I just get coffee, but it's also worth noting I have only ever heard good things about their pastries. The baristas are also always very friendly and great to talk to. Where to start?! I love the community here! The baristas are all so kind and are able to have good chat. Ok, coffee time. Their lattes are my favorite! They're always so smooth and the latte art is prime. And if it's not, they'll happily remake your latte to ensure the aesthetic is just right. The aesthetic. You can tell they put effort into their standards here. All coffee shops are learning a technique now. Minimalism. From the walls to the chairs, they seem to keep it very simple. This place does that. Street parking is the way so learn how to parallel park. They make it so easy because they don't have a crazy menu. Ordering coffee should be easy. I love that they are a veteran owned business and donate to the Jacksonville homeless population as one way they support the local Jacksonville community. Super friendly staff and delicious coffee. I feel like the review could stop there but like a good yelper I'll go into a bit more detail. Located on Main Street social grounds is definitely a much needed spot in Springfield and I love being able to support local businesses, especially in an area that's working on revitalizing itself. Prices are on par with Starbucks. Usually the place isn't crazy busy and the wait isn't long (though I've seen every table taken on occasion). If you're in the area and looking for a good coffee be sure to stop in. Only thing I'd like to see is some more food options. I'd love to be able to come in for a casual bite to eat. Cafe au lait is smooth and excellent. Atmosphere is inviting, and comfortably farmhouse modern. Low music would be a nice touch but this is their Grand Opening Morning so I'm sure there'll be plenty of people and it'll get loud quickly. The Springfield community will always support neighborhood businesses. Glad to have a local shop here. Love the clever name, especially because it's SPR--Social Grounds describes this socially conscious, politically active, creative and civic minded group of people who call this neighborhood home. Looking forward to trying all their coffee offerings, the smoothies, the tea and the ice cream and pastries. There's only two choices for smoothies and ice cream but there's ample coffee choices. It's wonderful and long overdue that Main Street is getting more respectable businesses to invest in it. In addition to this coffee house, there's Uptown, a new restaurant, Crispies, a tapas restaurant, a skate shop, two banks, a nail spa AND two breweries. I live in the neighborhood and yet believe this is some of the best coffee in Jacksonville. I always buy this coffee as gifts and everyone loves it. The shop is super cool, the owners and employees are awesome. Our kids walk here to study with their friends and love the smoothies. There is also gluten free bakery items available. read more

The pastry had a huge amount of icing very sweet rarely do I find a pastry that's too sweet but this was. Musical little too loud service a little too slow. It honestly was the worst latte I've ever tasted, it tasted like burnt coffee or even old coffee, as someone who is a avid coffee drinker, and loves checking out local coffee shops, I actually went twice hoping this was just a off day, because it happens, but this wasn't the case it wasn't it was still awful..
