I went here for a late lunch, early dinner and I literally was surprised. The service was great and the food was delicious. Had the nachos with a Caesar salad with fried shrimp and the batter reminds me of Trinidad's KFC batter- yummy! Light and tasty. Well for starters my cheese omelette didn't have any cheese. Nor was it an omelette. Second of all we waited 30 mins. for our appetizers when the waiter came back to tell us there was no more chicken wings. So that made 3 things on the prixe fixe brunch menu unavailable. The music was entirely too loud. I like music I can hear. But I also like being able to hear what the waiter is saying to me. Inside was really nice besides the wall of fruit flies above my head. It was clean! That's it the bartenders looked bad and seemed bothered by helping seat me and served me! I never been to a Jamaican restaurant that allow there workers to drink rum and eat at the bar while customers wait on them. Oh my drink had hair in it long fake hair from the bartender who was too busy chatting it up and eating a plate of food at the bar to notice we wavying her down to show her ! We only tried the appetizers (they were ok but nothing remarkable) and the drinks are pretty good (loved my lychee martini!); however, it certainly does not take an hour to make that delicious lychee martini and it certainly does not take three people to get that lychee martini, and we certainly did not appreciate all the excuses received from our waitress the several times we asked for that lychee martini. On top of that, had to beg for our water glasses to be refilled and got a ton of eye-rolling and attitude in return. I'm come to this place quite often the food is excellent and so is the service I highly recommend it.

Every time i go to the restaurant it smells like feet, or just has a weird odor. On top of the smell the menu has a bunch of false advertisement. Let me explain, if you order the lobster mac n cheese.. don't expect them to have the lobster, you might get shrimp because "they dont have anymore". If you order garlic parmesan wings.. don't expect to get anything fancy because they'll just throw some bbq on the wings and sprinkle some cheese. If you want a soda or a drink that they dont have, instead of them telling you there all out of it, they'll just bring you something else and act like thats what you ordered. P.s - this is my THIRD time coming here and my mind hasn't changed about the fact that i will not be revisiting this place. read more

This restaurant is truly amazing , the food is always spectacular, especially the crab nachos with fresh peppers. My favorite nights are Sunday and Tuesday with karaoke. This is the worst place to order food. I ordered take out yesterday fried chicken and buttermilk waffle and it looked like they served me someone's leftover food. Not only it was the worst food ever, but they charged me $15.00 for it. Due to the weather being so bad, I would have taken the food back and requested a refund. I hate to throw away food, but I didn't feel comfortable eating the food, since it looked like leftovers. I also have a picture if anyone is interested in seeing it. Was told to wait by the hostess until we found our own table from a patron who was leaving. We then had to wait 20 minutes for the table to get cleaned. The service is TERRIBLE. The food is subpar, and mediocre. Hookah costs waaaay too much for it to die within 20 minutes, and the hookah girl is more focused on singing then fixing the hookah. The only great things about this place is the atmosphere brought in by the people and karaoke. The drinks are so good. Kudos to the bartender, and her only. This place is good for socializing and drinks only because they can't handle it when it's extremely busy. I'll try again later! read more

Ahhhhh I hate to do to em! They didn't have the drink I wanted, no pino grigio or riesling! Only moscato or white zinfandel.... those are the two cheapest wines. I decided to get the chicken tacos. They looked like taco night at home when you take your time, lol. The chicken itself was under seasoned and dry. Came here yesterday for a nice night out with my sis and friends. Spent a significant amount of money here on multiple drinks, appetizers and entrees but yet once the tab was closed we were asked to move from the table. They claimed they needed the table and we had to sit at the bar with remaining drinks. For what? Why not tell us that before we closed the tab? What's funny is up until that point we were having such a good time that 2 more friends came to join us and they were getting ready to order MORE food and drinks. Only to be asked to move to the bar to allow for seats to be empty? Listen, if you don't have enough space to seat your patrons, then that's a personal problem and you should have created a bigger space for your establishment. Don't rush your paying customers out after they have spent their hard earned money at your restaurant. A previous reviewer stated this as well a month ago and I have definitely experienced this behavior personally at this place. DO NOT GO HERE! Never in my life have I had that type of experience. I would rather give Island Taste a try as that place is bigger and the decor is nicer anyway. If I could give this place no stars I would the service was terrible first I came in no one greeted me it was very packed and loud for a Thursday evening at 7pm I sat at the bar for a little then finally saw someone sitting in the front I asked her if she had any available tables she shook her head no without even looking so I'm like none at all she goes no so I go back to the bar and she comes back 2 min later like come...i am following where I see a table in the back corner I'm like oh can I sit there so she goes sure 15 min later some lady is pointing at me and saying something to the waiter then she comes back and says she has to move me back to the middle table because three ppl are coming and they are regulars and they need the table mean while a waiter has never came to serve me or check in on me during this time at all so I go it's fine ok thank you. She shows 2 girls not 3 but to the table I was sitting at and they put a thumbs up at her not only did she lie but she could have politely told them some one was already sitting there as I was waiting for my friend as well I don't frequent Queens so I don't know if the is the standard for Caribbean places but this place will never get my money again ever! read more

I had a 3 pm reservation for a party of 4. We arrived at 2:54 and they were closed. Their website says they open at 3, so we sat in our car outside the door. We tried again at 3:17 p.m. and the door was still locked. Then someone came to inlock the door and she could not get the door open. Then she signed for us to use the back door/service entrance. I stopped by after work and the service was awesome. I ordered a watermelon/strawberry margarita. It was delicious!!! I also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese and the Parmesan wings to go. If I could give zero I would... Worst place EVER! Went for Sunday brunch they had nothing but chicken wings and the chicken entree... we originally ordered the shrimp entrees but they ran out. The waiter was taking shots with everyone it seems that all the servers were drunk. We ddnt get any water. The food was terrible the chicken is a dry chicken breast rolled in corn flakes YUCK!!! He never came back to check on us.The waiter threw out my food and had an attitude when I told him i wasn't done with it. The best part was we got the bill and he charged us for the shrimp they DID NOT GET... he said to pay with cash and subtract the difference. Total travesty! Will never go back! read more

Went to social corner with a few ladies just for drinks on a Monday night. I must admit it was quite busy for a Monday. Needless to say we got seated without too much of a wait. The atmosphere was good and it had a nice vibe to it plus the music was on point. The server took a while to come over to us and when she finally did she was very short with us and didnt really tend to the questions we were asking. We ordered drinks and some appetizers (we were told we couldn't get any entrees). After receiving our drinks she never checked back to make sure things were okay. I didnt like my drink at all & she took no notice to that. When the food came out I was disappointed because I told her when ordering NO tomatoes and I spotted tomatoes from a mile away. Again our food is there and she did not check on us. Then she came and instead of asking how things were she gave us the check & told us she was closing all tabs because the table that was to our left had skipped out on their bill. I was over the place at that time so I just paid the bill. We also were interested in hookah which was another headache trying to get so we gave up on that. We did hang out a little while longer and I ordered a hennessy and pineapple from the bar but to my surprise they were out of hennessy so I had grand marnier and pineapple instead. I don't know if it was just a bad day we picked but I'm not certain I would recommend or try this place again read more

Very nice ambiance especially for the area. Staff is very new... asked for surf and turf my order came out wrong (I got a lobster tail and shrimp instead.... no steak). They didn't compensate or try to return to the kitchen he basically just said it is what it is. Bartender messed up my drink and they also didn't have any of the ingredients to make most of the drinks on the menu. The food was very good, the pasta a little overdone but other than that our meals were tasty. There is definitely opportunity and I would return but hopefully they have a more knowledgeable staff and polished etiquette. read more

The food was so good but the Service sucked we moved from 2 different tables thinking someone would come provide service to us 25 minutes still didn't happen finally got 1menu from bartender. Finally waitress came and said she WOULD BE WITH US IN A MINTuE. She went and spoke with the bartender for a few minutes mean while we've been there all this time It's bad when you try to contribute to our black business and they give us some crappy service we ask for more menus. We had a bit of a issue with getting some wings that were on a special menu that ended at a certain time but we were there ready to order when we asked the bartender one menu with the specials on it and she told us that we couldn't get it because the time was up but we waited almost 30 minutes just for her to come even greet us didn't put nothing down on a table water nothing the table was already dirty before we got there but we tried to make the best of the situation My friends got drinks I wanted something diet being that I'm a diabetic no diet product something should have been in a can in the fridge so I walk to McDonald's right next door to get me a Diet Coke the server act like she don't need tip money she must be getting paid by the hour to give bad service. Social Corner isn't the kind of place you should go to if you're looking for properly mixed drinks or top notch customer service. The atmosphere is inviting but the servers display major attitude and don't pay any attention to patrons. It took 20 minutes before we were asked for our drink order after being seated near a booming speaker. The drinks were poorly mixed and the glass was half filled. I ordered a Ciroc Red Berry with Sprite and a splash of cranberry juice but I received a CocoLoso with a touch of cranberry instead. I had to ask for ice which came in a separate glass. I ordered a hookah and when it arrived, it was placed on the table in such a manner that it knocked over my drink. When I showed the hookah girl what she had done, she looked at me with a surprised look as though I spilled it myself. She had the server "fix" it but he added more ice and cranberry juice. The hookah burned my throat horribly although she tried to fix it. She said it was because I wasn't used to smoking. Clearly that wasn't the right answer but I had to excuse her ignorance. I finished my hookah and my drink before searching for my server to pay my tab. It took him another 20-30 minutes to get me my tab and 10 minutes to pick it up from the table. The music was definitely enjoyable for the adult population but that's the only thing I can say that's positive about this particular venue. I didn't have the opportunity to try the food due to the fact that the customer service was below grade. Maybe I'll try Social Corner during the day when the servers smile and leave their attitudes at the door. Needless to say, it was a bad experience and a night wasted. read more

Horrible service!!! My husband and I went with our friends. The issue started from the beginning it took forever to get water. Then when we ordered the food took forever to come out and came out wrong. My husband is very allergic to shrimp and the waiter tried to make it seems as if he husband ordered shrimp. The only time my husband says shrimp is to say he is allergic. As for the rest of the food we were missing apptz. Not to mention the drinks we ordered in the beginning when we sat down came after the food. Now I know you think the place was busy right. Ha not even 10 ppl in the place. Staff needs to be trained, Im not if they even know water glasses shouldnt be empty before the food even comes out. An empty water glass really it take 2 seconds to fill it up.
