Smokey Bones is a chain, but one I hadn't heard of before coming here since the closest one to home is about 50 miles away. The menu had a wide range of BBQ choices, and their online info for allergies and dietary restrictions was really detailed. Our server was great, very friendly, and we appreciated that they could answer our questions about the menu and confirmed everything with the kitchen for our allergies. I did a create your own combo with chicken breast and smoked sausage which came with sides (chose fire-roasted corn and BBQ baked beans) and garlic bread. I'm not really a ribs person, but I did try some of the ribs my husband and kid got, as well as the fries and potato wedges. Everything was good. I think next time, I'd get the combo again but this time with potato wedges instead of the corn. I was just starting the carnivore diet, and Smokey Bones became my unofficial meal prep service since I was stopping by daily for my meat fix. Chicken, beef, pork didn't matter. It was all solid. Juicy, smoky, and cooked right every time. The staff caught on quick and greeted me like a regular before week's end. Friendly, fast, and never judged me for skipping the sides. I had ordered the full rack of ribs since that is pretty much the only bbq entree available other than the sampler, because the menu was revised they offer very few options. This is the midway point between my son's house and ours so we usually meet up here. Drinks are always great. BlackBerry lemonade was bourbon lush but could have used some more blackberry flavor -maybe muddling them? Salads are always served chilled and their dressings are delish. The service at Smokey bones is always good and it's consistent no matter where you go in the country. That's one thing I do enjoy about them. Also, the consistency extends itself over into the food and the timeliness of getting it out to the customers as well. The ambience was not as lively as other, smoky bones restaurants that I've been to. This was more like a steak house vibe. It was slightly darker than what I've seen across the country. I have no issues with the restaurant. It was great. But there were a couple of problems with the wings that my son had. One of the wings had blood in it and then they took them back and gave him new wings and again there was another wing that wasn't cooked all the way through. But only seemed to be just be one wing in the batch, but he only got six wings so that was a little disheartening. I also had wings and there was no problem with my wings except for I asked them to cook them crispy and they were not crispy, but that's not something I'm sending my food back for. The potato wedges were hard but we left them as is and just know to not order the next time. They did take my son's meal off the check which I told them they did not have to, but the manager came over and did speak to us and happily obliged to do so. Another couple points is that we got dessert which came out fine but my chocolate cake came with ice cream although I didn't ask for it. So I didn't really care for that much but I end up eating ice cream more so then I did the cake because the cake was cold. The bathrooms were clean and tidy, and they didn't smell so that was also good. I would go back because I like the Smokey bones brand. Took my Wife and Son there tonight in Warwick, RI. Looking at the menu, figuring that Mixed Grill for three, was to be enough for the three of us. I was right, there is enough food seeing it is $69.99, with no sides. The service was ok, when we first walked in, there was no one to greet us at the front desk. We had to wait until they figured out we were there. Upon receiving the food, it was billowing with smoke, making the three of us choke when trying to breathe. The food was over cooked and very dry. The sliced chicken was not only dry but flavorless as well. The supposed Sirloin, was very well done and tough as a Combat Boot. Over cooked and dry as dust. Nope, wont be back...... Shit Show at Smoky Bones Warwick RI. Food went totally down hill. Stay away, major cutbacks underway. Ordered the same turkey BLT yesterday as I always have. It used to be a great sandwich made with fresh, carved, smoked turkey breast. I get my sandwich, which looks like something from the school cafeteria, and find it's made with a pile of what appears to be slimy Oscar Meyer processed mixed meat "Turkey" cold cuts. To add, they now have processed orange cheese slices on it. The same kind you get at McDonalds. I don't remember this sandwich having cheese. We also got boneless chicken wings which I know are those Tyson frozen nuggets you get in the bag at supermarket. These used to be actual tenders before. This was on the weekend, at a time when there should be a wait at the door yet the restaurant was at maybe 10% capacity. I should have known something was up. So here we have a chain restaurant that was actually decent now being ruined by greedy corporate decisions. From the way things look I give this location until end of May at best. My wife and I came in on a Monday around 5 p.m. After we were seated, we had to wait a little while before being served, but our server was very apologetic and explained there was a mix-up with the section. After taking our drink order, she quickly got our food order, and we actually received our food surprisingly fast. My wife ordered a rack of ribs with two sides. She loved the food--especially the ribs and mac and cheese. For dessert, she got the chocolate cake with ice cream, which was really good. I ordered the carved turkey with a side of potato wedges and mashed potatoes with gravy. I also got a pulled pork sandwich. We decided to visit for some BBQ because of the emails received from Smoky Bones. We were greeted at the bar and I asked if there were any special drinks/food. No response from the tender but menus were given. I ordered 6 bone in wings and half order ribs she ordered the boneless wings and mini nachos after showing her the online bar special from the online website. Short story we were charged full price for both wing orders and nacho. When we asked about correcting the check she said "You have to ask for the special before ordering". We paid and left. Smokey bones is my favoriteeee.. i came here with my mom when i was youngg like 11 years old and now I recently came again at 29 and love it so much!! I have been coming here at least once a week lol. It's super affordable and the foods very good, doesn't make you have to use the bathroom either! The atmosphere is hip. They have a bar with like 8 tvs with sports playing and the restaurant is very spacious. I love it here. You deff have to go! read more

I have been so upset by their horrible food and bad management, I had to finally leave a review. After working a very long day and having my children I didn't want to cook dinner, so I spent a decent amount on Smokey Bones for the convenience of not cooking. I was so, so upset when I got home and realized my food was almost raw. I asked for well done steak and sweet potato fries, I'm not even sure if the fries were even cooked, they were cold and seemed like they just came out of the freezer. Then the steak, it was bloody pink inside but I was so hungry I did what I didn't want to do that night, cook. I got out my pots and pans and fully cooked the food because I was convinced it would make me sick if I ate it as is. The next morning I called the manager and he seemed like I inconvenienced him by calling and he assured me he would call me back in 10 minutes. So sad, placed a delivery order. Ordered a loaded baked potato with chicken and salad. The potato was tough and dry as well as the chicken, they didn't put the chives, dressing was simple but no effort. The other potato was supposed to have butter and sour cream in addition to the cheese but didn't. The regular tossed salad was great but they forgot the dressing for it. The 5 layer chocolate cake had fallen apart, not a big deal, but was so dry and tasteless except for the icing. I generally don't leave reviews. Went to this location with a group of 35 players and Parents with a reservation. While our waitresses were very good. The biggest issue was getting our food, which almost half didn't. The front of the house manager refused to speak to the group and literally hid in the back. The kitchen manager had to try and fix the problem. Still no response from corporate. First and last time here. WoW, This place is bad. I thought the fact that their sign's lights being out, revealing a funny saying, was an indication or clue, but i ignored it. I paid ~$43 for Ribeye at a medium rare, with steak butter and mushrooms. I got a well-done, dry, stiff, strip steak as hard as a hockey puck. Without the butter or the mushrooms. My son got a fully loaded baked potatoe. The cheese on it looked nuked in a microwave, or it had been sitting below a hot lamp for hours. The cheese and whatever was on the top of the potatoe was so hard i couldnt even cut through it to give a small piece to my younger kid. The pulled porked tasted like a crock pot mess, blan, steamed, and unseasoned. The garlic bread was soggy and gross.The kids cheeseburger was dry and looked like another hockey puck. It was a hot mess here! The bill was in the hundreds. I will never be going back. In fact, the credit company is going to here about it. read more

Their second album, "Out of Control," did even better, and reached the number 3 slot on the Billboard charts in 2004. I'm not a doddering old man who mistakenly thinks he's typing out a review of a long forgotten band on their Amazon page - I'm here to talk about Smokey Bones. I walked into Smokey Bones on the afternoon of Friday, March 1, 2024 with my wife. I couldn't tell you when I had been in there before that, but I'm fairly sure it was during the George W. Bush administration. There was one other occupied booth on this sunny Friday afternoon, which I should have read as a blaring red neon sign telling me to turn heel and pick any other joint on Bald Hill Road. Sadly, I missed this sign. The waitress assigned to my table was named Sarah. As wife and I scooched into our booth, Sarah was chatting up the only other patrons present at Smokey's - a group of college kids from what I could surmise. Sarah spent a goodly sum of time chatting with these boys, and who can blame her? The darling buds of May are soon to bloom and kids in their early 20's are gonna do what kids in their early 20's are gonna do. After her chat with the young bucks ended, Sarah disappeared off of the dining room floor - to where, I cannot be sure. To write in her diary? To daydream about what her life would look like with one of those young gents? To huff a bag of glue? Who knows? What you can be sure of is that so much time elapsed that I needed to flag down another member of the waitstaff to ask for service - to make things clear, at this point, my wife and I are the only patrons currently in the entire restaurant. The woman I flagged, as well as the person who I believe was the shift manager, could not locate Sarah. So they took our order. Fair enough. Before I get into the substance of our meal, let me highlight some positives. They have Voodoo Ranger IPA on tap. Awesome! I love a good IPA, and Voodoo Ranger is a damn good IPA! It was served to me in a glass devoid of fingerprints or stains! It tasted good! My wife actually had a special drink request - she recently gave birth and, like most women navigating postpartum waters, is a bit more conscious of her figure than she normally is. She asked for a sweet tea cut with water, and a glass of ice on the side. The woman we flagged - again, not our waitress Sarah - came through 100%. Eventually, like sunbeams breaking through the clouds after a hurricane, Sarah graced us with her presence. However, no apologies were proffered, there was no sheepishness of her obvious f***-up, just a plain faced, tepid "You guys need anything else?" Sarah, there isn't enough oxygen in the atmosphere for me to inhale to explain what else we needed. I ordered a chipotle chicken bowl - word for word from their menu, this entree is described as follows: "Our house smoked and pulled chicken on mixed greens with roasted corn, tomatoes, cheddar-jack cheese, pickled jalapenos, and crushed tortilla chips served with chipotle-ranch dressing." House smoked, pulled chicken. You can imagine how puzzled I was when the few pieces of chicken I could fork out of a bowl full of soggy spinach leaves were cubed, white as Cillian Murphy, and dry as Dr. House. Wifey ordered wings (yes, I said earlier that she's conscious about her figure but give me a break, ok, how the hell are you supposed to walk into an alleged barbecue joint and not grab a few wingos?") I would compare these wings to the Mona Lisa in that they looked great, but you'll get into some trouble once you touch them. To a wing, each one was purple once bitten into. I used to love Smokey Bones. I used to love their waitresses. I have fond memories of sitting at the bar on Thursday nights, slamming beers and wings, laughing with the boys, confident that these times would never end and that we would all live forever. But that was 20 years ago. Some things aren't meant to last. Just because we were all jamming out to Hoobastank in 2004 doesn't mean their music was ever actually good. And there's a reason - many reasons - that they aren't putting out music now. Sometimes, things that were once good become bad, and sometimes those now bad things need to end. read more

First time coming here, but will definitely be going back again. Went for a late lunch and sat at the bar. Plenty of space at the bar and there are a bunch of TVs so creates a casual vibe. The service was great, friendly bartender and never had to wait - though it also wasn't entirely busy when I was there. Unfortunately my fathers brisket and Mac and cheese came out pretty tough and dry, but they were quick to offer him something different when that didn't work out, which was very nice of them. I got the bone-in smoked wings split between honey hot and Buffalo garlic sauce and I was very happy with my order. The wings were the right size, juicy, and the sauce wasn't overpowering. I had a sangria and margarita, both were good though the sangria was a bit sweet for my liking. The pricing was moderate - $15-20 for most of the entrees.
