To be honest, I had no clue what I was in for. Afterwards, I felt as if I achieved nirvana. I felt calm and relaxed, almost to the point of a high-like state. I had read about the 14 Carrot Gold Juice Bar located inside Weise Natural Food Shoppe on their website so wanting to have an excellent Saturday morning adventure, I drove over to check it all out. Holy Wow! Who knew this place existed? Well, apparently a ton of people because when I arrived, the parking lot was full of cars and people were coming in and out up until closing. I was greeted by a super nice lady named Sue and she asked me if I needed any help. I told her I wanted to get a fresh carrot juice so she pointed the way to the back. When I got there, an equally sweet lady named Lisa told me that I could have my carrot juice plain or with celery, garlic, parsley or ginger added or however way I wanted it. In addition, the juice bar offered organic fruit smoothies and healthy vegetarian sandwiches. I thought I had died and gone to HEAVEN! G-shot - it is tart and pungent with both Kratum & Kava but there is a hint of pineapple juice in it to mask and it has a numbing effect. Not in a bad way, but in that unmistakable health-food-store aroma that tells you there are herbs, oils, supplements, organic everything, and probably someone blending wheatgrass in the back with spiritual conviction. I walked in thinking I'd grab a couple of health bars or maybe a smoothie, and suddenly I found myself in what felt like a live-action documentary about modern hippie culture. Real hippies. I'm talking long dreads, natural fabrics, calm serene smiles, and an energy that says they own a crystal collection and know each crystal by name. The vibe inside was amazing. Everyone looked like they were on their own personal wellness quest, floating around the aisles with purpose, shopping carts full of things I didn't even know existed. I felt like I needed to level up spiritually just to stand near the kombucha section. And the café area had this cozy, earthy coolness to it that almost convinced me to sit down and contemplate the meaning of life over a smoothie bowl. The whole experience was wild in the best possible way. Grassroots Natural Market wasn't just a store that day. My puppy boy Simba hurt his knee a few weeks ago and has been limping ever since. My neighbor…read moresuggested I try some CBD oil on his knee so I stopped by Natural Life to see what they had to offer. This was my first time in a CBD store and I was shocked by the expensive prices. But my neighbor told me the CBD oil, put directly on her hips and knees, helped her pain tremendously. So I guess CBD is better than gold lol. All of the products were in a locked glass cases. The associate was very helpful because I had lots of questions. I decided to purchase CBD balm for paws, but instead of putting it on his paws I put it on his knee before bedtime. He didn't seem quite as stiff this morning when he got up from his bed. Of course Simba can't tell me if it helped, but I believe it did. After I found something for Simba I asked the associate if he had any recommendations for a product to help with sleep. Most of the time I fall asleep quickly, but other times it's a struggle. He recommended a few options but I went with Sleepy Z's which was specifically formulated for sleep. I used one last night and I fell asleep with no problem and slept like a baby. Each package included two blackberry gummys but I started with one. I will warn you the taste is not the greatest. But if it works who cares! They did sell packaging with higher quantities, but since it was my first time trying it I wanted to start slow and see how it worked before investing in a larger package. When I checked in on Yelp I received a free CBD pre-roll which I have not tried yet. But I'm convinced CBD products have many health benefits. Whether it be to help ease aches and pains or assist with sleep. If you are not big into medications, like myself, stop by Natural Life and give them a try.
