We are from Houston, and while visiting a great friend, he suggested eating at village burger bar. We liked the vibe of the place, but even better was when our food came out! The burgers were so tasty, the meat was very flavorful, and the sweet potatoes fries were very good. When We're in Dallas again, we will definitely eat there again. It's been a few years since I have been to Village Burger Bar but I was in the area and wanted to grab a quick lunch. The restaurants was pretty empty but it was late afternoon, so I wasn't expecting it to be busy! I walked up to the counter and was able to order right away. After receiving my drinks, I decided to sit outside on the patio and enjoy the nice spring weather. Food arrived about 10 mins later. The onion rings were my favorite item of the meal. The sweet potato fries were good as well. The burger was good but it did taste like a frozen beef patty so I was a bit and about that because I remembered their burgers being a better quality. The frozen margarita was yummy and refreshing! I would return for the sides and drinks and try a different sandwich or a salad next time! read more

Mediocre overpriced burgers. Unable to order online without creating an account and confirming codes through email. They utilize multiple systems to place an online order but do not offer the ability to not have your data sold. For over priced bland food with limited menu options, this place has to make money a different way to survive. If this place wants to improve they would use a platform for online order placing that is not suspicious. To be honest I don't really think its worth 20 dollars for the burgers here they almost didn't add any sides until I asked and I got no drink and my meal was still almost 20 dollars and the portions aren't adding up I could find better for much cheaper which I recommend. read more

I used to go here all the time and now that I've moved back to Dallas, I was craving a burger and it was still just as good as I remembered! :) Absolutely a great place to get your burger cravings satisfied! And don't even get me started on the onion rings--battered in what I can only assume was sawdust and regret, somehow both greasy and stale, with zero seasoning except for a mysterious hint of despair. The bun? Oh, the bun. A soggy, gummy disaster that collapsed like a dying star the second you touched it, absorbing all remaining hope like a flour-based sponge of disappointment. This wasn't a burger. This was a hate crime on a plate, a culinary betrayal, a monument to failure. I have eaten there several times but this time we ordered our food to go and the results were very disappointing. The inside of the buns on both burgers were burnt black, and I do mean black. It was late Saturday night and we were starving. We happened to be in the area so my friend, Jay, recommended we pop out to this burger place. I'm usually not the first to recommend going to a burger place since I don't eat beef. However, this place was a nice surprise. It was really nice that they had the game on so I could watch some PAC-12 games and just relax. The guy who took my order was very nice and he recommended the portobello mushroom burger, so I went with that. I've had portobello burgers from other places before and my main critique is that they get so soggy and messy after only a few bites because the mushroom is so juicy. This wasn't the case here and i was able to eat it without the entire thing falling apart in my hands. Yay! The truffle fries were good, but I definitely think you can get better fries from other places like Hopdoddy's. Overall, I had a great time here, they're open late, and the food was very reasonably priced. It's worth checking out if you're looking for a solid burger and fries! read more

Ordered a build your own burger and fries. The burger was cooked a perfect medium rare as ordered. The burger was very juicy with all the correct toppings except that they added lettuce, which wasn't a big deal. The shoestring French fries were also cooked and seasoned nicely. I will definitely be back as not many places cook burgers correctly when you order medium rare. The inside is small with a couple of TVs. They have counter service, which I love. Just walk up, order your burger, get your drink, pick a seat, and before you know it...a delicious burger will appear before your very eyes. This place is unusually casual and decently priced for the area. Service was pretty fast and employees were nice. The women's bathroom was pretty gross, but this won't stop me from coming back! I got the "blue burger". It was pretty big and really good. The bun was buttered and lightly toasted on the inside. It was loaded with blue cheese crumbles and dressing. Blue cheese drippings were all over my plate and worked well for dipping my burger into. This burger was really flavorful thanks to the: blue cheese (of course), crispy bacon, and fresh avocado. I did order my burger med-well and it was way more on the well-done side. That would be my only semi-complaint. Other than that, I would absolutely get this again! Upside is shoestrings are easy to make crispy but these weren't. Second visit here and each time several vacant outside tables in desperate need of cleaning - ketchup, and condiments smeared and crumbs. I normally go to the Allen location because it's closer to me, but I went to this location to meet a friend for dinner/drinks last night. The bartenders were super friendly and made us feel welcomed. It did take a little while to get our food, but we were okay with that because we were talking/catching up. Their burgers and onion rings were amazing!
