    Cool vibe

Highly recommended! Great overall vibe in Greenville. Great service, friendly team members. I met the owner as he was working tables and ensuring customers were being served. Quality of food and value 5 stars! Menu had multiple options, hard to decide. I had red snapper and of course couldn't refuse the $5.00 key lime pie!

Great food friendly service and reasonable prices! A nice lively atmosphere. I had a dark and stormy to start my wife had a Manhattan. The drinks were well made and they had a decent pour of the alcohol. We had the Fried Green Tomatoes to start. The portion was much larger than we expected for the price. My wife had the crab cakes and I had the seafood trio. Everything tasted great! We had no room for desert. Sorry, we started eating before the photos

First time dining. Service was attentive and timely. The scallops were flavorful and juicy. The risotto and spinach were equally as delicious. It was the perfect pairing.

No complaints here. Thought we might need a reservation since it was Friday night, but we walked right in and sat at a booth by the bar! Our waiter came over to welcome us right away. The food was delicious, and the ambiance was really nice. We even received a complimentary dessert for our anniversary!

Greenville has so many amazing dining options, and with only a few days in town, it was tough to decide where to eat. We're so glad we chose Sassafras Southern Bistro! Our experience was excellent from start to finish. It was a very cold night, so we were grateful to walk in and get a table right away with no wait. The atmosphere was cozy, and our server was attentive and friendly. For our meal, my husband ordered the fried green tomatoes as his entrée. It's one of his favorite dishes, and Sassafras's version did not disappoint! I went with the Sassafras Fried Chicken, which came with mac and cheese and roasted Brussels sprouts. The chicken was perfectly cooked, deliciously crispy, and so flavorful. But let me tell you about the mac and cheese--it was everything! The crunchy edges were just a total YES! The Brussels sprouts were roasted to perfection, adding the perfect savory touch. Our daughter ordered the Shrimp and Grits, which is her go-to dish whenever it's on the menu. She loved it. The grits were creamy and well-seasoned, the shrimp was perfectly cooked, and the sauce tied everything together beautifully. Sassafras is a must-visit if you're in Greenville. Great service, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere--what more could you ask for?

Cannot put into words how Sassafras Southern Bistro and Andrea made our son and daughter-in-law's rehearsal dinner perfect. Communication with Andrea was so easy and prompt. The room was beautiful and the food was fabulous! Service during dinner was excellent. My vision was perfectly carried out and everyone had a lovely time. Would highly recommend Sassafras for a special event in Greenville.

Sat at the end of the bar in front of a tv. I started out with a Manhattan to drink. Then I decided to try a bowl of their she crab soup. Although it hasn't arrived yet! Upon request, it's on the way! I hope they remember a spoon. She crab soup was tasty although I would have preferred more crab. For a main course I ordered the Sassafras fried chicken with spinach and mash potatoes and I add 3 blackened scallops. Some how my photo of my entree didn't take and by the time I realized it I was in the clean plate club. I ate that meal up quick! The portion was huge. The chicken was crispy and tender, stuffed and boneless. The spinach was tasty and the gravy added a sweeter taste to each bite. The scallops were tender and went well with the spinach. This was literally more food than I ate combined in the last week . It felt so good to consume such a tasty comfort meal. Martin, the owner, stopped by to check on me and my meal which I appreciated. I love a place the does the little things right and demonstrates their pride inn the food they serve: Sassafras had that and then some! I highly recommend Sassafras for locals and visitors alike.

Delicious!! Decided to do a table of appetizers. Best decision. It was so much food and we all of course shared. Service was amazing. We had the best waitress who was very attentive and one of the best we have had in a while. Ambiance is southern charm with wood doors and long tables with a covered patio. Heated to enjoy outdoor dining in warmth.

The food was excellent, and the value based on portion size was incredible. I recommend the pimento cheese fondue as a starter. Our server Sarah was awesome, and offered advice on her favorites (get the Sassafrass Southern Fried Chicken). We sat outside on the patio, evening weather was nice, allowing us to people watch and see Greenville at night.

Very good food and service. Nice ambience, excellent music on radio. Wish I didn't live so far away, as I would come more often.

Has this restaurant relocated? I heard great things about the food...so, was going to try it. Walked to it & it was no longer there. I think a dress shop took its place. Guy at Orient on Main said the guy had cashed out. Lol

Hey Charlene! We are still here, we are located within the One City Plaza so its not directly on Main street. If you visit our website under the location tab I have added walking directions as well as a map of the Plaza to better locate us! Let us…

The ambiance is charming, the menu is extensive and the service is top tier. We tried several appetizers, the pimento cheese being the best I've tried in years, while the fried green tomato's offered a very upscale twist on a comfort food dish. Already excited to go back for more!

You know the face you make when the funkiest groove hits just right? Apparently it translates through the taste buds. When you're muttering cuss words between bites, the kitchen has won. And the green beans?! I HATE green beans. My momma used to make me eat them as a kid, and I'd chase every bite with water. John was explaining how Soby's prepares theirs, but I was distracted by one thought: These fuckers made me like green beans. My only tweak next time would be hot honey on the side. It pools into the mac and cheese, and I'd rather control the sweetness myself. I loved the yelling from the kitchen, too. The Southern spirit is alive back there. Manager Adam eventually appeared with a "Ms. Coker?" Apparently word of the stank-face lady had traveled. He seemed genuinely happy that I was happy. The white chocolate banana cream pie has been on the menu since Day 1, so I ordered it and immediately saw why. Not too sweet. Just perfect. Blue ribbon, first place at the county fair all the way. Michelin also put Soby's on its list. They probably gave the stank face, too.

Apparently the Walking Dead castmate, Norman Reedus, is co-owner of this place ... hence the name. Their main specialty is burgers. But lots of variations. We ordered the appetizer of three: hummus, spinach artichoke, salmon dip. Very tasty and enough to fill you up! My beer, Delirium, was fitting for the motif of the place. Oddly, my "chicken burger" was really a buffalo chicken ranch sammmie. I LOVED how they hot ironed the name of the place on the bun.
