I ordered the cheesesteak, based on the description on the online menu. The sandwhich came with some sort of 'vegetable slaw' on it that wasn't listed in the description: celery, cauliflower, carrots, etc. i hated it! I called to ask what on earth was on my sandwich and was told that was the 'hot peppers' mentioned in the description. 'Ripple', if that was his real name, wasn't very nice about my concern about ingredients not listed... he told me to call corporate. No offer to remake the sandwich, nothing. So beware: if you happen to be allergic to any particular vegetable, it could end up on your sandwhich without your knowledge! read more

Delicious sub place!!!! One of my favorites! I'm not a vegetarian but I decided to try their portabella mushroom sub and I was not missing the meat! I actually loved it so much I haven't been able to try anything else. Try it their way. (I wasn't disappointed). Slow to make sandwiches could be overlooked but the process to have order taken was super painful. If the young woman had asked me about sandwich sizes (after I started by saying two 7" sandwiches and then given her sizing twice more) one more time I might've lost it. Then ... 5 minutes after she took my order the person making my sandwiches had to ask again. Same with toppings - had to specify three times each. I can understand if someone is training but then make that clear. Didn't seem that way, she just seemed to not get it or bother listening. If you can't get someone who can listen and communicate better maybe have customers fill out a form with check boxes. At least then there's a clear process. Oy. read more

Stopped by to grab sandwiches when driving through Boulder to Nederland. I called and asked if they had a "to go menu" I could take since my service was a little slow. The guy was so rude!! He asked me if I knew there was a virus going around and to talk up to the window to look at the menu. One, there was about 5 people at the door hovering over the menu (yeah that's real social distancing). Two, I had my two small children in the car, who I didn't want to leave to hover over a menu for 10 minutes. Thanks but no thanks!! Perfection. I'm a big fan of unique sandwich places and this place was awesome. I have some friends who used to live in Boulder and they recommended Snarf's. They knew how big of a fan I am of Zingerman's in Ann Arbor, Michigan since I hail from that area. I had the NY Steak sandwich. It was cooked perfectly and the bread was a really nice addition to making such an amazing sandwich. My wife got the BLT and I'll tell you one thing, they did not disappoint with the amount of bacon they put on that thing. Always trust a place that gives you a lot of bacon. The food was good, but this location is really dingy. All the tables and chairs were in poor condition and the restaurant was a mess. I really hope the kitchen was cleaner than the dining area. I think is an older location but certainly needs some attention. I know Snarf's is really expanding, but it might be time to reinvest some money in the older stores. Do not order in DoorDash from this restaurant. My company has placed several large group orders (5-10 people) from this branch in DoorDash and every single time they got our orders wrong. This includes missing items, wrong toppings on sandwiches, food is incorrectly labeled. We have complained and they do not seem to care. I get it I went during their rush which was lunch time but I waited 40 mins for a sandwich. Which was insane and unbearable as I had my 2 year old. This place is awful. I've tried it twice, thinking the first experience was a fluke (the chicken salad sandwich was pretty bad, using low-quality chicken - dark, stringy) and I found absolutely nothing unique or delicious about it, especially after waiting 20 minutes in line and paying around $8. The next time I ordered an eggplant parmesan and waited in the shop while it was being made. 5 minutes passed. 10 minutes. Then 20. Seriously? I saw probably five others being served before we were (and one group came in with a bunch of boys from a soccer team). Interestingly, in this time frame, I saw not one but TWO people come back in and say that their sandwich was messed up (in one, the meat was undercooked and the other didn't receive any of the correct ingredients). After seeing some of the employees behind the counter look my way and point (probably wondering what this random girl was doing there), I realized they had forgotten my order. I walked back up to the counter and asked how much longer the sandwich would take. The girl who rang in the order claimed that the sandwich had to run through the oven several times....for 25 minutes? At least be honest and tell me you forgot to make my sandwich! So I saw the sandwich being made hastily, ran through the oven twice, and I was able to be on my way. It was okay...perhaps 2/5. I recently made a trip back to Colorado, where I spent my collegiate days running amok. My vacation was amazing- attended the nuptials of some good friends (beautiful, and perfect- with the tiny exception of some of the wedding party ending up in jail), met my 11 day old twin cousins (adorable, in a reminiscent-of-mashed-potatoes-kinda-way), and reenacted old shenanigans with former roommates (no, we haven't matured at all). I've had one great experience here and bunch of blah ones. They have peach Izze though. Sometimes free peach Izze. Like when the counter staff isn't paying attention to the stuff you have on the counter right in front of their faces. Which is pretty much always. Because they're all probably high (as evidenced by the clock on the wall that says 'Boulder Time!' and is forever pointing at 4:20). Counter staff and sandwich-makin' staff constantly being high (fine, legal-minded subconscious, fine: ACTING high) has its perks, but it also has its drawbacks. Sometimes you get free peach Izzes or your sandwiches come out bigger than you ordered them... but more often they just ignore your topping requests by either adding toppings you hate or subtracting toppings you love. Sometimes they get too happy with the mayo and your sandwich ends up technically being classifiable as a liquid. Sometimes (true story) the guys making the sandwiches (who are always extremely friendly to each other, but not to you) peer into the oven and scream "EWWWW! GROSS!" and in the next moment go back to crafting sandwiches as though nothing out of the ordinary just happened. It all came together for me last time and I got two lovely, well-crafted sandwiches: an Italian and a meatball/provolone, both a size larger than I had ordered. The only screwup was that there was mayo on my meatball sub, which should be illegal - but it was easy to scrape off. If I could be guaranteed something as good as that meatball every time... man, I'd be in here a lot. The Italian didn't live up to Salvaggio's, but what does, right? Anyway, so don't come here if you have any food allergies. Telling them to not put a certain food on your sandwich will not have any effect at all whatsoever on whether or not they put it on. read more

My wife and I were hungry, but didn't want a huge meal, so Snarf's was the perfect option for us October 7th. They have a wide variety of freshly made sandwiches and salads - we just sampled the sandwiches. They offer 5, 7, and 12 inch sandwich lengths and ours were made on warm, delicious Italian bread made daily at a nearby bakery. Meat is cut fresh for each sandwich - my wife had the turkey avocado and I ordered the roast beef with lettuce, tomato, purple onion, and fat free mayo - DELICIOUS! No. Would I go back? yeah if there was no line, which since this place is Boulder's Snooze, doesn't sound like is ever the case. The staff was very friendly I will say that. When I first moved to Boulder in August 2015, I lived just down the road from this sandwich shop. I kept hearing about this "Snarf's" phenomenon, but never put two and two together until someone literally pointed me towards it on one fortunate Friday. For the next year or so, I had at least one Snarf's sandwich a week. They're fantastic, and always satisfying. Of course, there's plenty of stiff competition in this town, but they hold it down with reasonable prices, great flavor, and pretty fast execution. If you download their app, and place an order before you head there, you'll avoid any line that these other reviewers are referring to. There is something unique about a Snarf's sandwich. It is a like a memory not easily forgotten; a lingering thought on the tip of your taste buds. There are many chains where you can order a toasted sub, but they do not even compare. Somehow the bread at Snarf's is perfectly toasted, every time. I am convinced they put some sort of liquid crack on the sandwich when you are not looking. Even the most basic sandwich, say Turkey and Swiss, is transformed into a special treat at Snarf's. When you order, I highly recommend getting *Everything* on your sandwich. The combo of the marinated peppers (with odd little vegetable pieces? mixed in), mustard, mayo, oil, pickles etc all fuses together on the warm bread to form a heavenly; dripping sauce of amazingly complimentary flavor. We always call our orders in, pick up some beer from Liquor Mart, and the sandwiches are ready 15 minutes later. Much better than waiting in line =). I had to check out this place based on two things: 1. It's really close to my work. 2. Almost everyone on here seems to love it! So... I went, and I got a "pro" sized prime rib sandwich (also on many recommendations from here) to split with my husband. We both LOVED it! It was definitely tasty, and we'll definitely go there again for this yummy sandwich! A nice change from roast beef on a sandwich... much more tender & delicious. Plus, the bread was toasted to perfection, and they sell Hansen's sodas (which I love). Great place! This place is definitely and upgrade from the little trailer with not much room to stand let alone sit. Luckily their food hasn't changed at all, it was really tasty. I tried the Snarf Special Artichoke and Feta with added bacon and Shitake dressing (a suggestion from the worker that served us). It was like a food party in my mouth, there were so many flavors that I was a little overwhelmed, but not for long. Not only do they have amazing sandwiches, but also Izze and other great bottled drinks and ice cream! Plus their staff were all really friendly and happy. They played a lot of great music, but it was a little too loud for my buddy that I took there. This is an awesome sandwich place! they have many options. You can get a 7"(around $8-9) or 12" ($10-13) sandwich depending on what you get on it. I had the smoked brisket and it was damn good! The cashier actually recommended it as a solid choice. They have a few tables inside and outside. Parking is a bit hard as they are sharing it with a dance or dart audio next door...and the mean lady told us we couldn't park there. So besides parking, i'd say go and get your sandwich! read more

It pains me to have to write this 1 star review, I really do enjoy Snarf's sandwiches but the service I received yesterday from one of their senior staff members, who I have seen working at this location for a while (middle aged, long beard), was RIDICULOUS! I ordered a sandwich and milkshake, when they started making my sandwich this particular staff member went to make my milkshake. He added all the ingredients to blender, turned the blender on then returned back to the sandwich making area. After staying in the sandwich area for 1-2 minutes, he then headed back toward the blender which would of have probably been a perfect time to take it off the blender as it was a VitaMix Blender (very powerful) but he instead turned to the register and took 2 couples' orders first. During this time my order name was called and when I went to take my sandwich from the pickup counter, I asked the nearest employee "There was supposed to be a milkshake with this?" He responded with "Hold on let me check for you" He then went to check with the original milkshake maker employee and finally after probably close to 5 minutes total now of blending the milkshake, it came off the blender. It was complete liquid, totally over blended, no ice cream what so ever. This was bad, but I understand mistakes happen. It's what happened next that was the problem. The original milkshake maker employee delivered the cup to me and said "Sorry we are a little understaffed today and making milkshakes are our last priority" As if it was my fault for ordering it. If that's true, take them off the menu. If that's true and you realized you forgot about it on the blender, make another one for me. With a VitaMix blender, it could be blended in 30 seconds or less. If that's true, don't head to the register and take more orders before you finish at least a few of the ones you have backed up. read more

After a pretty long hiatus from Boulder, I'm glad to be working there again for many reasons, including being able to walk a few blocks for some Snarfilicious sandwiches. You'd be missing out on one of the best sandwiches in Boulder if you judged a book by it's cover. The Pearl St. location of Snarf's looks like an e coli epidemic waiting to happen (and honestly, I don't want to know how close to the truth that is), but puts out sandwiches that you just can't get anywhere else in Colorado. I can't speak for the quality for all of the toppings as I have a general disdain for tomatoes and crisphead lettuce, but the oil, spicy peppers, pickled celery all really help make the sandwich. There are a wide variety of meats and cheeses available-- I'd say their specialty is the Prime Rib sandwich, though I did have one a few days ago which I thought was undercooked. I've saved the best part for last-- the bread! From what I can tell, Snarf's uses their own baguettes which have been slightly under-baked. Once they are done putting the meat and cheese on your sandwich, they roll it through a toaster (just like Quizno's) for what I consider one of the best sandwich breads I've ever had! It has a very thin crispy layer on the outside, but the inside is nice and soft. Easily the most eatable baguette you'll ever sink your teeth into. I plan on returning to France soon to slap around various baguette vendors for not being able to compete with the snarfy deliciousness of Snarf's bread. A couple of other bonuses that casual eaters at Snarf's may not notice-- they have a great selection of milkshakes with flavors you can't get anywhere else (chocolate chip mint and orange dream, for instance), and they have a very good selection of beverages including many diet soda's, typical Boulder mainstays such as Izze, etc. Other than the prime rib sandwich I had last week, this place has been very consistent and delicious over the years, and definitely is somewhere you MUST eat if you live or visit Boulder. They will be moving across the street soon into a new location, so hopefully the place will have a better aesthetic appeal once they've moved.
