This review is only for their boba, I haven't tried the other items on their menu. If you're looking for boba, go next door to Tea Haus. We ordered a mango boba. First of all, it doesn't say anywhere on their menu that the drink would be a slushee, we were expecting a mango flavored tea. Second of all, just look at this photo. Wtf is this. Went here for some after dinner desserts. This is located in an area with lots of other Asian restaurants, so it's very conveniently located to grab something sweet after a meal. Between 6 people, we got 2 medium sized bingsu. The first one was the assorted fruit and the other was oreo. Between the two, the assorted fruit was definitely more my style and felt like the fruity flavors complimented the shaved ice more than the oreo. The food and service is always great! The rice balls are inexpensive and delicious, and the bingsu is nice and refreshing as well. I recommend the fried chicken onigiri, the shrimp tempura onigiri, and the ingeolmi bingsu! The only negative thing I have to say is that the drinks here are not the best. The boba is overly sweet and watered down, and the teas are iced versions of tea bags you probably have at home. Overall, this is a cute inexpensive place to take your friends, and a nice place to stop and eat after all your shopping around the district. So 2 days ago... 3/18 we came in for some drinks. My friend ordered the Taro tea with less sugar and I ordered the blueberry smoothie. Her drink was great but I was watching the Hispanic lady making my drink and noticed she used her HAND to scoop the last bit of the smoothie into the cup.... Then washed her hands in the sink with the blender. No, she wasn't wearing gloves. I almost said something but I didn't because I wasn't 100% sure, honestly thinking back there was nothing around her for her to scoop the smoothie with, not a spoon for sure because she would have had to wash the spoon with the blender but she only washed the blueberry smoothie off with the blender... if you order a smoothie, be sure to keep an eye on how it's made lol. Walking in during the evening, the ambiance was very bright. The signage inside was cute and I'm sure had good intentions, but for some reason it felt really harsh to look at. My friend and I had to carefully angle ourselves so we wouldn't have to look at the bright lighting. We ordered a green tea bingsu, which was served in a small paper bowl. I saw some other had metal bowls which we were envious of but I think may have been from larger sizes orders. I'm not too familiar with this type of shave ice, but it seems that most of it is just that, and that the top has the matcha, red bean, and mochi toppings. The bottom also had some red bean as well. We officially have a new go to dessert spot. For the past two years, when ever we would be sitting at home and start craving a dessert, we would always go get frozen yogurt. I can finally say that this no longer the case. I had never had this type of dessert before but the pictures just looked way to amazing to not give it try. OMG! Even better than I remember. Small restaurant but with a decent amount of seating. The rice ball was SO fresh. Had the spicy salmon, spicy tuna, and imitation crab meat rice ball. I finally was able to try this place out and I've been missing out!!! I had the mochi bingsu with red beans and it tasted just like the bingsu I used to get in Korean town Japan. I highly recommend the bingsu here if you're a bingsu fan like me. The taiyaki was pretty good as well. The batter seems a bit different than the ones in Japan as it tasted more buttery like croissant versus traditional taiyaki batter. One thing I love about this place is that it's self service so you don't gotta worry about tipping. You order your food, come get it when you're called and clean up yourself when you're done. Of course, I had to get binsu, aka Korean shaved ice, on a cold day because why not? I like being cold. I had a craving for something sweet and I wanted to try something different. So look no further than a different kind of shaved ice. Located in the same shopping mall as 99 Ranch and Kura, I decided to try it. This is really good shaved ice. The shaved ice is mixed in with some sort of cream but not to the point it would be ice cream. Put in bits of fruit, in my case I ordered the mango, and whipped cream and voila you have a binsu. I had a small just in case I wasn't going to like it. If you are unsure, I recommend trying small. Now since I like binsu, I will order a large next time. They also serve rice balls, coffee and boba here too. Just in case you are not in the mood to trying binsu. They offer discounts to students, police and military. While I do not have a lot of experience with onigiri, also called rice balls, I believe the ones here to be delicious and often recommend people to come here. Its one of my favorite places to stop for lunch or a quick dinner on the go. I would pay anything for these rice balls but the price point is perfect for what you're getting. As a natural creature of habit I do not stray away from my salmon rice ball order, they are just so good it feels criminal to try something new. Let's say if you wanted anything better than basics their pricing makes NO SENSE. $8-9 for Milk Tea made from powder? No adjusting for sweetness? Boba is an extra dollar? Smoothies going for $9 after tax. If you were to come here, order the combos, and a la carte items that are decently priced. I think whoever is in charge of procurement, pricing, and marketing is really off here. Things I enjoy here: their unagi rice roll, their shrimp tempura rice roll, thei sifts shell crab rice ball, their lemon teas.... Great little shop. We stopped in after having dinner at Sazan. Thought we would get a little something sweet after our delicious dinner. We ordered the Oreo Bing Soo and two milk teas. The bingsoo was perfect. Our toddler loved it and are most of it herself with a little help from her dad and I. The shop is cute, clean, modern. The service is friendly and quick. Others complained about the taiyaki not being crispy but ours was! Red bean was good and not too sweet. Oreo Bing Su (large $11.95+$0.99 cheesecake)- this was enough to share among 4 of us, however $13 for a dessert is a lot, especially since it's just ice! It wasn't THAT large. I didn't realize this restaurant had opened, until I made the trip to go visit the Daiso store. I stopped by for lunch and noted the name change to: Snow Ball Rice Ball". I suppose this name change is because their "rice ball" business is substantial and it's not just a " dessert café". So, I had lived in Tokyo for period of time and loved going to the convenient store to buy a rice ball (Onigiri). I have missed that quick snack and was pleased this place had opened up! I had to stop by and order the Onigiri! I ordered a Bento box and rice balls to go (since I'm still not comfortable eating in a restaurant in the middle of a pandemic!) I ordered the delicious pork Katsu bento that came with a double layer of pork katsu, rice, small salad with fruit and a deep-fried Gyoza (potsticker).. it was a great lunch with the generous amount of pork Katsu, that was crispy and cooked to perfection. I also ordered their wonderful onigiri. I ordered one filled with salmon, one with beef and a an excellent soft shell crab. The soft shelled crab rice ball, was definitely the best I've had in a long time. Also, the salmon had a generous amount of salmon and the beef was very flavorful and delicious. Additionally, I bought two of the rice rolls: salmon and spicy tuna. They made a great late evening snack! This is seriously the most disgusting boba I have ever had. I can't understand how a business can even ruin boba this bad. I can not explain the amount of disappointment I received when tasting both my Thai Tea boba and my Taro boba. First of all, you can't receive them blended because they are "premade" (??) and second off the boba tastes like flour and is stringy/powdery at the bottom of your drink. This is a wonderfully cute and clean spot for dessert! I've been here numerous times and found the desserts consistently made and delicious. My favorite shaved snow is the injeolmi, which is tteok (like mochi) covered in soybean powder- it's not too sweet and has a fresh earthy grain taste to it. I'm not sure how to make it sound more appealing but i love it! The large size is $12 but it is shareable for 3-4 people. Their other main dessert is taiyaki, a filled pastry shaped like a fish. It's not the traditional pancake-like consistency, but rather like a croissant! I really enjoy it because it's made fresh to order and it's super flakey and rich. I went with the two rice ball + drink combo. There is a surcharge based on what you get, for example I got the salmon for both rice balls which cost more than the listed price, similarly bubble tea as my drink added more cost. The riceballs were pretty good, the salmon smelled relatively fresh and the riceballs were pretty delicious. The bubble tea however was absolutely horrible. I've had taro bubble tea from several places in Austin and this was the first time I've been so disappointed, even the pearls (boba) were hard and chewy. Several of them were stuck together and wouldn't go through the straw. Overall a less than satisfactory experience. read more

The bingsoo is great! Love love love that the bingsoo comes in different sizes, so you can actually eat one by yourself! The small is also enough to share with another person. Also halfway through the bingsoo, they have another layer of whatever toppings you ordered, so that was really nice. I tried the injeolmi and the green tea, and liked both of them! The taiyaki is pretty good. Got sweet potato the first time and ham and cheese the second time. The dough is AMAZING - perfectly golden brown and crispy, and the taste is soooo good. It's kind of savory, I think there's parmesan in the dough? My complaint is that the ham had a horrible chemical taste, I wonder if it was expired? I'd say definitely try the taiyaki, but maybe not the ham and cheese one. I can't wait for the custard one to be on the menu, it's said 'coming soon' for awhile now! Snowy Village Dessert Cafe specializes in Bingsu, and for my visit, we got the medium assorted fruit bingsu to share amongst our group of 4. The assorted fruit bingsu comes with milk flavored snow, mangos, strawberries, blueberries, and a scoop of ice cream on top. I didn't find the snow to have too much flavor, so they're relying on the fruit to provide the majority of it. However, they give you a good amount of fruit, so it's easy to balance your fruit to snow ratio, and they also mix some fruit in with the snow as you get closer to the bottom, so you don't end up running out. The portion size was perfect to share amongst four people, so I believe the price was worth it. I would come back if I was in the Austin area. read more
