A must-stop brunch location in downtown Greenville. I visited on a busy Sunday morning but did have reservation prior and faced no wait time even with arriving about 30 minutes earlier than the reservation time. This reimagined southern fare menu has a pleaser for each palate type. I enjoyed the classic pimento cheese deep as a starter and two unique entrees - fried green tomatoes eggs Benedict and a delicious frittata. Food was amazing. The venue was a bit loud with all the activity and some other more boisterous guests, but I wouldn't hold that against the establishment. Overall, Soby's is a staple location in Greenville that comes highly recommend and I don't think you would be disappointed for stopping in.

Great service. Nice ambiance. Delicious food. We had a big party (20+) for a weekend brunch celebration, and everything went smoothly!

We decided to try Soby's and ended up taking our waiter's suggestion to do the half and half, which included a half portion of the crab cake and a half portion of the shrimp and grits. I'm so glad we listened as both dishes were great. The crab cake was definitely more crab than cake, which is always a good sign, and the creamed corn underneath was delicious. The green beans were fresh and perfectly cooked. The shrimp and grits were also spot on. The grits were creamy and well-seasoned, and the shrimp came with sausage that added just the right amount of flavor. It had a little spice but nothing overpowering. For dessert, we tried the sweet potato cheesecake, and it honestly tasted just like sweet potato pie. The mandarin oranges on the side added a nice citrusy finish that balanced it all out. Overall, it was a great meal and we would definitely come back.

I would like to live closer to Soby's just so I can have the banana cream pie more often. Seriously. Best banana cream pie ever. Of course, I did eat other things. We started off in the bar for a cocktail while we waited for one of the big booths--it's the south, so there was loud sportsball on the TVs, which wasn't my favorite. However, service was good and the drinks were well prepared. We were soon seated in our booth, and service from Brion (not sure of the spelling, sorry!) was appropriately charming Southern! Because we wanted to try a lot of things, he kindly suggested a half portion on the shrimp and grits so we could have an appetizer size serving. We loved that dish, as well as the fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, and fried chicken. But have I mentioned pie? Anyway, I would go back in a heartbeat.

We sat outside and we were able to enjoy the city center. The food was divine. I highly recommend the white chocolate Boston cream pie.

We love Sobys. Upscale southern cooking. It's always solid. Huevos rancheros was really good- It could have used a little more sauce but really flavorful. Eggs Benedict with pimento cheese fondue- great.

Ah the goat. This is the paragon for Greenville restaurants. All the dishes are well-made, the presentation is sufficient, and the service is spot-on. Of course, the area is kept clean and well-maintained. To give an example of the service, their training server overheard me and my then-girlfriend, now fiancee, talk about sharing the shrimp and grits. So, she asked the kitchen to split up the portion ahead of time to allow both of us to hand a good looking dish. It's those little things that set restaurants apart and this is one of them. It's fairly vegetarian friendly, though it can work on that.

All I can say is incredible! Atmosphere, service and food is best in Greenville. Fried green tomatoes and shrimp and grits are to die for. Reserve a spot because this place is popular for all the right reasons.

A true southern staple. The restaurant is very well designed and the staff was excellent. Of course I was here for the food and they are famous for their shrimp and grits. Did not disappoint ! Those grits and cheesy and buttery, but the shrimp were what stole the show. Probably the best shrimp and grits I've ever had.

Solo dined here the other night for my first time in Greenville and it was lovely! Inside was very vibey, dimmed and "candle-lit!" Absolutely loved my waiter too he was so polite and extremely attentive! Started off with some complimentary cheddar and garlic biscuits which were yummy! I ordered the Berry Calm mocktail (super good) and the Fried Chicken with truffle mac & cheese and broccolini. The chicken was crisp and delicious with a touch of hot honey. The Mac was okay - creamy, but I did not taste the truffle! Would definitely come back next time I'm in downtown Greenville!

Great menu, delicious food and a banana cream pie that is bar none the best I have ever had (and I have tried some really good banana cream pie). The crab cakes entree was amazing - cooked to perfection and nestled on bed of mashed potatoes and a creamy corn sauce.

Service, food, and ambiance was great! We came for brunch and couldn't pass up the $3.01 mimosas or Bloody Marys. The breakfast potatoes were well seasoned and we enjoyed the eggs Benedict. Only disappointing part was the coffee - it was so light it was see through and not strong at all. Other than that, great experience.

I love that they constantly have new menu items and features so you can keep coming back again and again for something new. This last time, I ordered some sweet potato pancakes (that must have been a special because I can't find them on the menu now) and they were SO GOOD!!! They had nuts in them and they were not too sweet which was surprising in the best way. My wife got the classic chicken and waffles and loved them and our 3rd wheel got an omelet. He cleaned the plate so we know it was realllll good. We also got the fried okra as an app for the table and we were all big fans. The sauce took them over the top on flavor. We have never had an issue with the service. They've always been communicative and friendly, offering great suggestions on the menu. I love the inside of the restaurant. I was hungry and didn't know what or where to eat, not like there is a lack of options, but did I want ramen or something more local in regional flare? I picked the second one. I ended up at Tupelo Honey because fresh southern fried chicken sounded amazing and this place wasn't going to break the bank. I guess this place is a chain but I didn't know this until I was eating. The staff were beyond friendly and attentive and they answered all of my questions about the food. The restaurant was super clean. I ended up ordering the half bird with original seasoning on it. The seasoning the put on it is a crystallized honey power and something else in it, it gives the chicken a nice sweet flavor but not overpowering. They also have a spicy version for you spice lovers. The half bird came with 4 pieces as one would expect, the crust was crispy and the chicken was awesome. I was eating the dark meat and couldn't get over how juicy it was. The real test as you all know is the breast, is that going to be dry? Nope, it was so moist and flavorful, it was a home run. I guess they brine their chicken for some good amount of time and it shows. My sides though I wish I would have gotten more adventurous, the meal came with two sides so I got a salad and the fried potatoes as a recommendation from the waitress. They were good but the mac n cheese looked better. Overall this place is great and I would go again. It's right downtown and the service was fast and friendly. Great place for some fried chicken .

Since we had waited about 15 mins, we were able to provide our meal choice at the same time. The food came out about 15 to 20 mins later. It was hot, which was great but the fried chicken was very dry and the mash potatoes had no flavor. The rest of the order was just ok. Our server was zipping around trying to handle several different tables and we did understand it was busy. However, we tried 4 different times to catch her attention to ask for more tea and water. She was walking right past us and we were actively waving our hands and calling to her. On the fifth pass, she finally acknowledged us. We asked for a refill. Instead of stating she would be right back, we got a lecture as to how busy she was. But she would come back with the drinks. 20 mins later, and 4 tables of food and drinks, we gave up. We never got a refill. We waved down a very helpful busboy for a to go box. We boxed up the rest of our lunch and left so that we could have a beverage with our meal. Maybe it was the wrong day but the service was awful. Even the lady who checked us out was just down right grumpy. So much for customer service. Skip it. The food is not that great to deal with poor service.
