Chocolate layer cake with ice cream excellent

The service is ok staff if friendly we got seated order our food the waitress wrote down our order it was pretty empty. We took part in the $5 drinks. It was pretty empty when we got there. When we got our food items were missing and or some of the people in the table got their food well done when they asked for medium. Portions were very small. We ordered the pull pork Sammy with Mac & cheese, the 1/2 rack ribs with sweet potatoes and garlic bread, the surf and turf shrimp with garlic bread steak & corn, loaded fries and the stake with loaded mash potatoes and corn. The loaded fries were more like peco de gallo style on French fries and shred mix cheese throw on top and bbq sauce they weren't good, pull pork was so dry my goodness. The steak was well done when we asked for medium. The ribs & sweet potatoes were good load potatoes were good. The best part honestly was the desserts they were all delicious bananas pudding, brownies with ice cream excellent, and the chocolate layer cake with ice cream all delicious. Waitress was kind friendly loved her energy, but the food was not the best, pretty pricey for the small portions and not so flavorful. I had to edit to add since 2 of my friends who went with us reported having diarrhea today (the following day after eating here) & the bathrooms were not clean tissue everywhere and 1 stall having toilet paper.

Service is whack! I placed an order online for a cup of chili and a chicken salad. Went to pick it up and the I guess the greeter was too busy doing nothing to be bothered. I told her my name, she gave me my order and something told me to look in the bag before I left. The food was just kind of thrown in there, so absolutely no quality check whatsoever. The takeout had no napkins, had no fork in there for the actual salad, was missing some of the toppings for the chili, and so I had to ask for everything and the more I looked in the bag, the more issues I found. In any event, I've been at this place before and I've actually stayed in for service and now I've had there takeout service so can't figure out which one is better or worse.

Had a great time with sixteen people and our waitress Ariel was great. Next time maybe 25 people Thanks Ariel

My friends and I came in for an early dinner. We were seated right away and Glenn came over and introduced himself and took our drinks order. Glenn was so friendly and made recommendations. This was my first time at a Smokey Bones and I was intrigued by the happy hour drinks. I got a margarita that was delicious. My friends and I each got a green tea shot which Glenn made sure they doubled which was huge. We shared fried pickles which came out quickly and were hot and delicious. I was intrigued by the extended lunch menu but decided to get a burger. All of our food came out quickly and Glenn made sure we had everything we needed. I would definitely come back and try other things and get another margarita. It was also clean and quiet.

I'm always ready to try a new chain restaurant so when I seen that this place had opened up off of the LIE , I said let's give it to go. Ribs fall off the bone with a nice BBQ sauce. Great for family gatherings , friends night or dates . Loved the Bag of Donuts dessert too - enough for 2 people. Nice beer selection !

Here's the Scoop! Came today to celebrate our Grandson who's now 17. It's amazing how quickly he became a teenager. Our waiter Chris was excellent! He was friendly, quick service and had a sense of humor. Our lunch came hot and delicious. Eventhough my husband's steak order was plated wrongly Chris corrected it in no time. I enjoy coming to a restaurant where the service is great along with the food. The booths are roomy and the sweet tea with the cane is awesome! The lighting is comfortable. The menu is chock full of tasty goodies like the appetizers BBq Mag Nachos and brisket Chili. The hostess also was welcoming coming in and as when we left. Looking forward to coming again. When you come ask for Chris.

After spending the day around the area and finding great places in Ronkonkoma, we needed food. Outside the hotel we spotted "Smokey Bones" within walking distance of the hotel. At first glance, the building looks modern and inviting. Inside, the place was large and spacious. It was packed with people watching sports and the staff was up to the task. We went over to the bar and the bartender came over. He was very polite and helpful. He took our orders and got them to use pretty quickly. I must say, the cornbread was incredible. We also got wings for the table and we finished them before I could snap a picture. Trust me when I tell you, they were good. They offered blue cheese so that's a plus. At the end, the bill was a bit pricey, but it was worth it. Durning the football season I'm sure I will go back. I mean, I need to test their burgers.

The portions were generous and the restaurant was nice and clean. This is a takeout establishment and there is parking. I'm looking forward to digging into my meal, which will be enough for lunch and dinner... UPDATE, the food is absolutely delicious. This place definitely lives up to the hype. It puts all other barbecue spots to shame. The chicken is so juicy and flavorful even without the barbecue sauce. The garlic mash is well-made and seasoned properly and the mac & cheese is gooey and creamy. I will definitely refer my family members to this place in the future.

I've eaten barbecue all over the country--from New York to Texas, including Austin and Houston--and I never expected some of the best BBQ I'd ever have to be right here in West Babylon on Long Island. Everything is smoked fresh twice a day: once for the lunch crowd and again for dinner. You can absolutely taste the difference. The ribs, pulled pork, and chicken are unbelievably tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor. The meat practically falls off the bone, with just the right amount of fat to keep every bite moist and flavorful. I also recommend the mashed potatos with beans on top, and the chili mac & cheese. Get the BBQ trifecta like I did and I promise you'll be glad you did. The cornbread deserves its own mention. It's incredibly moist and delicious. My favorite way to eat it is lightly toasted until it's golden brown with a generous spread of creamy butter, but it's fantastic straight out of the bag too. The BBQ sauce ties everything together perfectly. It has a rich, smoky flavor with just the right balance of sweetness and tang. It's so good that you'll find yourself putting it on everything without overpowering the meat itself. What really sets Bitterman's apart, though, is the value and the hospitality. Joe clearly takes pride in what he serves, and it shows in every tray that comes out of the kitchen. He is such a nice guy too! The portions are enormous (there was enough for tonight and tomorrows dinner with my wife), the quality is consistently outstanding, and you leave feeling like you got far more than you paid for (you can't say that about many other restaurants these days). If you're looking for authentic, top-quality barbecue on Long Island, stop searching. Bitterman's has earned a lifelong customer, and I'll gladly make the drive back again and again. Five stars without hesitation. Stop by and tell them Jason sent you!

My wife and son were super excited to try barbecue at this famous local spot, but we definitely caught them on an off night. Reviews are mostly good for this place, so I guess timing and circumstances are at play. My wife ordered the peach cocktail and they were out. I ordered the RIBS, they were out !!! They didn't have the sausage for the combination platter and came out a couple of minutes later saying they had it (most likely just seared because the smoke was not there when we were eating). They were out of Brussel sprouts. They were out of MUSTARD !! I ordered a house pilsner they were out and I ordered another beer. Need i say more? On a good note they can barbecue. The brisket was very good. Great smoke ring and true winner. The pulled pork and chicken both had good smoke. Chicken was a bit on the dry side, but it was still good. Baked beans were good. My wife absolutely loved the cole slaw. Waitress was very good. Polite, apologetic and serviced us very well. Atmosphere/Appearance: Set right on South Street with its own private parking lot is this gem. What looks like a seemingly medium-sized house on the side of the street is this unique spot. Out back there are several smokers that are fed with wood on a regular basis. Once inside you'll see the rustic concept. Lots of wood everywhere and a pretty open concept. Directly in front of you is the circular bar and off to the left is the main dining room. The lighting is warm and inviting as well. Service: The whole staff really took care of us since we were a pretty big party. We had no issues whatsoever. Food: So I got to try A LOT of things here. I started off with the Just Peachy which is Crowne Royal Peach served with a whiskey-soaked peach and some sweet tea. It was deliciously well-balanced and simple with only 3 major ingredients. Next up was the Homestyle Honey Cornbread. This was very good, soft and simple, I do wish the butter was warmer though so that it was easier to spread. Next up was the Honey Sriracha Glazed Pork Belly. It was so soft, so tender, savory and flavorful. I loved the bit of char from the "skin" and the sweet/spiciness was a great addition. Next up was the Smokey Mac & Cheese that comes served in a super hot skillet and it was SUPER CHEESY, yet very thick as well. This was so delicious, peppery, a bit sharp, but I really enjoyed it. Next up were the Buffalo Cauliflower Wings which are an excellent menu choice for those that don't eat meat. They're served over a blue cheese coleslaw and this was an awesome idea! I was very impressed because coleslaw is usually made with mayonnaise, using bleu cheese was brilliant. The "wings" themselves were crispy and flavorful. Next up was the Farmboys Old Fashioned which is a twist on the original classic. In it is Basil Hayden Toast Premium Bourbon and other secret ingredients. This was delicious as well and was just a hint too sweet to me. Next up were the Super Sloppy Nachos. These are a concoction of melted cheddar, homemade cheese sauce, baked beans, ranch, BBQ sauce, scallions, jalapenos and pulled pork. You can get chicken instead if you wish. These were delicious and very straightfroward, but pretty heavy. I actually really liked the fresh jalapenos that provided a bit of a crunch along with the chips. Very good. Next up were the Brussels Sprouts which are served with crispy pork belly and hot honey sauce. I mean, I guess these aren't healthy as they once were anymore. Lol. These were straight though. I liked how they were cooked and the other flavors involved drowned out the actual Brussels flavor. Second to last was the beef brisket. It was amazing and was so incredibly tender. Just simply amazing. I don't have anything else to say. Lastly, the smoked wings. These were super tender and they still had a crispy skin! The smokey flavor was excellent and there were hints of Cajun, maybe creole in it as well. I loved these so much. Value: Barbecue is usually on a bit of the pricey side, but that's just the way it goes. The food usually takes a lot longer and time is money. That's about it. This place wasn't crazy though and the portions are big so you definitely get your money's worth. In conclusion, I really, really liked this place and just wish it were closer to me so that I could visit more often. However, if you're on that side of the state or not, make your way there to check them out!

This week's excursion brought us to Struggletown BBQ in Mount Sinai, NY. From what I learned, what started as a food truck morphed into a brick-and-mortar business that has obviously hit its stride. This place is awesome! On the table this time was a "Big John Sampler", a 1/4# platter of brisket, pulled pork, chicken, and ribs, as well as a side of chicken wings in an Alabama White Sauce and corn bread. Absolute winners all around. My first real introduction to corn bread was from Paul Prudhomme's cookbook "Louisiana Kitchen," where I learned to make, and love, a traditional southern corn bread (moist, flaky, and somewhat sweet). Of all the places that I've been to, in my humble opinion, this place has the best outside K-Paul's. There is a reason that it's one of the most requested items from the restaurant. It was excellent! Why am I making a fuss about cornbread? Because it's the details that make a restaurant great. Next came the chicken wings in Alabama White Sauce. I'm now a convert. Sure, I've had it a few times, but this version was eye-opening! Perfectly smoked, then fried chicken wings slathered in this red-sauce alternative was an epiphany for me. I don't think I'll ever look at the humble chicken wing the same way again. I am spoiled for life! Goodbye Buffalo, hello Decatur (where the sauce reputedly originated). Yeah, that good and worth traveling for. The meats? What you want from a BBQ joint. The brisket, pulled pork, and chicken were all juicy and smoked to perfection; the ribs had a smoke ring that made me jealous of their skill set (I'll get there one day). Have I said "awesome? yet? Plenty of parking, all cards, and they cater! This is one of those places that you'll want to day trip to if you're jonesing for some smoky greatness. You cannot order an entree with two sides included for "x" amount of money. This is not the norm and not very customer friendly. Here's the good and the bad. We'll do good first..............I loved their cornbread. Lots of BBQ joints do not know how to make good cornbread and even seem to consider it an after thought. Big Mistake. I liked the Mac and cheese. M & C is very personal. If you ask 10 people how it should be made you may get 10 different opinions. I like mine a little creamier but this was good, nice and thick and tasted great. The only way you can get burnt ends is to get them in a beans and burnt ends dish. The beans were good but the burnt ends they put in the dish were tough and dry. After chewing and chewing some of the pieces I spit them out. I love collard greens. Collard greens are one of the reasons I go to BBQ joints. Here it comes......they cook the greens with something (hot sauce maybe?) to make them burn your mouth hot and spicy. Why would you ruin collard greens by making them so hot that you don't even taste the greens? They went into the trash. I hate hot and spicy. I've never been to a restaurant that did that. Really annoying. This place is not cheap, so don't expect "typical" BBQ restaurant prices. But it's in an upscale Westchester neighborhood so I suppose they charge what people are willing to pay. More power to them. Keeping a restaurant running is expensive and exhausting. I might return sometime and try their chicken. I'll have some more cornbread and M & C and try another side dish. I'll skip the collard greens. My order came quickly and the man taking my order was friendly and nice.
