Snuffers is a Dallas institution and we are lucky to have one up in Plano. We went there after softball, the first day it was open. The staff was very friendly. This used to be one of our favorite burger places. When they closed the Preston Road location in Plano we were quite sad. We got excited when they recently reopened in the same shopping center, though not the exact location. Sadly, it is not what it used to be. The ambiance is not good and the service has declined greatly. The cheddar fries were great, as they used to be, and the burger was ok, though somehow missing some of its former glory. love this location! i've only ever sat at the bar. they have TVs everywhere so when sports are on, it's a great place to be, especially when sean is working behind the bar! i also enjoy they have the beyond burger, although their fries and regular bun aren't vegan. sean told me that you can get the beyond patty on sourdough though, which is perfect for vegans who want to enjoy some drinks and dinner while taking in a game! i appreciate how knowledgeable sean is about what is and is not vegan at this location, because vegans enjoy beer, sports, and burgers too! read more

We have been to this location multiple times. Today was the worst experience I have ever had. We ordered cheddar fries (no seasoning) and drinks. It took 30 minutes to get the drinks. 15 minutes later we got the cheddar fries with a ton of seasoning. We did not see our server again for a while. We were trying to order food. Once we found him, we ordered. After another 30 minutes, we asked for a manager. The manager refused to come out. We found the server once more and asked for the check. We never received our food or spoke to the manager. We were extremely disappointed in our experience. read more

The service was horrible, food was cold and had to wait 20+ minutes for our beers. The waitress was trying to accommodate but the entire situation was out of her control. The bartender seemed to disappear every time a drink order was made. The manager tried to compensate but it was just a ridiculous situation. To be in the hospitality business means your customers come first. We have visited this location several times, and the service was poor then as well. We enjoy Snuffer's food and drinks, so that may very well be the last visit to that location for me. I will try another location next time read more

We Especially love the Tuesday special. You get a wonderful half pound cheeseburger cooked to the doneness of your choice for $5.00. 6 of us come once or twice a month for the burger specials on Tuesday night. Usually it's ok but the last 2 times have been a real let down and last night it hit bottom. Of the 6 of us only my burger was edible! The beef was cooked medium rare as I requested. The fries on the other had were dreadful! Cold, stubby, dried out and I'm the verge of burnt! We arrived at 5:30 and at 6:40 we got our food! No silverware or napkins, no ice in the diet Coke's. One arrived late and our server never even asked her if she wanted water. He just ignored her! We asked upfront for separate checks and they were all out on one check. We had a 7:10 movie so we had 13 minutes to eat! The other 5 burgers were cold and all booked well done but ordered medium.snd medium rare. Another server helped out our waiter and she was snarky and acted like she was doing us a favor bringing our food out 1 hour and 10 minutes after we ordered. .we are done. I'm definitely glad to have Snuffer's back in Plano. They have only been open a few days and they're trying hard but still have some kinks to work out. It wasn't super busy and they were having issues in the kitchen. Our cheddar fries came out first which was our request. We asked that the kids meal come out first as well (grilled chicken strips and fries). It didn't. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. She noticed, apologized, and went to get my child some fries. Our burgers took longer than usual to come out. The manager came by and let us know about the kitchen issues and apologized. A few minutes later he returned and apologized again and thanked us for coming in. Finally burgers came out. I requested well done and it was medium and the bun was getting soggy. I sent it back and a few minutes later got the burger I asked for. It was good but the patty didn't taste like the usual Snuffer's patty. My child's meal was finally brought out. By then he had filled up on fries and didn't want the chicken. We took it home. The manager did comp us and cut our check in half. I appreciate the service and that they were trying to make it right. I gave 4 stars instead of 3 because I believe they will get better. I will give them a couple weeks and hopefully it will improve. Also the staff is a mixture of new and veteran employees. There you will always get high energy and amiable attention. 11 months out of the year, my favorite is the swiss cheese mushroom burger. For those of if who love the old snuffers, the new location on Preston was a welcome sight. I waited until the buzz settled and could actually get a table. Went there for lunch on Labor Day and too my wife, daughter and grandson. So here's the good: the menu hasn't changed much. For the bad: service was terrible ( I do realize that is very subjective). The cheese fries that I remember being so good were horrible. Very greasy and soggy. The club was abysmal with almost no meat hidden between soggy triple layers of bread. The chicken club had an awe full flavor that left a bad after taste. Needless to say it did not get eaten. Overall, this place is a far cry from the glory days of snuffers in the past. I was so eager to try this place, sadly the service was horrible!!! There were 3 other servers attending us because our server only went to say hi, take the tab, and pick it up. A server walking by took our order after waiting half an hour as we expected our original server to return. Then apparently something was going on in the kitchen where we had to wait at least another 30 min and our order had to be given to the manager to ensure our food would be out soon! Oh actually our original server did stop by later saying it took long because of the 2 well done burgers we ordered. lol seriously?! That only takes 1 more minute. Very disappointing meal. Went there with my husband and two girls. First problem, my kids food arrived almost 15 minutes after we received our food. Unacceptable for small kids. Then, the waiter comes out sans says they ran out of chicken fingers and had to cook more. Anyhow, not very acceptable that kids food should come so late. Basically messed up the meal because kids were irritable and hungry. Biggest problem: was that my husband's burger was very under cooked and had large pieces of bone/grizzle in it. We let the waiter know who proceeded to tell us they had that problem a lot lately that the meat hasn't been good and bone and grizzle has been in their patties(and manager was aware). This didn't make us feel better. We asked for the manager to let the manager know, he came over and was very defensive and not very helpful. While he took the hamburger off our check, he was not very apologetic or nice and was very defensive. There are a lot of burger joints in Dallas area so why would we go to one that had poor service and poor food. Not a good experience food wise or customer service wise. Disappointing. read more

Honestly, I'm all in all just really annoyed right now. Me and my bestfriend ordered food on Favor from here. We ordered the Loaded cheese fries, loaded nachos, chips and queso, and the chicken fried chicken. We waited for well over an hour for it to get here even though it's literally not even half a mile from us. Our favor driver kept texting us apologizing because of how long our food was taking to cook. We were patient and just like ahh it's okay it'll be worth it; only for half of our food to be missing. No mashed potatoes, no gravy, no veggies for the chicken, literally just the chicken. Add on to that, no chips and queso to be found. I called and was like "hey, half our food is missing?" And Macy was like oh okay, i forgot to put it in. I'll have it for you at the bar. The whole point of Favor is so that I don't have to turn around and leave to go get stuff they forgot in the first place but I digress. I leave to go get it and get home and there's the queso and vegetables and mashed potatoes, but no chips to eat it with? Not even an apology for me having to personally drive up there or offering to make it better in any sort of way? Definite bs. Especially considering the food was cold upon original arrival. Snuffer's has been a favorite for years including through the ownership change. We still love the food quality but customer service has truly disappeared. We've been to the Plano location several times and there continues to be a problem at that location. I ordered takeout this evening. My husband is hospitalized and we decided to watch the Super Bowl with cheese fries and a burger. When I picked up the order, I told the bartender I was taking it back to a hospital and I asked for ketchup which he put in the sack. When I got to the room; we had no napkins, no plastic ware, no jalapeños (ordered on the side). The location was not busy at all with servers sitting around visiting with each other. The last time we dined in, the service from our server was terrible; she never refilled drinks among other issues and we could see her visiting other servers in the back. We reported it to management on site but apparently the issues continue. read more

1st - the place does not strike me as clean. Even early on a Saturday lunch, you can see untold layers of fingerprints on the menus, the S&P shakers look like they have not been cleaned in weeks and there is no soap in the bathroom (right below the employees must wash hands sign). 2nd - it took 25 minutes for two chili dogs - per the server they take longer than other items "because they are long." When the dogs were delivered, I asked if the onions and mustard were under the dog and the server said yes. Well, mustard yes, onions no - there were no onions on that dog. The server never returned until after we were done, at which time she also offered to refill the soda that had sat empty for half the meal. Another server was out back smoking with friends and then returned straight to the service area. No idea how a place that has been in business for quite a while can fail at the table stakes items. read more

Just finished a disturbing experience at this location. I couldn't help but feel my wife and I were trapped in an episode of Restaurant Impossible. Came in and sat down in a booth near the bar (which was dirty.) After about 5 minutes, bartender called over to say he would serve us. After another 5-10 minutes of inaction, we got up and looked for another table. Couldn't find a clean booth (half were dirty and there was a really bad bleach/sweat smell in the dining room) so we went back to the original one in the bar. Bartender did come over but wiped down the table with a couple of dry paper bar napkins? Didn't really seem to do the job. My wife suggested we order everything at once to try to speed things up if and when a waiter showed up. The bartender did come over in another 5 minutes or so to take our order and asked if we wanted a happy hour drink. I asked him what was in a Snufferita. He said he didn't really know since it comes to the bar pre-mixed. I decided to stick with iced tea since the bartender had such little knowledge or confidence. We ordered cheese fries, a chicken sandwich, and a classic burger. He brought out forks wrapped in napkins. A waitress delivered the drinks when he didn't deliver them after another 5-10 minutes. One unwrapped fork had a large piece of lettuce stuck to it. We motioned over the waitress who took the fork without comment but didn't replace it. Fries came out about 10-15 minutes later and sandwiches about 10 minutes after that. We're now 45 minutes in. My wife commented (after I had also mentally noted) that there was no seasoning on the fries, just fries and cheese. I have been regularly going to the Greenville (and also Midway) Snuffers since 1985 and knew it wasn't right. Not cold or terrible, just no seasoning at all. My wife mentioned this to the waitress when she delivered the sandwiches, asking if the recipe had changed. She said "they are supposed to be seasoned, it's on the fries before the put the cheese on" and walked off. My hamburger was OK (seemed fresh) but the chicken sandwich again had no seasoning whatsoever. Tasted to both of us like boiled chicken on a bun. My wife literally took two bites and refused to eat any more. While we were waiting between the fries and the sandwiches, I looked out over the dining room. Absolutely nothing was happening. No food or drinks being served or waiters talking to anyone despite 6 or 7 occupied tables. One waiter put in an order for 2 beers at the bar from one of the tables. The bartender instead left to gather information from a woman seeking work. The waiter came back after several minutes to get the beers. Then walked off again. A different waitress was standing and hugging a man in the middle of the dining room (boyfriend?, patron that left a good tip?) Needless to say, my wife said it was the worst chicken sandwich she had ever had at Snuffers (among literally a hundred) and she would never come back. Is this location on its last legs?
