I sent Soapy Joe's an email message last month, requesting that they cancel my membership and cease from collecting any more payments, including a payment that would have otherwise been due on March 27th. Before making that request, I tried to cancel my membership using Soapy Joe's website, but the only way to cancel a membership is via email or via telephone. I also tried to cancel my membership by calling the phone number posted on their website during business hours, but the call was transferred to a voice message stating that they were closed. Instead of cancelling my account, I received an email message with boiler plate language about their reduced hours and lack of services due to COVID-19. In addition, Soapy Joe's took a monthly payment after I requested that my membership be cancelled. I requested that my membership be cancelled because during the first couple of weeks of March, I drove to Soapy Joe's locations in the San Diego area and found that they were closed because, according to the managers, the car washes were not working properly. Those claims were a sham. It was obvious that Soapy Joe's was closing locations early last month because they didn't yet have a plan to deal with COVID-19. In addition, Soapy Joe's has drasticallly reduced its hours but they still advertise online that they're open from 7:00 am until 9:00 pm. I get it - business is slow because people aren't driving as much, especially ride share drivers, but that's no excuse for defrauding customers and falsely advertising that they are open when they're not. read more

Today after I left the car wash, there was an employee (with eye glasses) who blocked me from using an empty cleaning spot in front of me for no apparent reason. So I just left. When I was leaving I saw a girl who was in a car behind me going into that spot. This told me that the employee must've saved that spot for another customer. No matter who she is, I just feel that they are treating customers differently. Very disappointed. read more

So fast and easy. You drive in, drive out all nice and clean. The only part is making sure you get there at a time when there isn't too many people waiting in line. I really appreciate the service there. People are always smiling and helping you. If you don't have a membership and need to pay, there is usually an attendant there to help you. You drive out of the car wash and need to find a spot to towel dry the rest of your car. They also have vacuums for you to use to clean out the inside. :) It's a quick and easy way to get your car washed. The cheapest wash is about $10. read more

Soapy Joe's is where I always go to get my car wash but yesterday I got such wonderful customer service even tho it was a busy afternoon. First Makiya helped me pull into the car wash and assisted me with picking a good wash for my car. She also told me about the car wash membership, and although I did not purchase it she did inform me if I change my mind i can come back within 7 days and receive a discount on a membership. After her great help, once I was done with the car wash it was busy and none of the vacuum spaces were available. But another service attendant saw a spot open up and waited in it to save it for me as a drove around to pull into the spot. Everyone's nightmare, I left my keys and wallet in the car and hit the lock button with the vacuum. All my belongings were locked in my car. I went to the front office and spoke with Bryan and he was very approachable and friendly. He kindly gave me his office phone and even allowed me to put his cell phone number as a call back for my roadside. This car wash is complete trash there is never anyone on site that will awnser questions about broken parts the disabled stall has been broken for weeks and I am a 20 year vet that's confined to a wheelchair and was told I could receive no help when I come there even to assist me trying to get into a stall that best helps me so iv ended my membership at this site the number that is given is just a recorded machine so that's a waist of time my recommendation if you have a disability plz don't bother getting a membership here because they will only shun you away with no help. read more

I purchased a gift card myself here several months ago for the first time it was 6 washes for 50$ for the average joe. The male attendant was very helpful and kid. Today Friday, November 15 I went back to use the gift card and the wonderful female worker was so kind to me and really put my smile on my face. She was walking around to make sure everything was running smoothly. Bonus every wash comes with a car scent that always smells soooo amassing! Best self car wash out there! I've owned a Soapy Joes membership since I've owned a driver's license and as someone who takes pride in having very clean vehicles this place never disappoints. Open from 7am-9pm makes it so convenient for me AND they have super great membership unlimited wash programs starting at $15 a month, used to pay $40 a week for every one of my cars! Do the math here guys it is worth it. I got my entire family hooked and we all have very clean cars and all love going here to Soapy Joes SM. Speaking of which , I should mention that you'll find a fantastic team of employees led by Pablo at the San Marcos location. Friendly, approachable, and professional is how I would describe the staff there! I've been to the other soapy joes locations such as in Oceanside but I feel that the San Marcos location goes above and beyond. Go check them out yourself! The staff are friendly, today I had a staff named Maurice guide me to make sure my wheels were in the correct alignment with the car wash so it can go through without issues. he game me a soapy Joe's car freshener and was very polite. I recently went to this location and my car was super dirty. I was helped by one of their workers named Caleb. There was an issue with there card reader and he efficiently and politely got it sorted out. my car came out super clean. This is one of the best drive thru car washes I have received. So I finally stopped being lazy and went to the location in Mira Mesa. I drove up to the machine, waiting for it to scan the sticker on my car and the arm thing to raise. It never raised and finally I called an attendant. He told me my card wasn't on file since the I wrote the initial flipping post! I was super annoyed and paid my $7 so I can move on in life. I mean I was sitting in the line for a good 15 mins!! However, why the Hell did I go to San Marcos and update my card info if things aren't going to get done properly and accurately the first time?!?! Why do I want my time wasted like that? I don't!! So this whole 9 months I thought things were set and they really weren't. I went to soapy Joe's car wash on Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. I had a very pleasant experience This was my first time here. A very nice young black man who was operating the car wash saw I was in distress. He cheerfully came over showed me how to work the machine slowly. Then put in the cash and gave me the ticket. The last car wash I experienced we will just say the were not pleasant at all. I went thru the car wash till the end and couldn't get my car to go over the bump. Guess who to the rescue again. I was so impressed with this young man that I asked to see a manage. Went in after some off roading in the the desert, just dust and sand, to get their premium wash and "special " wax treatment. Was considering a membership but wanted to try them out first. I understand that it's a drive through machine wash but for the money it was the worst wash I've ever had. The entire rear of my car, Land Rover discovery, was exactly as it was before I went in. There was dirt all over the sides and the tire hubs were only cleaned in a couple of places that looked more like scrapings. All in all I'll never go back, waste of money, I was trying to save some time but in the end a hand wash is less expensive and less time consuming. Don't waste your money on their hype! read more
