I was very excited to try this place, and was a little disappointed since it has 5 stars. I always get my favorite flavors of half chamoy and half tamarind, and with tamarind pulps on top this time (didn't know that was possible). For an extra natural flavor (tamarind), it was $0.50 more and $0.25 for the pulps. With all the extras, a small ended up costing me $2.25. Not bad! What bad was the quality of the ice. It was very inconsistent. Some part were chunky and some were finer, but even the finer part wasn't as fine as TC's shaved ice. I couldn't even finish it, because it was too sweet. Way too much syrup. One of the cashier recommended mango con chile to my friend, and that was a little better, but the shaved ice was still crappy. The service was good. These high school girls seemed a little lost, but they tried to be helpful. I like how this is a sit down place. Too bad it wasn't good, but I'll come back for a second try. read more

But I did ask if the whole fruit ones had sugar added and it was confirmed that they do indeed. Woe is me, my heart broke. The employees here are SO kind and friendly. They've got so many delicious flavors including a section on their menu designated as "natural flavors". Some of their snow cones are even made with fresh produce like mangos & limes which makes the trip all the more worthwhile. Trust me, you will not be disappointed coming to this place but be forewarned - the line can get pretty long if you show up at a peak time. Do not insult Sno by calling it a snow cone stand. It's nothing like that. It's shaved ice and it is delicious. What makes it so great? First off, the ice is shaved so thin that it's very smooth. Not like the ice chunks you get from a snow cone vendor. That's just finely crushed ice. This is finely shaven ice so it's practically a Slurpee(TM) consistency. Basically it's a thick Slurpee(TM) consistency that you'd eat with a spoon. Second, there are all kinds of flavors. The owner was there and asked if it was our first time. It was. He rattles off a bunch of the flavors that are popular, the difference between the natural flavors and the original flavors, the flavors that go well with others, ones that don't go well with others, what is tart, what is sweet, his favorites, etc. We decide on a lime with blackberry. It was good. Above average good. My friends got one that was mango with strawberry. Also good. Above average. And a half and half Pink Lemonade and Unnatural Lime (this is what we called the original flavors since the other flavors are called "Natural"). Very refreshing. Third, the price: For $2.50 you get a medium or $3 you get a large. $4 for a Texas sized and $2 for a small. Pretty good pricing for what you get. We're probably going to come back on Wednesday so we'll have some other flavors then. Excellent. Here are some flavors you should try: Almost anything Natural. The Changito is VERY sour, so make sure you mix it with something. I was going to get it with Strawberry but they suggested getting the natural lime instead of the Changito. It was very good. *Natural Strawberry and Natural Lime* Natural Kiwi and Natural Mango. So good. I think they're out. Last time we went there was definitely no more Kiwi. Natural Watermelon tastes just like watermelon. Probably could use it a little sweeter. The Wife really likes Natural Blackberry. Of the Original flavors, I'd get the Pucker and Ruby Red. They don't really taste like Grapefruit, but it's still pretty good. Our friends love putting the spice on their Sno. I'm not a fan of it but our friends can't have their Sno without it. Sno is a great place to grab a Sno-Ball & beat the heat! The servers are always friendly and helpful in case you have any questions, or are having a hard time deciding on what flavor you want. I especially like all of the Natural Flavors they offer, particularly Watermelon and Strawberry & Cream! There are several other flavors I'd like to try so, I look forward to my next visit. Oh the childhood memories of the snow cone! While they're all made of ice, the texture of the ice makes such a huge difference. From Slurpees and Slush Puppies to those rock hard ice cube versions in elementary school, there are oh so many varieties. Sno is off Meadow and 75, a neighborhood that's....well....in transition. You can find a wig, eat greasy Chinese buffet cuisine, hang out at an abandoned Luby's turned medical office, or get a gourmet snow cone. All in one! When you walk in the door at Sno, it smells clean. As in Fabuloso clean. I'm sure what scent of cleaner they use but it smells like antibiotic-level lavender. They generally feature the traditional (read: not natural) flavors and natural juice flavors for snow cones. I almost went natural for the less sweat route but I decide to re-live the corn syrup induced childhood memories of the non-natural "Tiger's Blood". I ordered a medium for about $2.50 which was decent price for the size. The texture was awesome and the flavor....well SWEET. I'm not a big sweets person so I couldn't even finish it but I enjoyed it. I could have easily had a small size portion instead. I'm not aware of a big snow cone culture in Dallas but if someone was really into that sorta thing, this would be their place. They snow cones come with a smile and the service is chipper. I seriously love this place! It had been saved on my Yelp collection for so long now and finally went to try it! It's a small spot and hidden in the shopping center but once you find it, you'll remember where it is. I lived in San Antonio for four years and there was a fruteria there that sold the best changitos and I have not been able to find one in the DFW area until visiting here. I am so happy to have found a spot that sells changitos! They are not for anyone who doesn't love lime. It's freshly squeezed and so delicious! With salt and chamoy, it can't get any better. My girlfriend had the blue coconut and it is delicious! We came back the very next day for another blue coconut (hehe!). The ice is so finally shaved and definitely resembles snow. It's similar to bahama bucks but I think the syrups taste a lot better and the prices are very reasonable here. We are so happy to have found this spot and can't wait to try more flavors! read more
