5:00 on First Friday and the bar was hopping, parking was easy in the side lot. We called ahead and had a table upstairs overlooking the distillery. The upstairs was quieter for conversation. Our waitress, Emily? was great. She suggested a Moscow Mule with Lavender and it was awesome. The Sampler is a must - it's 4 baby shots of any spirits- Emily helped us choose- the kiwi vodka was . Apps- the crab, hush puppies are a must- 5 fried balls, served on a plate spread with tartar sauce. We shared the falafel wrap; served with fries. Very good but next time I will be more adventurous. Birthday celebrations! What an awesome place! My husband and I went there last night to celebrate our birthdays with our friends that recently moved near Bethlehem area and we live in NJ! First, the atmosphere has a lot of character, it's an old back building over 120yrs old with original vault doors! --It was actually restaurant week so the menu was great, I had chopped salad, South Side Burger, and dessert was a snickerdoodle or ice cream with cookie. --The drinks were great, I had Social Still signature cocktail!! Then my friend and I had their smooth homemade red wine that was absolutely delicious & not acidity!! My husband and his friend had IPA locally brewed and it was good usually my husband is very picky about his IPA's. The service was good our waitress was attentive and pleasant. I just had a conversation with a very rude employee. Bought a growler of the new vanilla/pear cocktail at Chriskindlmart and when I got home I saw that it had to be consumed in a week. I called because that didn't sound right, and the employee said it was on the sticker. Since it came from behind the stand, customers wouldn't see the sticker. She said "what do you want me to do?" And I said maybe let customers know. Then she said she would let her employees know in addition to all their other duties to let every single customer know that the cocktail needs to be consumed in a week. Seriously? Social Still was a great place to celebrate a birthday! We were a party of 4 and went on a Friday. Apparently on Friday's before a certain time, they give guests free sample of their liquor. I had the spiced rum, and it tasted pretty good. I also ordered a watermelon mojito which was one of the best mojitos I've had. My meal was also very tasty! Their in-house distilled spirits are worth trying every single one of them. I recommend doing a flight or two of their spirits, and then trying a cocktail or libation of your favorite liquor. Food and drinks were amazing. Highly recommend the everything pretzel app, French onion soup, fried chicken sandwich and brisket Mac and cheese. I especially loved their old fashioned. The drink itself was delicious, and the amarena cherry in it was seriously like angels singing, it was that good. All the Covid precautions were maintained as well, from what I could see. This was our 4th time visiting The Social Still and I will say the first 2 times we were impressed but the last 2 times not so much. We were seated immediately, then it took our waitress 10 minutes before she came over to ask if we wanted drinks. Also something I saw was, why does the staff dress however they want? My husband & I very much enjoyed this restaurant! Service (Rob) was fantastic! He was informative about the establishment and all it offered in terms of drinks, was attentive, and went above and beyond when he heard of my dairy allergy and had the sauce for the Granny Smith bread pudding put on the side without me even asking. Food was packed with flavor, and absolutely delicious! My husband had the "Ham" burger and I had the vegan black bean burger with a side Brussels sprout salad that had apples, goat cheese, and candied nuts. Glad we decided to try this place for dinner. Went on a Saturday night around 530p. It is in an old bank, nice high ceilings and you can see the vault from where we sat. Started with the barvarian pretzel appetizer which was a huge pretzel with a cheddar, bacon, bourbon sauce and quite tasty. Had the truffle burger and fries - excellent. Drinks were a bit pricey but worth it for a good cocktail - we tried the jake (rye whiskey), pear mojito, and cucumber lemon drop. One of the best, if not the best "old fashion" I have ever had. The have their own distillery and they are great at what they do. Why the "one star" review? Because the actually don't have a kitchen and they are selling food!! Cool venue... Remember this place as a bank when I was growing up. They have done an exceptional job converting this into a trendy upscale bar and restaurant. Food is unique and special. My burger was delicious, and it would have been five stars if it was a hand formed fresh patty instead of a preformed frozen one. My buddy had the salmon, he thought it was delicious. I heard good things about this restaurant so we gave it a try and boy am I glad we did!! Food was fantastic and the service was equally superb! We loved the building too. We sat upstairs and liked that they had couches instead of jamming the room full of tables. The drinks were amazing! I wish they were a little bigger for the price, especially since they make their own spirits. My husbands Rum and Coke was so tiny we had to ask for a bigger glass to just feel like we had a drink. But the taste was great. I had the Great Pumpkin, and 2 others which were yummy. Hubby had the short rib which he loved, I had the crab cake with Brussels sprouts and I wanted to lick my plate it was so good. We finished with Creme Brûlée and the Torte and both were so good. One thing I will say is that this is the first restaurant we have gone to where our bill was $160-ish, we had drinks, dinner, AND dessert which I rarely do, and we didn't take home a doggy bag?! We came here for dinner to top off my birthday weekend and once again, I'm glad we did! Just like the first time we visited our drinks, appetizer and dinners were out of this world! The jalapeño heist hands down is an amazing drink and we had the spinach artichoke gratin for our appetizer, this is one glorious dish! I had some fried calamari and it was different but delicious....The burger was on point and so was my wife's disco fries....Young lady originally serving us( blue hair) was pleasant and knew the menu well. While we were there the boss held a meeting and he introduced his staff to all the new items on the menu.. Truffle fries are excellent. Salmon was perfectly cooked and broth was different and interesting. Crab cake was presented in a cylinder format starting with a slaw at the bottom, a charred tomato slice and a crab cake that is almost all lump crab meat. Just enough filler to hold it together and just enough seasoning to enhance the crab flavor. Finished with an excellent sauce and tarragon oil with pea green garnish. Fantastic spot. Great atmosphere inside. For someone who generally only drinks wine and neat scotch, I tried 3 different of their specialty cocktails and they were all unique and incredibly good. If you think its just because I don't know cocktails, the rest in my party are more experienced cocktail drinkers and really enjoyed their drinks. The menu was very limited but great. We split the ham panini, hummus plate, cheese plate, and tuna. Every one was great. I wasn't going for the food, but I would. The idea of converting a run down bank on the south side of Bethlehem into a trendy bar was a good one, because this has provided a dining experience unique to the Lehigh Valley. The food portions are large, the drinks are potent, and the service is excellent. It's a bit pricey, as our party of four easily spent $130 before tip, but nobody was complaining about the delicious food or atmosphere. I'd like to see more seating, as there are limited tables after accounting for the large still that sits in the main dining area. The desserts were made from scratch in the kitchen and were absolutely incredible. Parking was free, and directly across the street. Had a decent experience here. The food was overall good, but the portions are very small for the prices. My significant other had ordered the Seared Yellowfin Tuna, which was under "large plates" and for $32, it was a very small portion and definitely would not fill someone up. I had the 'Bama Chicken Wrap, and the quality was good, but once again, small portions. I expected more for everything I had ordered. The biggest portion I had received was the calamari, which was pretty good, but some pieces were chewy and soft, when usually calamari is crispy on the outside and somewhat chewy on the inside. The drinks were okay for what they were priced at, and it did not seem like there was much alcohol in them. LOVE the vibe. The servers we've had have always been super friendly and attentive. The cocktails are so creative with lots of interesting herbal infusions using their house-made liquors. It's nice inside and there is a decent parking lot outside. They do have a selection of local beers if you like to drink beers. I believe they make their own vodka but I didn't try it. The service was the biggest downer. Apparently they have a reputation for service issues. My friend remarked about that problem. I hope they correct the service issue. Also a very nice selection of local craft beers. I had the nachos and it was more than an entre size. Very tasty and presented beautifully. My husband started with the scallop app and they were to die for. He then had the calamari which were good but way too salty. I have been to social still twice and I must say it is pretty darn good. The first time I sat at the bar with co workers and the ambiance was great, it was fun, up beat, and the staff was amazing. The bartender Tommy had us laughing the whole time and could make a good drink. I must say the drinks aren't as expensive as you would think. I was trying different shots of speciality vodka and rum. The food was WOW the first time I had the meat and cheese platter, the mussels frites, which I knew I wasn't going like because I like my French fries extra crispy, but this was amazing. The reason for my 4 stars is because the second time I went everything we had was perfect down to the truffle burger that I would recommend to anyone, and the scallops that were absolutely amazing, it tasted like a piece of fresh sushi with a scallop in top,but my mussels did not taste like they did the first time. I'm a person that likes consistency. I ordered it because I was blown away by how it tasted the first time. The mussels this time was to slimy and gritty.
