Panang curry with chicken
Nikolai K.

Such a great Thai place! We ordered the green papaya salad, drunken noodle with chicken, and Panang curry with chicken. Everything was delicious. Loved the green papaya salad, such a nice flavor with strong fish sauce, sweetness and tangy, and quite spicy. Super fresh and delicious, one of the best Thai salads I've had. Drunken noodle was hot and delicious, great flavor and texture. Panang curry was not my favorite curry I've had - it was a bit on the sweet side and milky (still super tasty but not their favorite dish for me). Would highly recommend this place to anyone visiting!

Great flavors to satisfy your Thai cravings when visiting this town! My favorites were the drunken noodle and green papaya salad! Papaya salad was really really good! The sauce had the right mix of spice, lime, garlic and fish sauce. Drunken noodles had great flavor with plenty of peppers and protein. The Penang curry was not my favorite. Despite ordering medium spice on all our dishes, the Penang curry was on the sweet and milky/watery side.

We're in Ogunquit for vacation and had a sick toddler for a few days, so takeout was key. We happened upon So Zap in our searches and from start to finish it was extremely convenient and awesomely delicious!!! For starters, they offer online ordering on their website which is insanely convenient with an estimated time for when your order will be ready. (ours was about 5-10 mins over, which is understandable given how busy they were!) When we went to pick it up, this place was fairly large compared to your typical Thai place and very happening! We ordered the Crab Rangoon which had a nice crunch to it and was so insanely good with the fresh crab you can get around here. Next up was the Golden Bags which was absolutely delightful. The main course was Duck Tamarind which had an extremely succulent inside with a nice crunchy outside layered with the delicious tamarind sauce. The Panang Curry was awesome and really hit the spot. I highly recommend their homemade ginger beer, it has an awesome kick and was so refreshing! Don't sleep on this place whether you're looking for dine in or takeout, it's better than any other Thai place we've been!

Had a great time at So Zap located in Ogunquit Maine. We were here on a family vacation and heard amazing things about this spot so we decided to check it out. We got crab Rangoon, a Panang vegetable curry and chicken money bags, all were delicious! This place also had a Thai iced tea that was absolutely incredible. Would go back just for that!

(4.5 stars) Stopped in here for a really late lunch after some hiking over at Mt. Agamenticus and this couldn't have hit the spot more. I get Thai food at home pretty much twice a week so I couldn't pass up trying this place when shopping in Ogunquit. The appetizers honestly were the standouts dishes of the meal. The sauce for the spring rolls was unforgettable, the wings and chili sauce were so crispy yet flavorful with the sweet sauce drizzled on, and the chicken satay was grilled beautifully and so light even with the peanut sauce. The mains were stellar too, the fried rice for us a bit more than the pad see ew but both you couldn't go wrong with. I just wish ordering the dishes hot turned out spicier than it was, it felt closer to medium so if you're looking for heat, go for the very hot.

"So Zap. So good." That's the slogan of this restaurant, and it is completely accurate. I went to So Zap for dinner tonight, and because of how popular it is, I had to wait for 40 minutes for my table. Still, I can't blame the place for being popular, and I can see why. I ordered the pad thai with beef. When it first arrived, I noticed that it didn't look exactly like the other pad thai dishes I've had in the past at different restaurants. However, this one was definitely one of (if not the) tastiest pad thais I've ever had. After the entrée, I ordered the coconut ice cream for dessert. I was expecting a plain scoop of ice cream on a plate, but was in for a very pleasant surprise. The homemade ice cream was presented very nicely in a bowl, and came with sweet pumpkin pieces, palm seeds, and a sesame coconut crunchy roll. This was so unique and so tasty. This ice cream is a must-have for anyone dining at So Zap. The service speed was average, and the waitress only got me my ginger ale once I reminded her after my actual food came. Still, service overall was good, as the waitress and other waiter who served us were super friendly. In addition, I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant and the decor, both in the indoor seating area and the outdoor area. All in all, I would highly recommend So Zap to anyone looking for a great Thai restaurant in Ogunquit, but be prepared to wait for a table, especially during the busier times of the year, such as the summertime.

Every time we come to Ogunquit, we eat at So Zap! The food is fresh and delicious and the service is usually very good. This time, two of us arrived for dinner around 830 and we were seated right away. The place was packed but there wasn't a line at that hour. There is a full bar with some very good cocktails, though this visit we didn't get any. For appetizers, we started with the papaya salad (2 out of 5 spice level) and Thai dumplings. The papaya salad was fresh and crunchy with a nice little spice kick; it does not come with shrimp. Small portion easily split by two people. The Thai dumplings were hearty, with a dense meat filling. They were flavored well and the sweet soy sauce that accompanied it was very good. They usually have dinner specials. The lobster pad Thai is very good, with a good portion of lobster and a unique presentation. Tonight, they had the lobster pad Thai special as well as a crispy duck udon noodle drunken special. The waitress confirmed that it was crispy duck atop udon noodles with drunken noodle sauce. For dinner, I inquired if they could do the crispy duck, but atop the regular drunken noodle dish. She checked with the chef and they could (for the special price which was $5 more than the shrimp drunken noodles). The dish came out and it was plated so nicely with a good portion of Thai basil. The duck was crispy on the edge and the meat was so moist and tender. The dish had a lot of vegetables, which I appreciated. For dessert, they have ice cream. We opted for a scoop of coconut and a scoop of black sesame. A light and tasty end to a great meal. Without thinking twice, this is a definite recommendation for Ogunquit!

Very nice place. Walked over from the hotel and found this place. Looked like a quaint place. So we pretty much ordered everything on the menu. For sure every appetizer on the menu. They were all great! The Thai Ice Tea was very good. Had great taste. The crab frosted rice had large chunks of crab which was nice and tasted great. The only thing is I have been to a lot of Thai Restaurant's and this is up there. My only real complaint is that the the main dishes for the flat noodles is that they all seemed to be a bit on the sweeter side which for some people will love it. This is just more of a personal preference. We also pretty much tried one of each entrée. Wow with all the food that we had ordered it came out super fast. Service I must say was very good. The waitress Lily we had was very efficient and brought everything we needed quickly. Great service and good food. Will for sure return.

We all gos our drinks and placed our orders in and my daughter and mother in law got their food. Papaya salad and chicken skin. The chicken skin was amazing especially with the sauce. Really enjoyed the sticky rice which looks hard but isn't. I ordered the Pad Kra Pao with pork but Pho came in and I told them we didn't ordered that. Then an order of crab Rangoons came which we didn't order and we list let it sit on our table and about 10 min went by and we decided to eat it since I was getting hungry. I sat there for about an hour waiting for my food then the owner came out to show me what she wrote down and we crossed everything off that came then she said it would be coming out. Another 20 min pass and they deliver my food which was wrong again lol... I laughed it off because I know they're trying but I didn't send it back since I was getting hangry. All the food was great, they just need to get a better system from taking orders and getting those orders to the chef and brining the items to the correct table. To top it off, she gave us our recipe and that was all wrong as well. Like I said the food is amazing just getting what you ordered was the hard part. I hope to give this place a try but not sure yet.

Got orange chicken, pad Thai and drunken noodle. Finding the spot isn't difficult. Parking behind it is a bit strange but offers a way into the restaurant from the back which is great. Staff, only met 1 fella who was very nice. Food was ready in about 15min which was awesome. Orange chicken - sauce is delicious and addictive. Chicken itself was a bit lacking in flavor. The amount of veggies and sauce was great. Pad Thai - while it didn't look very eye catching the flavor is what really jumped out. Having had Thai from many places, this one stood out. Ordered the seafood combo version and amount of seafood was actually surprising. Good amount. Drunken noodle - got this with chicken. Another flavor bomb. It's their main attraction. Pillowy and the perfect size to carry all the fillings. $10 for one of these bad boys and that may seem a little on the higher side for a bun but this thing was packed. I'd pay that again in a heart beat. The pork belly was cooked well. The fat was rendered perfectly and it was tender. If they did it roasted and got it a little crisp, boy it'd be a 10/10 but honestly, the freshness from the pickled onion, the cilantro and the sauce they used on it was all wonderful.
