Substandard meals happen, I get it. But when NO ONE cares, the experience is especially painful. I ordered a wedge salad with sirloin steak. The photo in the specials menu looked very appetizing. The server asked me how I wanted the steak, which was a good sign. I said "medium" and he went about his business. When it came out, it looked like a joke. Half a head of iceberg with a tablespoon each of blue cheese crumbles and diced tomatoes. No steak, no dressing and the lettuce looked old. It was topped with a slice of overcooked cured bacon. I asked the server where the steak was. He replied "this is how it comes." I asked why he asked me how I wanted the steak, then. He took the plate away and said that they would make a new one. After a very long wait (my wife had finished her meal by then) it came out. Even older lettuce with less stuff on it. No bacon. The "steak" was cooked to a crisp, cut into strips and was draped over the wedge. I told the server that this was inedible and asked him to take it away. After another wait, he came back and asked me if I wanted anything else. I played it safe and said I'd have a bacon cheeseburger. He asked again how I wanted it cooked. Medium, I replied. When the burger came out it was covered with unchewable overcooked bacon and was burnt and tough as a hockey puck. I couldn't eat it. No one ever asked. No one ever checked in. No one cared. There are a lot of options in that area of Woodbridge, VA. Choose one of those. Spend your precious money and out-of-house time at another place. It was just awful. And nobody - NOBODY - cared. read more

Ordered a rib combo with t for $20 with macaroni and cheese for a extra $2, for the 1/3 rack of ribs the portion size was pretty small and the macaroni and cheese wasn't worth the extra $2. Another complaint is that despite saying they have brisket after 4 they were sold out. read more

I only stood at the unmanned host station for 3mins which normally wouldn't bother me. But when you look at 6 different employees walk by you and half of them make eye contact and NOT SAY ANYTHING. - you get annoyed. I really enjoyed the buffalo wings here. The place is a little small. And the wait was 45 minutes. I mean the wait could have been less but none the less our waitress was really nice and a pleasure to work with through the night. I would definitely come here again to enjoy a date night. The food was mediocre and the service was horrendous. My friend and I came in on a Sunday evening and it wasn't busy at all. Our section only had a few people in it. The server was nice enough when we did see her, but that was rare and eventually we were the only ones left in our section. Normally when you come and clear the table you check and see if they want dessert or our ready for their check, but she was literally MIA. we sat there for literally an hour (I timed it) before we saw her or a manager. We could have honestly just walked out without even paying because the only person I saw was a bartender and one server on the other side of the restaurant. Definitely won't be returning! read more

I used to like this place. Food was good when it first open. Had ribs one night & got sick. Went back for Father's Day (gotta go where dad chooses) & tried the bbq chicken but it tasted funny. The skillet cornbread (which I used to rave about) was undercooked. Also, where we were sitting I could smell whatever they cleaned the floor with. Definitely not a good experience. Attempted to eat at this Smokey Bones today at 2:30 PM. WHAT A MISTAKE. It has been almost two years since my wife and I had a dinner at this location, and today was the final time. We will NEVER go back. My wife ordered a sliced beef brisket platter. This is her preferred choice at Smokey Bones. Today's was a disaster. When it arrived, the brisket was cold - almost as if it had just come out of the refrigerator. We noted the issue to our waiter, and he graciously took it back to be resolved. On the second delivery of the Brisket, it was steaming hot. However, now it was TOUGH - like beef jerky. At this point, my wife was consigned to eating her two sides (Broccoli and Corn) and trying to eat my over-salted BBQ Ribs. The on-duty manager did come and talk to us about the problem with my wife's meal. We recommended that he ensure a similar thing not happen to another customer. When my wife asked him if the Brisket on the second plate was fresh or reheated from her first plate - he stated that it was fresh. We suspect this was not true as the brisket looked exactly the same as on her first plate, but just a darker color and TOUGH. Bottom line - the manager deducted the brisket dinner from the overall check, and he was not seen again by us before we departed. In my humble opinion, he should have come by one more time - especially after my wife told the waiter matter-of-factly that this establishment would not see our faces ever again. Went here once for my dad's birthday. He loves BBQ. We got a few appetizers, combo plates. They were very good, we had to get a second one. The chicken tenders were so good that I got then in my dinner combo as well. The family got different things, ribs, prok, chicken, it was all very good. The service was good as well. If there was one closer we'd go more often. Haven't gone back because there are some other BBQ places we like a little better, but this place is certainly not bad at all! read more

There was a about a 25 min wait which was not too bad for a Saturday night. The hostesses on the other hand had a hard time writing down the correct names for the wait list. Jake was Jack, April was Aly ect... once finally seated took a while for the server to come. He did warn us that food was coming out slower than usual. My water cup had a crack in it and was leaking everywhere. My husband ordered the pound burger. You would think that fries and cheese came with it but nope that is extra. With a side of mayo.I ordered the rib combo with smoked wings, loaded baked potato and coleslaw. Food finally comes out, must have been under the heat lamp for a very long time because the bun on the burger was so hard. My husband said ths meat was good except the salt was not evenly distributed. Of course as usual no side of mayo. My dinner was very good. The smoked wings were sweet and crispy. Although they are called smoked wings they are definitely also fried. Good thing because I hate soggy wings. They forgot to bring out my coleslaw and when they did I wish they hadn't. It was the worse part of my meal. Hot coleslaw yuck. Over food was not bad. We will probably be back if we are in ths area and nof when they are busy. read more

Like the first reviewer said, it basically comes down to Smokey Bones or Famous Dave. Smokey Bones offers a slightly better in food quality and atmosphere but at a little higher price. My wife always order the baby back ribs, although the St. Louis ribs are also very tasty. Portions are good. The cornbread appetizer was pretty good also. But in my opinion, they should really serve free bread as soon as guests sit at tables. read more

You get your normal crappy service that you get from all the restaurants on Prince William PKWY here. Took 30min to seat us for some reason even though the place had tons of empty tables. Then the server forgot our appetizer and brought it out the same time as the entrée. Then he forgot the soup one of us ordered and still tried to charge us it. He never came by to refill anyone's drinks. The food was nothing special either. The manager didn't seem like he could handle the restaurant or his staff. read more

Great food!! Love the late night menu and the staff is awesome. Only ordered take out but on the phone and in person everything was great as far as the staff. The food was very good from what I ordered, the only reason I gave it 4 stars is because I've only ordered once. But definitely returning, will maybe upgrade to 5 stars after eating from here a few times. read more

AMAZING! I'm not a huge fan of BBQ in general, but my friends suggested it. The staff was friendly and the scene was exciting! Tons of people there and the food still came out fast. I've been coming here for a few years now and I'll be completely honest, if you're looking for a 5 star meal go somewhere else. The nachos, wings and a few desserts are yummy to munch on but other then that steer clear. As for alcohol this is me and my friends go to spot ! The prices are always great especially after 10 and the drinks are always strong but yummy ! I love coming here after work with friends and having a great time ! A little odd that this place only averages 3 stars. I visited this spot yesterday at about 2pm. We stood about 45 seconds in the lobby as we waited to be seated. A little long honestly for a Sunday afternoon but, understandable since there is less staff during slower times. The server, Alexis, was amazingly friendly. Nice beer selection (a handful of craft breweries) but we stuck to water. We ordered the "Crowd Pleaser" app. $15.00 and seriously was way too much food for me and my girlfriend. Could have been shared 4 ways. My girlfriend ordered the classic smokes wings with their house glaze, those wings were 10/10. So much flavor! I got the Loaded BBQ burger. 1/2lb patty, pulled pork, onion rings. Huge. I only was able to eat half due to the large app. 8/10 Total was $38.00 and we had leftovers that we had for a mini-dinner that same night. For a place to catch NFL games, this place is majorly slept on. Extremely cheap drinks, I'm talking $2.50 beers, $3.50 mixed drinks, $7.00 pitchers. Bring a girl if she says 'oh yeah I like football' or if you have a couple of your boys that want to check their smartphones while checking their fantasy teams. Let me preface this by saying I am a BBQ snob. I don't often find great BBQ at restaurants and rarely in chain restaurants. The wife and I ordered a 3 meat combo here so we could try a variety. The sausage was ok. It wasn't very spivey and was a bit over cooked. The pulled pork was somewhat dry and had zero smoke flavor. The chicken was moist and tasty. The baked beans were delicious. The smoked St.Louis ribs are greasy , generic and over seasoned (probably to cover up for the poor meat quality) with no smokey flavor whatsoever . We went for their ribs feast special; house 8 bones St. Louis style with 2 sides, corn bread and a beer for $19.99. The ribs were meaty and fell off the bones!! So tastey! Worst experienced ever and its Thanksgiving Day! We were really looking forward to try out their ribs but was really disappointed of their service. I ordered online a day before thanksgiving and i even got a confirmation email. Thanksgiving day, went out to pick it up, 5 minutes before the pick up time somebody called but my husband wasn't able to answer it because he was driving. Arrived at Smokey bones, my husband went in to pick up the order but was told by the waitress that there was no online order. Husband went out and told me about it and i went in to talked to them, i even showed them my confirmation email and the guy just told me that they did not accept any online orders since monday night and have no idea on why orders still went through. He just told me that he cant do anything that somebody tried to call us to tell us that no online orders and i got really furious because that was 5 minutes before the pick up time. No point in arguing with them because they will not do anything about it nor apologize on what happened. Its ridiculous!! We end up serving rotisserie chicken to our family and friends because of their lousy service and system. read more

So this is my third and final review for this place because I will not be going back. It's been months since someone from their restaurant "sent a gift card" so as to make things better. Yeah I never got it. Then I placed an online to go order the other day just to give it another chance. I paid online and put the pick up time as 10:45. I was picking my husband up late from work and thought some food would be nice. Well I arrive at smokey bones with a baby asleep in my arms hoping to just walk in and pick up the food. No. That's not how it worked. I didn't end up getting my food (partially) and leaving until after 11. After a few minutes just standing there while they all said they didn't have an order for me someone found out they did have one for me. Shocker cause I placed it an hour before hand. Here I am standing with a now awake and unhappy baby while they take their time and hardly acknowledge me. So then they go to get the order and come out and tell me they don't even have what I ordered (the part I paid extra for they didn't have of course) so then I asked to have it taken off and a manager, Albert came and said there was nothing he could do. He couldn't take it off my check or refund me or anything? Really? I don't believe that. So he took my name and number and said they would call me to fix it. It's been 3 days. That doesn't make sense to me at all. Then to top it off when I got home I found out they didn't even give me all my food. So I called and once again Albert answered and said if I lived close I could come and pick it up without charging me again. What? Once again you really aren't going to do anything for me? And then he said to have a good night. Ok. Smokey Bones I am done. I have tried and tried and tried with you. Get new management and maybe you wouldn't have so many complaints. cause now I won't be refunded for things I paid for and didn't get because your manager is incompetent. read more

Came here for a late lunch and the food was better than I thought it would be! I had passed by this place a lot and never given it a try so I thought why not? We started off with the Kettle Chips which were pretty awesome. Crispy and hot slices of fried potato with the bleu cheese sauce completely made my day! I had a burger with cheddar and bacon which they cooked to a perfect medium rare and was pretty tasty too! The mac n' cheese was just okay but I liked the fact it came out almost boiling hot. I'd rather it be like that than just lukewarm and getting colder by the second! For dessert the little doughnuts were great, especially the chocolate dipping sauce! As for the service, it was fantastic! Our waitress was on top of things and made sure we had everything we needed. I will definitely be coming back here again! read more
