Tried for the first time earlier this week. Great way to ensure the extreme heat weekend. My husband got the Oreo shaved ice (bingsu) and I got the nutella taiyaki (croissant like dough baked in a fish shaped griddle) with vanilla ice cream. My husband also ordered another taiyaki for our son which was way too much food but delicious all the same. The portions are huge! Nice clean interior, and friendly service. Bonus points because the cashier said my son was cute. Service was quick. All in all a great experience. Finally got a chance to try riceballs and a bento box, and boy did they not disappoint! I unfortunately only get the Shitake, egg and mushroom riceball, because it's so good, I have no desire to try anything else, although I am interested in the spicy tuna. Bento box wise I've had the salmon and beef, salmon being KY favorite. I was never really into fried eggs, but having them here I've come around on them. The staff is nice and it's a nice little spot. The smoothies are also that deal, I'd recommend the strawberry banana. My only real gripe with thr place, and it's probably not their fault, it's probably the distribution problems affecting everybody, but it seems like every time I come in, more and more is unavailable on the menu. Deeelish!! It totally took us back to the first "snow" bingsu () (shaved ice) that place we stood in line for hours for in Seoul (called ). We got the green tea one which was layered with red bean, sweetened condensed milk and some small rice cakes at the bottom. We asked for extra red bean which they were nice to add, and glad we did Bc my hubs is a red bean lover. You can also add more condensed milk as desired (bottle at the counter), but it was already quite balanced for our taste. It's a bit pricey~ $9 for medium and $12 for a large, but tasty nonetheless. It's a healthier option to ice cream, a bit diff than sno monster, and refreshing in this already 100 summer heat. read more

We had the mango bingsu, and it seems to be their best selling bingsu. It is deliciously refreshing. A small is enough to share with another person. It was bland chicken overpowered by the fried crust that was also not seasoned. Went there mainly for the Taiyaki. Was told it was not available. I really wanted to like this place. When you walk in you get the impression that they have no real interest in servicing you. The music is WAY TOO LOUD and I could barely hear the cashier. It's so delicious! I was hesitant to try this place out because I've had bad experiences with shaved ice in the past. Snowy Village's Bingsu dessert is very delicate and has a subtle flavor. It's light and has distinct tiny pieces and isn't "wet". What gives it flavor is the topping (fresh fruit!) and you can add your own sugar and/or condensed milk. The cashier and servers at the counter were lovely. They answered our questions about what Bingsu was and how the dessert was constructed. A small is $6.95, but can feed two easily. I'll be back because I want to try the fish-shaped croissant sandwiches they make. read more

The store was clean and the people working there were nice but the cashier was only wearing a bandana. A bandana does nothing to protect the employee or customer from COVID, they need to wear a proper mask. The ice is made so well that it melts blissfully in your mouth. It doesn't come to par with SnoMo. I recommend you to come visit this place because it is the only one that will sell Bing Su in Austin. The other closest location is near Killen, which is such a hassle, whereas you can just get it 15-20 minutes away (depending how far you live from downtown Austin). read more

Not only can you come here for a delicious dessert but they also serve food here like triangle rice rolls. I shared a condensed milk shaved ice with strawberries between me and 2 other friends. This place blows Sno Mo's out of the water. Clean, minimalistic, and modern. I had the mango snow and the red bean taiyaki. Mango is perfectly sweet with a nice balance of the snow milk. It came with a scoop of ice cream on the top which topped it off perfectly. The red bean taiyaki was made to order. I thought it was going to taste like a waffle or pancake you see in asian shops but i was wrong. The taiyaki dough was crepe thin but strong enough to hold the read bean in. It gets a plus for using milk instead of creamer, but a minus for not being shaken. Odd to be handed a tea and told to stir up up before drinking it. $5 for the milk tea + tapioca and fairly sweet/thick tasting. Best shaved ice place in Austin! Finally some authentic, real snow flaky shaved ice cream that just melts in your mouth. My favorite is the ingeolmi and red bean, the OG bingsoo. Their takoyakis are also fantastic - the crunchy outside goes so well with the smooth and warm filling inside (my favorite is red bean). Injeolmi ice wasn't with actual Korean dduk (or Korean sweet rice cake) but with cheap mochi pieces that you get at yogurt shops or other "Americanized" shaved ice places with just soybean powder topping.
