Today, it's cold and bleary so I ordered a cup of soup to go with my half-snap. In full transparency since I have the app, my half snap would have been complimentary but I added 1/2 a sautéed salmon to it and got the soup. Ok, back to the food. I created my own salad and it was delicious. The soup on the other hand was supposed to be potato. Not one piece of potato to be seen. The soup was this weird hello baby food like color and consistency. It was bland and even the sprinkle of cheese added to it barely melted. The thickness with zero flavor was like eating potato purée mixed with too much cornstarch. Not at all appetizing. Go for the salad and skip the potato soup, definitely no love lost there. read more

Hubby ordered the 1/2 Cobb.......it's Iceberg and romaine lettuces, tomatoes, green onion, boiled eggs, bacon, grilled chicken, fresh avocado, Gorgonzola cheese, with the Original Brown Derby Cobb dressing...he was feeling happy & full with his choice. I ordered 1/2 Buffalo Chicken....it's Iceberg and romaine lettuces, tomatoes, carrots, and celery, added some fresh avocado, with house-made SFH Maytag Blue Cheese Vinaigrette and topped with crispy Buffalo Chicken and Gorgonzola Blue Cheese....exactly what my taste buds were craving! Yeah, okay, I'm kind of in love with Snappy Salads. Even though I still hate salads. We've gotten a to-go order three times from this location. My werk beyotches love this place. And being the youngest and fastest driver, I am always sent to pick it up. They usually have it ready and it's a fairly easy transaction. You can order online if you want too! Only I've found you can't order the salad of the day if you do it this way. That salad is usually not one you can choose as a part of the online ordering system. My only complaint is this: the first two times we ordered salads we got the wrong dressings. Like, I ordered the Buffalo Chicken (and had my mouth all ready for the maytag blue cheese vinaigrette) and in the sack we had three lemon vinaigrettes that went with the other two crispy artichoke salads. Not cool, and made me want to snap somebody in a snappy way. Second time, I got my blue cheese vinaigrette but one of the other two salad eaters I'm with got the Cobb salad and the other got the grilled avocado again.... we ended up with one blue cheese and two brown derby cobb dressing. To say this aggravated us was sort of an understatement. But I learned my lesson and now I check the sack before I leave. Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me. Yum yum in my tum!!!! I definitely love the salads here. I have my favorite, which be the BBQ chicken ranch salad, minus the onion add Mandarin oranges. So good!!! But I have also tried many of the others and the are equally great. The portion sizes a perfect. They have two sizes and I have always got the smaller of the two but it is still a healthy sized salad. The reason they lost a stars is because it could get a little pricey for a salad. I absolutely love Snappy Salads! I must say that I appreciate their expansion beyond North Park mall. This location is a great one because it's easy to get to quickly from 75 and the staff is always very nice, helpful and friendly. I get a little indecisive so I often skim and stare at the menu. And almost every time, a staff member comes over to offer assistance. Okay so let's get to the food! I love their soups. They are homemade and it tastes like it too. What I like about their soups is that they are unique and not just the regular staples that you normally see like chicken noodle. I love sampling them first. I also rave about their Santa Fe Chicken Snap Wrap. I don't like everyone's chicken salad but there's is phenomonal. You know chicken salad is a lot trickier to pull off than tuna salad. And me likes! They serve it with tortilla chips and homemade salsa. Might want to ask for an extra as the salsa comes in a pretty small serving but the chips are really tasty so you can really eat them on their own. Salad wise, there are so many tasty delights. I often frequent the Sautéed Salmon and sub with the Parsley vinaigrette for the Ginger that it's originally paired with. I love watching them cook the Salmon. I've also tried create your owns, the Grilled Avocado, The Buffalo Chicken and The Mexican (which is off the menu but can still be made...it might be similar to the Texas Taco), and The Greek...all yummy. They also have a great drink selection beyond the regular carbonated drinks like flavored teas, lemonade and cane cola and root beer. Although I am primarily an H2Oer. They are always expanding the menu so it's even more to try. Highly recommended. Tasty and healthy. Just go easy on the dressing if you can. read more

A solid 4.5/5, but gets a 5 because the portions are quite large (even though it is pricey). It's pretty much a salad version of Qdoba/Freebirds/Chipotle. It's $8/$10 for a half/full build-your-own salad with 8/12 toppings that you choose. The "half" size is actually really big, one was almost too big for me (and I'm a pretty big guy). You can pay an extra $2-4 to add some meat to your salad. One thing I really like is the freedom of choices you have. They have a bunch of toppings and if you want all 8 or 12 of your toppings to be mushrooms or cheese or bacon or whatever, you can get that. The employees are friendly and the food is delicious, the only complaint I can think of is the price. If I had any suggestion I would make a smaller size for $2 less and change the names to small/medium/large, because to me "half" implied that it was small or something. The salad was nice and fresh as always and the lemon vinaigrette is heaven. However, they stuffed it into a really small bowl that did not look great when I got back to my office. My go to salad spot when I feel I've overindulged over the weekend. Okay, if you go during peak hours like I do aka lunch hour, be prepared to get anxiety when you step up to the salad bar to place your order. The employees there are polite, but it seems you're kind of expected to know what you want and how you want it right away. To this day, I still get stressed when I have to pick my dressing and meat..sometimes they don't ask you so I'm afraid they'll pack up my salad before I even get to tell them what meat I want. As they mix everything together, I just blurt out what meat and to add avocado. I'm never sure that they hear me, but they always get it right. I've tried their Chicken Caesar Salad and Texas Taco, which are both tasty. I love the different layers of flavor and texture from the Texas Taco Salad. Usually, I create my own half snap and add an avocado and pulled chicken or grilled chicken. Sometimes the chicken tastes too salty. The toppings are fresh. All this costs $13. Still pretty pricey but filling so I will not complain. Obviously, i haven't had an issue since I come here at least once a week if not more for lunch. Highly highly recommend! I'm visiting from out of town but wish I had one where I lived- I'd visit all the time. I had the grilled avocado salad, which was delicious, and my mom had the Greek with shrimp- I can't wait to try the grilled artichokes next time. This spot is great for lunch & dinner, and healthy while being really filling. The salads are delicious and the ingredients are very fresh. The atmosphere is great with long, wood farm tables inside and picnic tables for outside seating options. The manager- Austin- greeted us and was great about walking us through the menu and making suggestions based off what we liked, how hungry we were, etc. He stopped by after to make sure we liked our orders as well. I was looking forward for this place to open, and finally it did. I was so excited I decided to go with one of my friends and as soon as we walked in, we were greeted by the location manager. She was great. Very friendly, and quick to explain the menu and the concept. My choice at that moment: (yes because, I've gone more than once ;-)) was the Grilled Avocado salad. The service - even though the place had opened two day prior to my visit - was fast and friendly. I have only one comment about the salad, and it had to do with the presentation. This salad has a slice of avocado on top, and since I asked for the salad to go, when they closed the salad it squished the avocado making the salad less appealing. But the taste was amazing! One thing I love about salad places is when you can see the ingredients in front of you and see when they prepare it. After asking for my salad, in a "snap" I was out the door. The decoration is simple, but kind of cool. They don't have tables, instead they have communal tables with benches, a good opportunity to meet other people - if you like if not just eat your salad -. There is also an outside patio that I bet during the Fall will be lovely to eat there. I liked it so much that a week later I went back to the place and ordered another salad. This time I asked for the Crispy Artichoke. For some reason, I didn't register in my head that the salad had fried artichoke and when I saw the breaded fried artichoke I had to ask them change it because due to my celiac disease I can't eat breaded things. They didn't even flinch or think twice making a new salad for me, not buts, not ifs, not a bad face, nothing. Instead they were very graceful and understandable. This place was great but as with all expansions has fallen on the hit or miss service. The last 2 visits have been dreadful. Most of the staff act as if they are there only for the paycheck and could care less about the customer. They rush through the orders and want to keep talking among themselves. Also the quality of the items has dropped and prices have increased. Not to mention after the last 2 visits I got quite ill. The spinach has tasted gritty and other items taste as if they were bought in frozen instead of fresh. Again the staff could care less about serving you and look down on you if you want to taste something or have a question. No doubt this once good place is headed for the typical restaurant fate. Today was my final try. The salmon on my salad was raw. Not the 'medium' you'd expect at a nice restaurant Rather, cold and raw. The lack of pride in their product is sad, and after many disappointing experiences at this location-I can say it's my last. I'll take my business elsewhere (and learn how to make my own real dill version). NOTE: They did cook a piece for me after I raised it to their attention. Ok so it's my fault! I was hungry!! I get it. However, when I place a TO GO ORDER wouldn't it be a GOOD idea to tell the person placing the order that YOU HAVE NO FORKS?!?!??! After my salad is made and bagged I realized no fork was placed in the bag. I asked the man that gladly took my money for a fork for an eating utensil he states 'we are all out of forks'. I love this place. I've had it to go, catered, and dined in. I've had the roasted grape and gorgonzola flat bread -- SO good. I am already a fan of roasted grapes, so with the gorgonzola, this dish was a hit. Oh man, I could have some right now! I've also had the herbed goat cheese-stuffed peppadews. Those sweet but tangy bright little things pair well with the soft goat cheese. Though not my favorite on the menu, they are worth trying. My most favorite app or thing to share on the menu is the crispy artichoke hearts with lemon aioli. They fry the artichoke hearts perfectly, and the lemon aioli tops it off so well! So in order from fave to least fave for apps: 1. Artichoke hearts 2. Flatbread 3. Peppadews Not for the salads -- I don't think you can go wrong with any salad you choose, but my favorite is the grilled avocado. It is wonderful! By the time you're done with it, you'll be shocked you ate a salad. The corn, dressing, and of course the avocado, are my favorite in the salad. I will say it is pricey, and typically I will finish the portion, but it's worth it. To note, there's no need to get a piece of bread on the side. I have been here three times and I am not certain why I continue trying it. This will be my last visit. It's just not the best option around. When there are places like Crisp who offer organic options at the same price, Snappy doesn't compete. Today, I ordered a half snap with no protein and added avocado and it was $10. Add $2 for iced tea that tasted like dirty water. It's just not worth it. The best part was when she poured on croutons out of a giant plastic bag. I mean come on...presentation matters a bit.
