This is an unassuming bar cafe in a strip mall. I would say that Sneekers is loaded with regulars and locals. One of my friends recommended this place to me. So I went. Like I said, it's a local bar that serves decent food. I ordered the Rhode Island clam chowder and a grilled ham and cheese sandwich for about $15. I also had a local craft beer. The craft beer was suggested by the waitress and was cold, and on point with a citrusy flavor. It was really good. Nothing seemed to hit me on the menu so I went with Rhode Island clam chowder to compare, that included a grilled ham and cheese sandwich. The Rhode Island clam chowder was OK. But the grilled ham and cheese was on point, that included lots of cheese, and a smoky ham. I like this. On a cold and damp day like today, I couldn't think of anything better than soup and a grilled cheese. This was comfort food. So if you're ever in the Groton area, and you're hungry and need a beer or a cocktail, this would be an OK stop. There are other choices I would like to visit, so I'm sorry to say this is probably a one and done for me. The place was dimly lit, I didn't have a chance to check out the bathrooms, but I did happen to notice the adult only store a couple doors down to the left of this place. No, I did not check it out therefore no review on the adult store.

We ordered nachos, and our friends ordered the $27 Bourbon Sirloin Steak. Waited about 30 minutes wondering where our food was. After45 minutes it finally arrived! Nachos were cold and the steak was just awful. It was the size of a single McDonalds patty, tough as nails, and smothered in Bourbon sauce. We called our server over and explained we were far from happy with our meal. Actually, she was the only good part of the experience. I forget her name, I think it was Anise, but she was very friendly and chatty, mentioned she's moving to Hawaii w/her boyfriend this month. (July 2026) Her manager came over and was very apologetic, told us she would take care of the bill. She also gave us coupons for free appetizers and a drink on our next visit. Well, needless to say there won't be a "next visit." We should have listened to our good friends in the first place. We left there hungry and very disappointed. Take it from us .......... I was dining with my young daughter during prime dinner hour (around 8), yet we never felt overlooked. The staff was attentive, warm and genuinely welcoming. Ironically, there was no sauce, but it didn't need it, as the hot honey blended perfectly with the sopprosatta. The antipasto was great, packed with lots of meat...everything was fresh and the prosciutto was a standout. The peppers were refreshing and the lettuce had a light and refreshing dressing. The oysters were really good as well, opened perfectly, cold, and crisp. Great treat for a hot sunny day.

I am absolutely obsessed with everything here. They seated us right away! I love the vibes of the place, it's beautiful and inviting, but not pretentious. Our waitress was the best. She knew it was our anniversary and gave us a little bubbly to toast to. We also made it for happy hour (5 pm - 6 pm on weekdays, and 5 pm - 6 pm on weekends only at the bar)! All the small plates on the left side of the menu were half off! We immediately ordered drinks (the $10 happy hour cocktail - a blackberry bourbon smash for my husband, and a mocktail for me). We then ordered the shishito peppers, 2 of the pickled beet deviled eggs, and the roasted oysters with chili oil. They came out super fast, and it was delicious. The shishitos had that great char flavor along with a great dipping sauce. You can never go wrong with deviled eggs. Then we decided to order the fried oysters and the bread with corn butter. The fried oysters were the star of the small plates. Cooked so well. Freshly fried, you bite into it and it was juicy and delicious on the inside. Just so good. The bread and butter? Ugh, my dream butter and bread. Just so delicious. The butter was slightly sweet from the corn and had flakes of sea salt on tip, making it the perfect sweet and salty combo. We also got the salad (local produce!), and our waitress knew we were sharing ao she had the kitchen put it on 2 plates. Such a great touch. The salad was fantastic. After eating lobster rolls for a day, this was a much needed salad. It was refreshing, bright, and light! For our main entrees, we got the seared local squid and the strip steak. It was INCREDIBLE. Everything had so much flavor. The squid was cooked well, wasnt chewy. Just delicious. The crispy rice was the BEST THING I HAVE EVER EATEN. I wish we could order bowls of it. My husband finished it, couldn't get enough of it. The steak was fantastic as well. The potato with the bearnise sauce was so dreamy. The little onions on the steak, all the little touches were so well done. We knew we had to get dessert. We got a scoop of the black raspberry ice cream, a scoop of corn and blueberry swirl ice cream, and the lavender honey panna cotta. Guys. You 100% must get dessert. The corn blueberry ice cream was unreal. I dont know how you get all that flavor into ice cream. They dont skimp on the honey on the panna cotta. And it went so well with the more mild panna cotta. The black raspberry was a little icy because they froze whole blackberries in it, but at least you know they were trying to make sure you got blackberries in there. With happy hour, the bill wasn't too bad. This was hands down our favorite meal of our week long road trip. I can't wait to come back. I would 100% make a detour to eat here.
