved it. read more

I really wanted to love this restaurant. I was thrilled to have a place that serves Texas-style dinosaur ribs. We got there before 5:00 on a Friday night and peope were already in line. We got our orders to go. I will say that the portions are huge and the staff is warm and friendly. We both violently hated the beans. I don't know what herb or something else is in there. We both disliked that potato salad. I don't know if it is supposed to be a classic Southern style potato salad. Maybe it's my personal preference not to have eggs in potato salad. The coleslaw is decent and the collard greens are excellent. The two barbecue sauces are very good. Now about the dino ribs. On Friday night I thought ther meat was so-so. Actually I liked it better the next day. We do plan to go back and try the ribs, chicken, and brisket. I will just heat up Bush's beans in a can and make my own potato salad if that's what I'm in the mood for. I noted that the operation seemed loaded to capacity and this was mid-July. I hope they think about their procedures for when the snowbirds are back. No way will the current process support the bigger crowds. I wish this restaurant all the best. read more

Drove by this afternoon on our way home and saw the open sign (we've been checking for a while now but now know they're only open on Friday, Saturday and Sunday). What a find! Absolutely delicious authentic barbeque. We tried the brisket (almost gone at 5:00 pm) and the ribs. Fabulous flavors and melt in your mouth goodness. The sides were yummy too. Mac and cheese linder and 12 hour bourbon baked beans. The waitress, Sue, was very knowledgeable about the food in addition to being sweet and helpful. This place was catered to my job for lunch. It really should be 4 stars for the review but the pulled sandwiches were so good. The only knock and I'm giving a pass is the beans were not cooked all the way they were still kind of hard but the sauce they are in with the bacon was so flavorful it has to be a mishap. Coleslaw was good flavorful but not over powering, potato salad was good flavor potato chunks were on the bigger side. I'm assuming it was there version of Mac n chz not exactly traditional but it was nice twist to a classic. But the pulled pork sandwiches with there sauce was Amazing. Definitely going on my own time. Note this was catered lunch off site so this place is probably way better on site. read more

I have been more than once. Every meal so far (pulled chicken, ribs, and two Friday night specials one of a fat tender pork chop and a brisket burger) were all delicious. Truly Sarasota's newest hotspot! Everything we tried was packed with flavor (Brisket taco, Cuban pork taco, and Mother clucker taco) all cooked to perfection. They also have a great selection on tap.
