One could argue the name of Rego Park Smokehouse should be named Smoke House Fish Appetizers for two reasons: The first is that is what their eight foot sign reads and add in the fact that there is a picture of a fish on that signage to boot. Once inside your options all revolve around smoked fish options, no beef, pork, chicken here. To find the place one may have some Native American blood flowing through them. You may not be seeking tracks or broken branches to scout this building out, but having some scout in your game definitely helped me. The smoked white fish is a personal favorite, so I get the half pound size at a minumum and parse some out to friends when I buy more. The smoked Chubbs, although very life like in look, sold complete with head, eyes and tail is another classic on their menu of offerings. Open at odd hours, I advise to call first and once inside the mideval dungen like doors, ring the bell as many times as you must until someone appears. Rego Park Smokehouse apparently has a wholesale side that they derive the bulf of their business from. You never have to concern yourself with a line, so shopping there is always a pleasure.

This is definitely a local gem. I've been living in Middle Village for about 13 years and only learned about this place 6 years ago. It's a very tiny spot, and the business hours are a bit unconventional, but the super friendly lady running the show seems really nice and helpful. The lox is just out of this world. You will see this lovely lady slice it in front of you and when you take it home, the packaging will sink in with oil... Once you finally have a taste it melts in your mouth just like butter. I love lox and sandwiches or bagels with cream cheese mixed with it. You will never have a better sandwich without this lox! I also recommend the white fish salad, this is sold in containers in the fridge. The lady running this place also creates party platters and dishes for holidays or parties. Even with the crazy hours give her a chance and I guarantee you will not be disappointed. This place hands down have the best lox I have ever had in my life and always go back for more! Pictures added are my creations with the lox. If you have a great cream cheese to add to your lox sandwich you will fall in love with the taste. I'm telling you give this lox a chance and make your dream sandwich. It will blow your mind!!!

I would gave them a 2 star for yesterday's experience. First, the place was empty on a Friday night at 10:00pm. Probably have 3 takeout order while we were sitting down. The first time I went was on a weekday night back in December, and there were more patrons. Not sure if the place is going down hill, but they dont have slushies anymore. We had the mango slushies the first time, and the only drinks available was whatever bottle drinks they have in the fridge. Mind you, they dont serve you water, so you have to get drinks since the food is garlicky or spicy. We wound up getting the milk tea ice rice this time. It was ok. I never tried it, but the rice is a bit hard. I won't order again. Best dish is large eggplant. Very flavorable, maybe a bit too garlicky. Will order this again. Also, the chicken wing is huge, for the price of $3 each. Thats why we ordered 2 chicken wing this time. But, I think it wasnt grilled as nice as my first time. Still good since it is a lot of meat for the price of $3. Lotus root is also pretty good, glazed with sugar. The worst i would say is the lamb, a bit too chewy, lack of flavor. The bathroom has all sorts of postcard of famous album. I found that pretty neat. Lastly, I think the squid tentacles is much smaller than before.

It was so cold out the night I went so I was very happy they kept it nice and warm inside the restaurant. There's a very large selection of skewers, they have basically everything you could want. I especially appreciate that you can order just one of any skewer, unlike some other places where certain types only come in orders of 3 etc, allowing you to order a large variety even if you're dining alone. The seasoning was delicious, and every skewer was not coated in identical seasoning. None of it was spicy at all if that's what you're looking for, but none were lacking in flavor. The meat was juicy and you could taste the smoke from the grill. I loved the different textures of vegetables which were all well cooked. I'm still thinking about the crunchy exterior of the rice cake. I think my favorite skewer was the lotus root, which was perfecting complimented by the seasoning mix. An amazing meal! 16 skewers came out to less than $50. I look forward to returning!

Service (5/5): This is a self-cook, manning your own meat establishment. The food comes out prepared on trays at fairly quick speed. Burners worked well and were changed out when burned. The burner seemed small but we were able to cook fast enough to keep everyone happy. Food (4/5): For 6 of us (4F & 2M), we ordered just the right amount of food: Meat Lover's Stair Combo, Beef combo, veggie platter, 2 rice. I'd say that all of the meat was super tender but nothing stood out too much. None of the meat was marinated except for 1 meat in the stair combo that turned out to be everyone's favorite. For all that food it was about $40/pp. A free small cup of Hershey's vanilla ice cream at the end of the meal. Overall, had a great time and good food!

You come in and seat yourself, and honestly, the TVs are everywhere, so don't worry too much about not getting a good table. You'll be able to watch your game from anywhere. The actual food was great-the brisket was beautifully seasoned and very tender. We were honestly so addicted to it. The wings, especially the dry rubs, were honestly perfectly done-they had a nice char and smokiness, but the flavors were strong. All the sides paired perfectly with the different meats, and THAT CORNBREAD??? Man, I could eat a hundred of those. I think my favorite sides were the greens and the mac n cheese, super comforting. Also, the pitchers they had were honestly great and perfect for big crowds. I would 1000% recommend this kind of sports bar for bigger groups of friends. There has to be a better way to organize this. All that aside, Pig Beach is where you want to come when you're craving BBQ on a nice day. The venue is mostly outdoors with a few indoor tables and two bars. Drinks here are well priced and the specials are even better - I paid $5 for a tequila spritz last time I was here. The meat here is really tender and the sides absolutely slap. Even if you're coming here with a vegetarian there are solid options - the mac and cheese and cole slaw are my favorites. Also I never thought I'd be okay with paying $7 for pickles but the half sours here absolutely slap. Last time I went here I had the ribs which were huge and tender, and the jalapeno cheddar sausage that I def didn't need but it was so, so good. If you're coming here to watch a popular game, get here early to snag a spot.

(I was overwhelmed at first and ordered a plain quarter chicken (dark meat) & 3-rib plate. The cashier was nice enough to recommend the #8 combo (1/4 Chicken, 3 Ribs) instead.) The cut of ribs were good but slightly dry. Was recommended the beans (good) with white rice (dry) by the cashier. Dark meat was the best. First bites of the white meat & ribs were dry, but got better towards the middle. The green sauce was watery and didn't have much flavor. Not sure why everyone raves about green sauce. Was expecting Mama's Empanadas level, but this was 1/4 of that flavor. The Cantonese-speaking cashier was so nice & chill! Communication was easy (English, Cantonese, or Spanish) & they had a steady flow of customers, of all backgrounds. I would get the food to go, the dining area is one long, narrow room and for whatever reason the floor was very wet. I guess it's good that they mopped at 4 PM? There were a few guys that were either workers or hanging out at the far back tables, one or two middle-age couples dining in. It was just kind of a sad ambience. The cashier recommended the Lomo Saltado next time. Maybe I went at a slow time, 4 PM Friday. First bite of food at home was decent, but nothing overwhelming. I would stick to all dark meat! Reheat the pink beans at home. Glad that they usually get their workers two weeks vacation (as per a sign in 2022) - shows that business is good! *Didn't realize they're connected to Caravan Chicken in Astoria.
